Got here in the morning just in time to catch the "aquatic expert" on the floor. I needed a new mini fish tank and a brand new filter as my fishys keeps on going belly-up. Floor staff gave good recommendation and even informed me what types of snails may get rid of dirt and algae in the tank. He mentioned Algae eaters are not really meant to be in small tanks and wouldn't really clean the tank. I was actually looking into some Tetra's but staff said to go with the Guppies instead, and even gave me two baby snails for free. All the recommendations the staff gave- I took. So far, so good- my guppies are alive and well and those snails have grown so big now. Overall, this location has many items in stock

I order the dog dry food from petco two day before, and I received the food expire day is 11/22/2020. Normally we're order from chewy, it's first time order dry food from petco. My dog don't eat the dry food, so We usually use the coffe blender grind it to the powder, when we finish whole bag two blender is broken, and I see the expire day is 11/22/2020. When I call petco ask if I didn't check, if my dog eat, Who will bear this responsibility!Petco just repeat we already refund the dog food money to you, don't want to answer my question! I mention that now is not this problem, is Who will bear this responsibility, then petco only repeat we already refund the money to you. I'm so angry, why petco do like this! I will never every order from petco, hope people see my message and check everything from petco! Don't let you pet( family members) eat the expire food!

After getting some relatively cheap (or cheaper than my usual vet) annual vaccines for my dog, I wanted to get my dog groomed. Couldn't take her the day of the vaccinations, no big deal, brought her back in 2 weeks later. The people who work at this Petco are friendly, but unfortunately that's about where the positivity ends. My partner and I joked about it, but we realized that both the first time and second time (on the second visit) we went up to the grooming center desk, the women working there immediately went to the back almost as if they wanted to ignore us. On both occasions another employee asked "are you being helped?" and shortly after the grooming center employees reappeared like magic. We did the grooming package with the works (honestly I forget which but it was about $80 for a bath, brushing, nail trim, paw balm, etc.) and we were really excited to have our dog's paws trimmed and cleaned. She does not require a haircut but she does need to be brushed out as she sheds a lot. After about 2 hours we were told we could pick her up. When we arrived they told us that she didn't like having her paws touched so they didn't trim them too much. That was pretty disappointing considering it was half of the purpose of the trip. At other grooming places they would just put a muzzle on and work quickly and help her relax; mind you she doesn't even bite (never has) but I understand being worried with a new dog. Unfortunately that meant her nails were hardly trimmed and she still had tufts of fur between her pads, though I will say the pads seemed softer and less rough. We started petting her and noticed that she still had plenty of excess fur coming off of her, as if they didn't brush her fur out.. but she did smell clean so at least there was that. The most concerning thing was that she also came out with a scrape on her hind leg. It wasn't dripping blood but it looked like she was definitely scraped by something while there because she didn't have this mark on her before. Overall it was a disappointing and unprofessional experience. I will take her back to the grooming place closer to my home and pay a little bit more for an immensely better experience.

The blood from where he was cut and they didn't tell me anything about it.

This is only a review of the grooming. I have a 2 year old maltipoo and I admit I hadn't brushed him enough prior to his appointment. I get that. The groomers first said she could keep the hair on his face and tail. I dropped him off at 9am and they didn't finish with him until 4pm. I called 5 times around 12:30 (no answer) and even came back to the store around 1:30 and they told me it would be another 2 hours and my dog was "taking a break". When I picked my dog up he was shaved completely. Face, tail, everything. They shaved the whiskers on his face too, which is extremely unprofessional because dogs NEED THEIR WHISKERS. My dog has been shaking since I brought him home and had a cut under his chin. I called and left a voicemail for them because I want to know what happened and they didn't respond. Honestly I get that his hair would need to be cut low, but the lack of communication and professionalism baffles me. There's no reason for his whiskers to be cut. There's no reason for him to come back to me bleeding. And honestly after 3 hours with him they could have called to tell me it would be a long time for them to finish. I shouldn't have had to come back to get that information myself.

