She's a sweet girl who's transitioned wonderfully from a quiet rescue (at 9 months) to a fun, playful, obedient (well, mostly), and happy best friend. We set up four training sessions with Mike M. and had such a good and productive time that we did four more, and Murphy-Lou is doing great! She's mastered all the basics (i.e., sit, come, down, heel, off, place, etc.) and she no longer just ignores me when interested in something else, but turns to me glaring, "I am a Coonhound, you oaf, just one moment, there is a leaf here and I must give it appropriate consideration", and when finished she'll walk over and sit next to my foot. Mike is abundantly knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and super friendly... and he's also very considerate in trying not to sound critical of my own efforts training Murphy -- a couple of times I've told him, "don't worry about hurting my feelings, if I need to do something differently just let me know -- I'm the one who needs training!" While we were working on this, Kristie also helped us with some basic command refinements with all 3 of our dogs. There's a laundry list of medications for the dogs and she does a great job keeping up with it all. She doesn't mind when I'm that helicopter dog mom and I check too often on my sick boy. My puppy screamed in pain and the "trainer" started yelling at me to "get out!" and as I carried my screaming puppy out he mockingly shouted to all the other owners "She's just a drama queen!" My puppy would not bear weight on the injured foot. X-rays showed there were no broken bones, so the veterinarian bandaged her leg and we waited a week until the bandage was removed to find out if she needed an MRI to assess ligament injury. Fortunately when her bandage was removed she was no longer lame so no ligament injury. We had an almost $500 veterinary bill from her injury at the Zoom Room and the owner/manager never contacted us. The "trainer" said he would refund our $25 puppy play group fee and did not.

Although my dog is not perfect, I am familiar with his behaviors--he consistently holds his urine until he is let outside and will whimper to signal his needs. It was clear that he was not let out before bedtime or during the night, which led him to urinate in his bed. This issue was not addressed until shortly before I arrived to pick him up at 10:00 AM. His Bedding was provided to me in a a double garbage bag with his soaking wet blanket. Water Availability; Another major issue was the apparent lack of water in his cage. Before drop-off, I ensured my dog was hydrated, took him to the bathroom, and prepared him for his stay. When I picked him up the next morning, he immediately drank two bottles of water and tried to ask for more. I had to wait before giving him additional water to prevent him from getting sick. Overall Impression; I am extremely disappointed with the experience and do not plan to return to Paddock's Paws. After speaking with Ashland, the manager, I believed the facility would be a good fit for my dog. However, ignoring an animal's needs while being paid for care is unacceptable. I paid $79 for him to stay overnight without water or bathroom breaks, which is not the level of care I expected. A very displeased former one-time customer.

She came home and the next day had kennel cough even though she has been vaccinated. She also has a cut on her leg from this visit and I am extremely upset and disappointed. $89 for this and now probably a $1000 vet visit too. Do better.
