I was shocked to see how small the store is. I came in one day and I asked the assistant manager help with holistic wet dog food. He didn't really seem like he knew what he was talking about, but just showed me around to the obvious, big, name brands. not too happy with that... I came back the next day to exchange the food that I purchased, and I was immediately greeted by a guy named, David? a little older, but very sweet. He offered his assistance, and is very easy going. Love this Petco store and especially groomers. Always get our 1yr old ( Belle ) and our 5yr old ( Charlie ) boxers nails done. There was a special before Christmas for grooming and they do the best job ever. Our dog's smell so good and fresh we had to bring them back. And a plus the girls are so wonderful with our dogs. I bring my dog teddy here for his grooming all the time. I alternate from this petco to the one closer by my house but my preference is here since they do a better job for less money which means I get to tip more! My old teddy bear is 16 years old so quite the senior. He's pretty much blind and has a heart murmur which translates to him coughing heavily with too much excitement or stress. I feel confident bringing him here since despite some ailments he's very healthy for his age. He's always excited to come and always really really happy when i come to pick him up. The groomers here are very friendly.. They treat my dog well and do an amazing job. The store is an older layout but very organized and they were one of the first saltwater petco stores in the area. I'll bring my dog here again and again and maybe grab some fish when I'm back! read more

This is the most horrible Petco I've ever entered. I have been there twice, and each time there wasn't a fish in their tanks that wasn't sick and dying - mostly from Ich. I would highly recommend not supporting this store, as they do not care for their live animals and they are left to suffer and die. read more

I brought my little Bugg (Boston terrier/ pug), Bella, in to have her nails trimmed. This is the first time I've ever brought her anywhere to get them done but they were really getting out of hand so I figured it'd be safer to have a professional take care of them. I called ahead of time to find out what I needed to bring with me. Bethany answered the phone and told me that a nail trim would be $10.00 (very cheap) and to bring in Bella's shot records. When I showed up I had the shot records went through a very painless, quick registration into their computer system. I explained to the groomer, Tracy, that Bella had separation anxiety and I wanted to be around when she got her nails trimmed. She was not only very understanding about that, but also made sure to turn the station around so that Bella could maintain eye contact with me. Bella was pretty upset, but Tracy was very gentle and coaxed her through the process. Overall my experience was fantastic. Tracy and Bethany were so nice, very informative, and very quick with their services. I've experienced other groomers making my dogs bleed and Tracy did a very clean job, no cuts at all! I LOVE this Petco.. The associates are very observant and helpful and always assist me when Im in there... Im not sure what the previous girl was talking about... I've set up both my fresh and salt tank with them and ALWAYS have good experiences, and healthy fish. 15 day guarantee is excellent for a pet store! I have been in there once when their goldfish has a parasite but they were under observation and being TREATED, which quite frankly amazes me since from what I've heard, most pet stores will euthanize a sick batch. I HIGHLY reccomend them! They know their animals. read more

I went in awhile ago and was looking at the reptiles when I noticed their juvenile ball python was really skinny.... I mean REAL skinny. I was very concerned and brought it up to the employee wondering around the area. He informed me that the snake is refusing to eat and shrugged it off like it was no big deal. As a BP parent I know that they can be very picky eaters, but for a yearling to not eat is potentially dangerous to their health. Why are you selling a snake that is not eating? So when an inexperienced owner brings it home it can die of starvation? IRRESPONSIBLE. I was very disappointed when I saw that and refuse to adopt from this store. read more

Went to Petco yesterday and I was trying to buy some dry cat food that was on sale on their website. The sales lady told me that I have to CALL the website to get the sales price. I promptly went home and did just that. It turned out to be a 45 min call to some gal that spoke very bad English. I had to put in my credit card number 10 times. According to her, it did not work. At the 10th time she told me that my credit card was not working. I had used the card the day before buying cat litter at Petco. By then I was so pissed off that I just hung up. Then I checked my bank statement and sure enough, all 10 cr card inputs were on there plus they charged me 5 times for the cat food, an amount of $89.00 per transaction. So, how could my credit card not work, when I was charged? So today I went to the Petco store and complained to the manager. He could not help me, but gave me an 888 number to call for my complaint. Went home and did just that, except the guy claimed not to hear me and hung up. So much for good service read more