I didn't want to waist my time so I call before hand to find out the visit hour and requirement for vaccination. When I got here with my dog, it was a huge line , the veterinarian said that she taking a lunch brake, unfortunately no one tell us about it. The store is huge but for the Vetco program they don't have any place for sit so you sit on the cement floor . After all we wasn't seen by veterinarian she took people after us which was unprofessional and rude ,she just said that she will not give my dog any vaccine When I called the Manager she behave like that when I started taking her Video. The vet care is affordable but when the Human factor is missing you don't want to waist your time there .

    Cute lil birdies!! Tweet!

I really like this store! They have a cute selection of everything you don't need, but need to have (lol). Plus, there is private parking, a unique treat in Brooklyn!! 2 stories have a vet, groomer, tons of fishies, pet food galore, and so so many cute things that you will impulse buy for sure!!

I spent 1.5 hours in the pouring rain w Anthony as we walked Benny into the field, where he was off-leash and learning how to follow, and also enjoying his time socializing with dogs. Anthony impressed upon me how important social play is for dogs to PURGE THE ENERGY out. Not going to lie, i LOVE to walk with dogs, and sitting around while THEY play was not my thing. LOL. WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE it has made. Benny is a great walker now (not pulling 90% of the time). He knows how to act when other dogs walk by us as he is rewarded to meet them after behaving! He's doing so well. Still a little touchy on the running toddlers and guarding, but I am confident we'll get there thanks for Anthony's guidance! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, especially for new pups and rescue dogs!

For context, I have a 2 year old anxious labradoodle named Gus. When he was approached by new people he would aggressively bark and growl. I had worked with another dog trainer for over a year -- his problems just became worse. I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

He was friendly to everyone when we first brought him home, but within a month or so he became aggressive and bit 8 people without being provoked. I hired 2 different trainers, both of which were bitten by Taz and recommended getting a sedative/relaxant prescription from the vet in order to train him. I couldn't get his attention and he was all over the place on walks, doing whatever he pleased. I was distressed at the thought of not being able to train him and having to send him back to the shelter. Then we started working with Twahlee and we finally saw changes in Taz's behavior. He is a great teacher, very patient and breaks down all the intricacies of dog training into small and manageable steps for the everyday person. Anytime we had a new issue, he always was able to give us a reason why it was happening and specific steps we could take to fix it. He has a great understanding of behavioral problems with dogs and a good system to change and manage those problems. I'm proud to say after a year and 10 classes training with Twahlee, Taz is now a good little boy! He's able to be off leash in the park, he can walk near people and other dogs without reacting, and he has excellent obedience. The training really changed mine and Taz's life - it could have ended very differently for Taz if we didn't get help from Twahlee.

I bought a package for my then-11-yr-old Puli, who I'd recently brought to NY after spending the majority of her life living with my mom in Florida. My dog is quite anxious and barks a lot, and struggled with the transition from living with one person to 8 overnight. I sought Twahlee's help in correcting my dog's anxious tendencies because at this stage of her life, the proper training techniques Twahlee has to offer would have been extremely difficult to implement. He helped give me an array of tools to help teach my dog stronger obedience, which would then lead to greater control over my dog. About 2 years later, I moved into a new home with a housemate who has a dog that can be aggressive with other dogs. Because I hadn't used my entire package, I asked Twahlee if there was a chance he could come by and apply one of my pre-paid classes to visit our home and assess how the two dogs exist in the home. He let me know that packages expire after one year, but that he would come anyway, because ultimately he just wants to help others. This was highly generous of him to do, and I'm extremely grateful for his flexibility. At the end of the day, choosing to work with a trainer is less so to train your dog than to train yourself on how to better manage your pet, and Twahlee did a great educating me on areas I could be doing better. His help and kindness over the last few years has been greatly appreciated, and I can say with great confidence he can make a meaningful difference in every dog and trainer's life.
