And while I might consider myself thorough, "anal" might be a more accurate descriptor. We consider our pet family as well, and when our old vet/groomer retired I went looking. We don't look for the closest, or by zip code, but I do look for the best. My dog is a rescue. Skittish somewhat, but a superb judge of people. I'm really disappointed to be changing my previous five-star review. I've always been happy with…read moreMary's, and this was not my puppy's first visit. Unfortunately, this time her grooming was completely botched, and the result was so shocking that I came home and cried my eyes out. I've never had a grooming experience go this wrong before, and she barely looks like herself. I requested a teddy bear cut (which she gets each time) and specifically asked that her ears not be trimmed because I'm growing them out. Instead, she came home with a very round head, triangular cheeks, a square chin, and ears cut into two tiny circles. Nothing blended together, and the grooming looks nothing AT ALL like what I had requested. Mary and Matthew were very responsive when I brought my concerns to their attention, and they agreed to mail me a refund, although I haven't received it yet. (This is why I'm giving them three stars instead of just one. This particular grooming was definitely a one star!) I also asked for the groomer's name so I can make sure not to use him again. Unfortunately, the haircut is done, and now we have to wait for her hair to grow back. I don't know whether this was an isolated incident with this groomer, but the result was bad enough that I'm seriously considering going somewhere else. It's a really rough decision because I've trusted Mary's with my dogs for years. I haven't decided whether my dogs will go back, but this experience has definitely shaken my confidence.
