Probably the worst retail store in the USA . I waited by the register for 10 minutes, not one was there to ring up my purchases. I waited for 10 to 15 minutes to see if anyone would show up . No one did left over 100 bucks worth of items in my car at the register and left. This is a problem at this location as this was not the first time this happened. I righting this review to you consumers about Petco. I have jack Dempsey fish which they are aggressive fish. There diet is FEEDER goldfish. My fish are about 4" long which they are not able to eat the large FEEDER goldfish. The reason why I am capping Feeder is to make sure you know that fish I need to purchase is not for a pet. The fish is for FEEDING my Jack Dempsey. I went to Petco which is a walking distance from my house. I walked in to the fish department and asked for 2 dozen small FEEDER goldfish. The employee said I cannot sell these goldfish because they are 1/2" and less. It is illegal for me to sell them. First question why do you have them in your store and out in display to be sold. So, I walked out and went back home. Got my vehicle and went to PetSmart bought 2 dozen FEEDER goldfish which are smaller than 1/2". Please make me understand it is FEEDER goldfish not for a pet. They are going to be dinner for the Jack Dempsey fish. That was the first incident. Second incident. It was about a month later. Went back to Petco to buy FEEDER goldfish. I arrived to the store at 7:20PM. Went to the fish department and as usual I waited for an employee to help me purchase FEEDER goldfish. For 45 minutes went by and didn't see anyone. So, I walked to the front to ask for help which I did. Mind you I was there for 45 minutes waiting get some service. So, I asked the employee to help get 2 dozen FEEDER goldfish. There response was sorry sir we are closed. Really, I was there for 45 minutes waiting for help and the employees were nowhere to be found. Until I walked to the front of the store where the cash registers are. I am not looking for freebies just wanted to let you all know about the experience I encountered. So, I called the complaint number to let them know about there customer service. Believe it or not they were the same as there store. They did not care about the complaint nor they were going to do anything about it. I waited 33 minutes on the phone to speak to a so-called upper management and also called the complaint phone number. That was a joke. I don't know about you all consumers. But that is not the way to do or render services in a retail store. Granted they say the customer is always right. I do not agree. There are customers that are wrong and if I have a retail store, I would kick them out for being rude and disrespectful. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING A few years ago, I used to get my dog groomed here, and they did a decent job. Today I took him and I was told it would take a while. Okay, I understand, it'd been a while for grooming for him, and he has a double coat of very thick hair. I was told they were short-staffed and that there would only be one groomer there to work on him, so it would take several hours. About 15-20 minutes in, I was called to come pick him up. The girl stated he wouldn't stand on the table for her. He's a 135 pound, 10 year old dog. She said he was choking himself and his tongue was turning purple. WHAT??? So I raced back there to pick him up, and she had shaved his back legs and his stomach TO THE SKIN. This is a double coated dog. You don't shave them to the skin, you shave them to about 1/2 inch or so. He looks so pathetic. I was too livid to speak to the manager at that time. I could not believe when I got home and saw the damage. I should have known when I first got there and Carla asked me to bring him back tomorrow morning (when I assume she wouldn't be working). I said no because I have other things set for tomorrow and it's an ordeal to get him in and out of the SUV. Never again. Carla just didn't want to deal with it. This is a very gentle dog, he does not fuss, and I've never had a groomer not be able to handle him before. I've never had one start the job and refuse to finish it. She just didn't want to do it. Period. UPDATE: Talked to the current manager who wasn't there this afternoon, and she is going to investigate. I told her I have pictures, if I can get an email to send them. Pup is crying a little tonight, which is unusual, like he's hurting somewhere. UPDATE 2: Well, the manager did call back, and told me she'd watched the videos and I'd agreed for him to be shaved if there were mats. I said, yes, I sure did, but I expect a qualified groomer to know that with a double-coated, long haired dog, shave means 1 inch from the skin, not down to the skin. That is what shaving should have been done. They didn't offer to fix it, didn't offer a discount to go to another Petco to get it fixed, and when she said that my phone number and the dog weren't in their system, was that the Petco I'd been to before, it felt like she was calling me a liar. I told her so. So she told me that there is a mobile grooming service at some Petcos, and gave me a number to call. That place was in Denton and doesn't service this area, of course. So they gave me the number of the Petco on 380 in McKinney to see if their mobile service could help. Ashley was very nice, and she will be here on Saturday to try to correct this issue as much as she can. So update 3 coming soon. At least Ashley sounds very competent and seems to know how to work with large, older dogs. UPDATE 3: No luck from the mobile van either. I can't figure this out. This dog has never had anyone have problems giving him a haircut before, so is it just Petco? We'll be going back to our regular groomers in November with a regularly scheduled appointment since they're now so busy. Will not be darkening Petco's door again. Petsmart will be getting all our business from now on. I'll drive farther and pass our local Petco for our food, etc. Very unsatisfactory experience all the way around. But just to let them know, you do not cut a double coated dog's fur less than 1 inch long. It affects their ability to regulate their temperature. I'm going to Amazon now to buy some clippers and will trim him up so he at least looks decent myself since the others don't seem to be capable. read more