The store is great the groomers are nice. I'm very disappointed with my grooming experience. I have a Pomeranian mix that had beautiful long hair that just needed to be re shaped. I asked for a trim and wanted to keep the length. When we picked her up our faces must have been priceless as we were in shock. She got that short teddy bear cut that I specifically asked not to have. ALL of her wonderful long hair is gone. She looks like a completely different dog. Her top coat is completely gone. I really hope her fur grows out to the fluffy coat it was before. I will use their grooming services for nails and bathing only but will never use them for cuts again. read more

I never thought I would be writing a negative review for this store, but here we are. I brought my greyhound Jack in for a grooming appointment this morning. The ladies in grooming greeted us very warmly as they always have. I normally just bring him in for a nail trim, but had decided to go all out and get him bathed and his teeth brushed as well as his nails. When I returned to get him, Jack was fluffy and clean, I can't fault them on that. Besides trying to return my dog to me on a slip leash instead of his own collar and leash, Jack has a giant scrape on his back spanning the length of two vertebrae. the groomers mentioned 'he must have bumped it getting in the kennel'. Jack is large for his breed, and I have never been able to fit him into a kennel of any size. I can not imagine the amount of energy it must have taken to get him into a kennel that is not meant for such a large dog. I am extremely unhappy with this, especially considering that my greyhound is a senior. He is also a white dog, so the scrape on his back stained his fur pink. I usually love the groomers at this store, but I will never bring him in for anything more than a nail trim after today's experience. A scrape like that can often mean stitches for a greyhound and an eleven year old dog does not deserve the stress of an injury nor the mistreatment of being forced into a kennel that is too small for him. My boyfriend and I were also either in the store or in the store's parking lot during his appointment, so there was no reason not to contact me with an issue. A very minor disappointment in comparison, Petco is downsizing their stock of Iams foods because demand is so high for more natural and raw diets. I can still get my puppy's food, but poor Jack's Senior Pro Health is no longer being carried and it is the only food his sensitive tummy can handle. Since I will have to find his food at another store entirely, we will probably not return to this Petco location. read more

I have shopped at this store for many years because it is convenient and usually has what I need. On Sunday afternoon, May 2nd, I was in the fish dept and observed the middle aged male clerk being very hostile towards a customer. The customer was a mother and her little girl probably about 8 years old. They were looking to buy some of the inexpensive (feeder) goldfish. The clerk was speaking at them in a loud voice complaining he didn't want to sell them fish just so they could take them home and kill them. He made other comments that could only be described as condescending and hostile. The customer was very quiet, luckily the little girl did not appear to realize what as happening. I left the store and will never shop there again. I only wish I had been quick enough to record the incident. This employee could not have been more rude, clearly being the worst kind of bully. This experience deserves no stars! read more

Some of the greatest staff you could find. At one time I had fourteen animals, ten of them from this store. They were all very healthy and happy when I got them, and of course even happier once they had a home of their own and spoiled like crazy, but Petco and the staff helped me take such great care of them. I did have trouble with a veiled chameleon but it ended up being my fault because they are so sensitive and I made a small mistake in setting up the cage. Crickets and worms from here are almost always alive and good to feed to your pet, not too common honestly. Their staff is always ready to help you, and they will spend as much time as you need to make sure you understand everything. They have a great selection of dog food. I've always been able to find what I need here, except for dog crates. I will say I've had to go elsewhere for those. read more

I found this Petco near by. Where I was able to pick up 4 puzzle toys, a new harness, leash and was offered free dog treats from the cashier (who was wonderful with my dog and purchase) ... Another worker (I assume a manager) even stopped to help me pick out EVERYTHING I needed for my dog (which took a while) I explained she was shy from what had happened at Petsmart minutes prior (an un neutered male dog tried to attack my dog in Petsmart and the staff did NOTHING to devolve the repeated attempt) .... he then squatted on the floor and sat with my dog calming her and comforting her tossing treats to her... Explained every toy they had to offer that my dog may like and his opinion of ones he had gotten for his dogs at home... Needless to say I was extremely happy with the experience and help I received at Petco... Thank goodness they where near by so I could get what I needed and by the time I had left my dog returned to her wonderful happy state... THANK YOU PETCO staff...! read more

