I've taken my dog to Abril's Paw Spa twice now and have had great experiences each time. I have a Boston Terrier so he's pretty easy but Jonathan is very good and does a great job. My Princeton smells good for over a week after he leaves Abril's even after rolling in the grass all the time . Pricing is a tad higher than other groomers(for the services I get- bath, brush, nail grinding), but the quality of work is higher and you're also supporting a new local business at the same time so it's a win-win. Jonathan also provides discounts here and there which is appreciated also. After the service he explains how everything went in detail so you really know what went on instead of the usual "he did great" like the other guys. I highly recommend bringing your dogs to Abril's paw spa.. they'll be bff with Jonathan in no time!

Very strict for lack of Knowledge! For anyone considering this place ask requirements prior so you wont waste your time as i did with mine.

Very responsive and friendly. Thoroughly explained everything to me as this was my first time taking my dog to a groomer. Today is the first time that my Maltipoo, Lambie, was groomed by Johnathon. I can't thank him enough for dealing with her as she can be quite rambunctious. The grooming was fantastic. He cut her very short as I had requested, and the whole grooming was done short like I wanted, and when I picked her up, she came out looking terrific. No criticism here I do not live in Arizona and this Groomer was actually recommended to me by My Son as he has a business very close there and drops his English bulldog their regularly. Great job and thank you. read more

10000/10!!!!! Took my chihuahua named pretty in!! They were so so sweet and kind and took amazing care of her! They truly went above and beyond!! Her nails were super long and they trimmed and filed them down perfectly for her! They trimmed up her fur and gave her a bath and blow dry and she is so soft and lighter now! Long overdue review but Johnathon did an amazing job with our dog, Scout! We've been taking him to PetSmart and some other local groomers but Abril's has been the absolute best! We decided to check him out after meeting him at a local pet fair right before Covid hit. Johnathon was really great with handling social distancing and infection control! Even more so, Scout is known to bite and be hard to handle at the groomers but Johnathon was so good with Scout! He didn't have to muzzle him at all! The price is affordable and in total took about ~2hrs, definitely a great turnaround time. You can tell Johnathon cares about what he does and genuinely loves animals. Definitely the best dog groomers in Glendale and a great way to support a local business! read more

Jonathan is a wonderful person and you can tell a pet lover. I have taken my Lhasapoo to him twice since I have moved to this area. Johnathon has been grooming our fur child Einstein for the last 4 years. His location is a bit out of the way for us, but for peace of mind knowing that Einstein will be taken care of, it's well worth it. Einstein always comes back happy and well groomed with no knicks or cuts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Wow. Johnathon was so friendly and obviously great with dogs. Our dogs loved him. They smell so good after their grooming/bath. You can tell that he loves his job! The shop is clean and cute. Ample parking around the shop. We booked our 6 week appointment because it was superior to any other place we have been for grooming/spa/bath for our pups. Highly recommended! Just moved to Phoenix this last year and was looking for someone to groom my Maltese. I found Abrils Paw Spa and decided to try them out due to the great reviews and the proximity to my house. I do not regret it one bit! He did such a wonderful job on my dog that when I saw her I immediately booked her next appointment with him at the time of pick up. Excellent job done with my mom's dog. He was so anxious when we dropped him off, but when we came to pick him up, he was happy, not anxious at all and looked perfectly groomed. What makes us stand out from other pet groomers is that our groomer on staff specializes in technical scissor work compared to most places who just shave down. If your looking for good quality scissor work without having to shave down your pet this is the place to be!

Established in 2016.

Abril's paw spa started in 2016, and has continued to grow the last couple of years. We started as a mobile grooming service and now have found a home in downtown Glendale. We hope to continue growing and offer a number of services that cater to many different people and their pets .

There's a laundry list of medications for the dogs and she does a great job keeping up with it all. She doesn't mind when I'm that helicopter dog mom and I check too often on my sick boy. Regardless of his illness, Michelle sends many pictures and text updates on how things are going with all the dogs. As a very protective momma, I trust Michelle completely with my furbabies and home. We love having Michelle take care of our babies... so much so that when we were planning the August trip we just completed, she wasn't available on our original dates, so we moved our trip to make sure she was available. She's been great and I was so impressed with the experience I had with this rescue that I started volunteering there. The rescue takes in mostly German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois from puppies to seniors and from various backgrounds - strays, owner surrenders, from other shelters (some on the e-list), medical hardships, etc. Once under SPRA care the dogs are well fed, are walked and/or get play time outside of their kennels 4 times a day, receive medical care if needed, etc. The volunteers and staff also work with the dogs on socialization and basic training. It's also important to know that SPRA is a no kill shelter. Bottom line, if you're looking for a German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois please check out Saving Paws Rescue Arizona. They have so many wonderful dogs looking for a family like my pup pictured below, adopt don't shop.

Anna called me Ms. Kitty. I fostered Kitty for 2 days. On the evening of the 2nd day, I finally was contacted after calling and texting staff since the 1st day. The cat was very sick, vomiting, and skeletal. In my opinion. She spent the entire 5 weeks in a cage while at the shelter. I was told she had kidney disease before bringing her home to hospice status the day I picked her up. Which was 2 days later. Yet, no medication was included in her care box. Shame on you, Sun Cities 4 Paws Cat Rescue. From my perspective, that poor cat was overlooked. Kitty deserved to be cared for or given peace over the rainbow bridge.

Johnathon has been grooming my Shitzus Gizmo & Gadget since Gadget joined the family early this year. They have issues with kennels, so they haven't liked going to the groomers before but with Abril's mobile paw spa, they're happy to see Johnathan as if they are on a play date instead of the dreaded groomers. Gizmo has also visited Johnathon at the shop in Glendale. Knowing about Gizmo's issues with the kennel, Johnathan made accommodations to make sure that I could drop off Gizmo straight into his arms and that he could call me with enough time to make sure I could get there to pick up Gizmo by the time Johnathon was done with the grooming.