If it's could rate this store no stars I would. I called ahead to check for availability of a product, as it was a 30 minute drive I wanted to make sure they product was in the store. I was told by the employee on the phone, that yes he had the product and would hold it at the front register for me. Upon entering the store, I went straight to the front counter and was waited on by David, the same employee that checked stock for me. He said he did not have the product after all. No apology was offered, other than "sorry I was busy and failed to check to see if he really had the product ". I said that was unacceptable customer service. Again, I had called ahead because the store is an hour round trip for me. After my complaint, David proceeded to yell at me to "Fuck Off" as I was leaving the store. Fearing for my safety, I decided to call the manager from the car. The person claiming to be the manager told me "he would take care of the employee". I'm new to the area and i decided to have my doodle groomed by Preston. Once i dropped Him off he wasn't there for the initial consultation so i had to discuss what i wanted with someone else hoping she would relay the messages. I scheduled his appointment at 10am not thinking it would take over 3-4 hours. It never took more than 2 hours to have him groomed. I called at 12:30 to check the status and they said another hour and a half. I had to be at work by 2 so that wasn't going to work. Once i called back to see if it was any way to have him done sooner i was put on hold to speak with his upmost ignorant groomer Preston. He was beyond sarcastic i could hear the attitude in his tone when i expressed my concerns regarding time. He said i can come pick him up now. I asked if he was done and he replied "NOPE" As far as customer service i see why he only works with dogs. I was extremely upset once i arrived his hair was taken way too short which is not what i asked for and turn he Preston cut my dog with the clippers. He has a few good gashes which by the way has never happened!! He needs major coaching and another training on grooming this is completely unacceptable. read more

An employee literally went out of his way to close and lockup the store well before they were supposed to be closed and looked at me through the door and walked off as if I didn't exist. I hope that this review helps another dog owner. I had a more than bad experience at the Vetco in Frisco. I brought my dog in to be treated due to a scab that had developed on her ear. The vet techs were very nice and took her to the back room for the vet to exam her ear. I repeat, exam her ear! At that point, I had never met the vet. When the actual vet brought my sweet dog back to me, he explained that he had cut the top of her ear. He also explained that we really don't need that part of the ear and that she would now be without the top part of her ear forever. He offered a pain medicine for any discomfort. I am furious right now!!! How does a doctor cut on a dog without the permission of the owner and bring the dog back to the owner as if this procedure was authorized? I never authorized this or any other procedure. My dog was there for an examination only. How do you go from an examination to being cut on without the owner knowing? I have so much more to add, but I'll stop here. OMG! This vet has to be crazy to do something like this to an animal or a pet family. PLEASE avoid this location!!! read more

I also made sure that he expressed his glands cause his vet said he is due for one. When I picked him I was surprised to see my shaved off. It wasn't the cut I wanted for him. We went home and my dog was still scooting to scratch his bottom and until now he is still doing the same thing. It only means that he didn't express his glands. Lauren Carpenter 1st caught my attention in grooming, what a special, sweet, awesome groomer...i was so sad she moved out to the firewheel location (closer to home and promotion) but happy on her deserved recognition! Ive continued with grooming here and have to say they seem to all like their jobs and you can see the team effort and almost Family like feel. Ive seen Kevin bf but today i caught him for a question, to which he (while making sure everyone around was being helped) stepped away while i was shopping and did some quick research for me and got back to me on my question. Love Love this Petco location! It's a small store, with super friendly service and it has everything I need for my two crazies. Plenty of toys, leashes, food variety, and random pet stuff. The 5 stars is mostly for grooming. We started going to this location after the other Petco near the DNT become a dump with not friendly workers. And as it turns out a lot of the people we loved from the other location moved to this one so we were happy to see some friendly faces. This location has a small closed doored room where you check your dog in for their "spa" service. I prefer this as my dogs tend to get nervous around an automatic door and get distracted by other people and dogs coming in and out of the entrance. We have two short haired dogs (boxers) so we usually ask for a bath, nail trim and teeth brushing. They keep the dogs for about 3 hours and we get them back smelling and looking great! A+ for a clean facility with friendly faces! read more

This store does not know it's head from its tail end. I ordered a litter box for same day in-store pickup. Website said it was available. Order it get email to confirm order and that I will be told when it's ready. Over a hour later I receive a second email stating it was not in stock and I would not be charged for it yet I was charged for it. Go to the store to see what the deal is the lady claims it's could take up to 5 days to be ready. I am sorry this is not what the website says and in that case I would have not bothered with in store but had it shipped. The second email claims they will call me to figure out a different option shipping or a different store 3 hours later still have not received a call. The lady at the store then also claimed I could not get it from another store that I wold have to pay for it again. I think not I paid on your website not your store directly further more I am not going to wait a week for you to refund my card as well as pay at another store. If you are going to say things are available for in store pickup they probably should be. Further more if you are going to wear a name tag that says "manager" you should probably know a little more about things than you do. Rather than calling to find out of I wanted to go to a different store, wait for her store to actually have it or just have it shipped she also took it upon herself to cancel my order. I took my dog Louie to see Ricky for dog training and he is a LIFESAVER! My dog had a lot of separation anxiety and he assured me that basic dog training, plus a sprinkling of behavior specific training, would help. I wasn't sure since "sit" didn't seem related but I'm so glad I trusted him. My dog has a particular motivation and a particular way his brain understands things and Ricky was able to get down on his level and really pull out the behaviors he needed from him. And it never felt like my dog wasn't having fun in the slightest. Ricky has such a positive way of thinking which helped encourage me on the progress Louie was making. After 6 sessions, Louie no longer cries, pees in my house, or destroys things when I'm gone and I can't believe the results. If ever there was a dog-whisperer, it would be Ricky. Definitely give him a call if you need help! read more