Went to Petco in everett and I was sad to see how dirty the cages are for the animals. The cages were overfilled with feces and it smelled really bad. I bought two pets from this place and they both were sick and died in a short period of time. A place that claims to care for animals should be in a lot better shape than this. Hope something can be done for the poor suffering animals that have to live day in and day out in these filthy conditions. Be sure to complain to the owners of this petco they are not taking proper care for these animals. Where are the animal rights activist when you need them. read more

I took my Sheltie here to be groomed today and everyone was very friendly, relaxed, and informative. My dog looked great and happy and seemed to enjoy her experience with the groomer named Ashley. The only thing I didn't care for was a price change for my NEXT visit. They honored the phone-quoted $34 price for today's grooming service, but said that next time it would be $44 because they had incorrectly quoted me the price for a 30-lb. mixed breed when I called on the phone to make the appointment the day before. Hmmmmm.....could this be a bait and switch tactic? I don't know. Even at $44, I believe it's still a good price for a very beautiful job (by Ashley) and I refuse to pay the $50 - $85 other area groomers have quoted me over the phone to groom a 30-lb Sheltie who doesn't need much in the way of clipping at all. It's just ridiculous in these economic times. The end result is the same and we all know that competitive pricing is so important today. read more

My husband and I just adopted our beautiful dog Sadie. We went into Petco to find some needed items and talk with someone about grooming. We were met by a wonderful lady in the grooming area who was a wealth of information and was extremely excited to meet our girl. We were so pleased with her that we booked an appt right away for this week and can not wait to see how beautiful our little girl comes out. We will be visiting this store often. I have been unable to find a brand of cat food in the 15# size in Seattle. I was told that the only supply was in Everett. I called the Everett store. They had two bags of food. Brandon, the store manager, offered to drop them off in Seattle two days later when he came through for an appointment. I have been taking my dogs here for a few years. Last week I had my dogs in for their normal groom. From the start there was nothing normal about this trip. The girl asking questions about their cuts made no sense, she didn't understand what I was saying I wanted done. The other girl in the salon had to explain what I meant. When I came back to pick up my dogs she hurried out with another dog and let someone give us our dogs... No big deal they were busy right? Wrong! To my surprise later that day I noticed when my dog kept licking his belly that she had sliced his nipple and left razor scraps on his belly! I was very upset! So I waited to call... My husband finally said that was enough waiting and called a couple of days later. They never even apologized, just wanted to know why he didn't call immediately... Well if we had called right away things would have turned ugly! That groomer had the nerve to hurt one of our babies and not mention it to us. We were refunded our money for the groom but never an apology, just excuses why she could have done it. If only the girl had come to me when I picked up my dog and said she was sorry I could have understood accidents happen but to do it and run away then have the manager act like a B! No Way! They have lost all of our business FOREVER! What happen to good customer service? read more

this is one of my favorite of the larger chain pet stores because why? it's clean, well stocked, and everything is in its place. staff are always friendly and helpful. they carry a nice variety of dog beds and dog essentials. i only wish they carried Avoderm brand dogfood again. i would give five stars if their prices weren't so expensive. The grooming at Petco is absolutely great. Krista is not only the best, but she really knows dogs and I keep going to her for advise. She is incredible. If i could give no stars i would. After having our dogs groomed on a Friday afternoon our small Yorkie Alice was a bit more snorty than normal. We remembered she had a similar reaction the last time we had her groomed a few months earlier and just thought she had some hair in her throat. It had gone away after a day, no big deal. This time she was the same but slightly stained breathing when exited the following day(Saturday). by the end of the day she wasn't getting any better and we had planned to get her checked out on Sunday. Before we new it she was going down hill fast at when we went to go to bed Saturday night. We went to bed and tried calming her down as i was able to the night before. Nothing would sooth her and moving her made it even worse. Before we could even think of rushing her to and Urgent Care Vet she stopped breathing all together and was gone. I hate to place blame on anyone but after some research the symptoms were pretty evident she was suffering form a collapsed trachea possibly(most likely) from being leashed too tight while getting groomed. I cant explane the pain my family and i are sharing right now. its had enough writing this review as i shake violently. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE TO GET GROOMED! Now I can only blame myself for not knowing the symptoms ahead of time and reacting before it was too late. read more