This location is small but clean and bright. The groomer that I scheduled with answered all my questions. And explained the charges. I found the products that I needed to DYI my dog's grooming in the meantime for cheaper than Amazon price! So I will keep coming back for that. I give it a 2 star rating because one specific Assistant Manager, Amy is the rudest, non-customer focused employee I have ever dealt with in my 7 years going to Petco. The two times I have had to check out with her, she is abrasive, coarse and when my digital coupon wouldn't scan, she tries to tell me she cannot accept it and tries to pawn me off to the customer service line. In this instance which happened today on 10/29 @ 5pm I got a 25% off for Blue Buffalo products and the in store coupon code wouldn't scan. She got upset when I asked her to try again and just take 25% off the total. She specifcally said outloud "Jesus C*". There is no need to act like that. The store had no customers, she didn't feel like going the extra mile and bottom line she is rude and very impolite. I am looking to potentially take my business elsewhere. read more

My wife took our dog to get groomed after doing it myself during the pandemic. I had a difficult time trimming her legs since she's a teacup poodle. We consistently groom, wash and brush her. The groomer said she was matted and she would have to cut her short. I had cut her short the last cut using a 3" guide and she wasn't matted at all. Her hair is really fine and easy to brush. When I picked up our dog, I was shocked. She had been scalped! I could have cut her again and done better but didn't have the time. So I took her to what I thought were professional groomers. The groomers didn't wear masks either! This is why we hadn't taken her to get groomed in the first place. My wife asked why the groomer wasn't wearing a mask and she was frustrated and quickly put one on until we left. When I returned to pick our dog up the groomer had taken the mask off. They were not following CDC guidelines or state governors guidelines. So we immediately bathed her again once we came home. She's been licking her wounds since she got home. read more

I agree with yelper Christopher L. - this location is on the small side - they don't have as many toys/clothes/furniture selections as I'd like it to. For the most part though, I've always found something that would work. I mostly come in for food and they always have what I'm looking for (except EVO - I haven't seen it). I've also used the salon services and been overall pleased. One girl did trim Charlie's nails one time and made puppy bleed! When he got home we noticed a trail of blood (thankfully not on the light carpet), and saw what happened. I made an appointment to have my 16 year old Shi Tzu to be groomed and specifically ask for Andra as she is the manager. She was a few minutes late getting there which wasn't a problem but I then had to wait for her to set up her station for grooming. Once she took my information she presented me with a bill of $71! WHAT!!! I was shocked because I was under the impression it was $45. $7 was for a ZOOM groom, ok what the heck is a ZOOM groom. She told me it was when the dog isn't caged before grooming, sad. Ok, someone explain to me if she was already scheduled to come in at 10AM that day my dog was her 1st groom, there was no Zoom to it!. Next $7 for special attention for older dog and then another $7 for shampoo, which she wouldn't use the medicated shampoo I brought since it wasn't prescribed by a Vet. Let me start with the one positive... this was my 2nd petco of the day where I had made a grooming appointment for my dog and neither frisco location claimed they had her in their system. This petco very kindly fit her in to try to accommodate the issue. Nice, very much appreciated, however wish I had just said no. The grooming was the absolute WORST haircut or should I say complete shave my dog has ever had. They not only didn't listen when I explained that I just wanted a trim (even pointed to the cut in the pad they show you), they shaved her down so low that I can see her skin. Plus they left blotchy areas and none of it is even. It feels like someone put the blade on the highest setting and shaved her blindfolded. I feel awful for my dog as she looks traumatized. She looks completely bare. Not sure which specific groomer did this but they should be ripped of their license. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this store for grooming. Now ending with a positive, the manager did comp the mess. He was very nice and that was the right thing to do, however doesn't make up for my poor dog. She is an Australian Shepard that has lost her fur. Very disappointed. read more

He also told me that many fish must breed to be happy. He said if there is only one sex the fish will be constantly frustrated. So I got some other fish to assure I have couples. One of the cashiers called someone twice to help me and after waiting 15 minutes, I walked out and went to Pet Supermarket on FM 423. I always receive personal customer service at this store. I should have gone there in the first place but the construction is so bad on FM 423 I tried the Petco. I would rather put up with the construction than go to this Petco location. read more
