I stopped at this location and looked at their kittens. There were about 7 all with horrible crusted eyes, which I understand happens but the litter boxes were full and COVERED IN GNATS. The cashier Rebecca rung up my things wrong. I ordered three DIFFERENT aquatic plants. She rung them up as the same three aquatic plants and decided they were all the same price when they were not and then did not even give me a receipt so I spent way more than I needed to, and I didn't realize until after I already paid for it but she didn't give me a receipt so I can't just get it back. I come to this location regularly as they are the closest location to get food for my bearded dragon. I usually to wait about 15-20 minutes every time I need crickets. I either have to search for an employee on the floor to see if they can help, which they are usually begrudgingly to do, or ask the cashier while I wait for 15-20 minutes while also inquiring several times until someone finally helps me. If there was another pet store close by that sold the same live bugs I would definitely use them as this has been an issue for months. read more

The store itself is usually stocked ok, I go here for grooming and my dog loves it! A little pricey for what she gets done as it's just a bath but the service is still good. Checking out here can be really annoying though, sometimes the line can get very long and it's difficult to run in and out quickly to just buy a bag of dog food. Vetco appointments are easy to schedule online as are grooming appointments. Not a bad location but would love shorter checkout times! read more

Probably one of my least favorite experiences in a Petco - this will be one that I try to avoid. My struggle was the service - it took forever to catch a staff member's attention and I had to go find someone to get any help. Then when I found her, she was doing something with the birds so she said she would be with me in a few and honestly it was not a few. Still I needed some feeder minnows for my turtle and had already wasted the time here so I did not want to go somewhere else at this point. On top of it the check out was unbelievably slow and the woman who was checking people out made no eye contact and didn't really engage. She kept checking what looked like her phone but I also think that it was business related. Just not a great experience. read more

I got a new snake from a reptile show in the area. I went to this specific Petco location in Bellvue, NE, to get food and decorations for my new snake. I asked an employee a question about heating mats and casually mentioned putting it at the bottom of the tank, and the employee cut me off and told me my heating mat need to go at the top of my reptile's tank. I wasn't sure, but she reassured me and told me she also owned reptiles. I now know this is not true and heat mats should always go at the bottom, because heat rises. But not until after I put the heat mat at the top. I found my snake, half frozen to death. He was as cold as ice water and barely moving. I had to hold him against my skin and a heated blanket to manually warm him without sending him into shock. Once he was warmed, I was livid. I called the location, and a man answered the phone. He said, "That is incorrect information" (referring to the information the previous employee gave me) and did not even sound sorry for one of their employees wrong information almost killing my reptile. Gaylin (a manager, I assume) was extremely rude towards me for accidently walking into the main store from the grooming area when they were closed (I didn't realize they were closed cause grooming was open per my 9 am appointment). The automatic front doors were open when I walked in but locked when I tried to leave the store through the grooming area so I entered the main store in hopes that they would open from that area - again, not realizing the main store was closed. I was confronted with a hostile man sternly telling me "you can't just walk into the store when we are closed!!!" Horrible, horrible customer service and I will not step foot inside this establishment again. A simple "ma'am, we are closed, can I help you get out the front door" would suffice. Came in yesterday to purchased a betta fish, I woke up this morning and the fish had unfortunately passed away due to a broken heater (also purchased at this location yesterday) and the water temp read 65 when I woke up. I was very upset and the sales associate actually said "can't believe you killed our betta" as I'm red in the face from crying because I feel SO AWFUL. He refused to exchange the fish or the heater because I forgot my receipt. Any animal that comes into my home I strive to provide more than adequate care. For an associate to not only refuse to exchange the fish OR the faulty heater (which I understand because I didn't have my receipt) but then proceed to poke fun at a customer holding a dead animal no matter the size is a bit much for me. I asked for the store manager and someone named David will then tell you the associate should made that up. I asked for Corporate offices number and he said yeah go get it off your receipt. I asked the associate for corporate and she just looked at me. There is a reason they out all their fish on sale because they are sick and will die in a week. The store could use some improvements, especially in the fish department. I waited for twenty minutes, not bad considering that the store was packed and there was multiple calls to the fish department, but that's not what makes the review I'm giving so low. The fish tanks did not look very well maintained. There was algae buildup in the gravel and on the backs of the tanks, the fish had noticeable ick, more than half the tanks were under observation, and there were dead fish floating in their tanks being eaten by other fish! The saltwater department didn't look good either, and I don't even keep saltwater fish! When I pointed the dead fish out to one of their employees, she shrugged, sighed, and said I'll get someone to take care of it. Honestly, this used to be my go to fish store when the pink haired girl with glasses was there, but now the fish department doesn't look very clean or maintained without her. I'll be going to a different store now to get my fish. read more

They did the EXACT OPPOSITE of my instructions. I asked for a puppy cut in February, but they shaved my poodle with the shortest blade they use. She was not matted. Her body hair was perfect. She was only taken in because she needed a sanitary trim, feet, and face trim, just a minor smoothing on her body. They followed way they did her last SUMMER, in the computer! Now I have to buy her a coat to wear in the snow, and she looks ridiculous. My pet sitter picked her up, and paid. Despite her bursting into tears when she saw what they did, they offered nothing. read more

If I could give this place a zero or -5 I would! I took my miniature dauchshun in for a grooming at the Bellevue location. Approximately three hours later I got a phone call saying that they accidentally cut my dogs tail off!!!!! It was bleeding profusely for they severed the artery. She informed me that One of the employees was in route with my dog to the emergency vet. Of course my heart was scared and sick with worry. We rushed to the emergency vet to find out that he was indeed missing the end of his tail and that they had to do a surgery on him. Where the cut had taken place was right on bone. There was not enough skin to stitch it closed. So, they had to take away more cartilage so that they would be able to close the wound My dog is in a great deal of pain! They sent him home with antibiotics, very high-powered pain pills, and the cone of shame. The part that kills me is that they didn't even groom him! He looks exactly the same as he did when I dropped him off minus his tail! Although Petco did pay for the Vet bill and waved the grooming fee ( even though he was never groomed) it's just is not enough. My dog is wounded physically and emotionally. Petco is a great place to shop for your animal friends! I go here all the time if I'm in need of something right away. They definitely have everything I need! From guinea pig food and treats to dog food and supplies, petco has it all! The staff here is also very friendly and helpful and will ask if you need help if they are to pass by you. What I also love about this petco is that they always have animals for adoption here. No, not just the kind you buy from them, but animals who are from a humane society who are in need of a loving and caring home because they were given up for reasons unknown. I adopted a bunny from this location a few years ago and just am so happy I found him :) read more

Unfortunately it is very hard for me to give this place a good review. Earlier this month, I went to Petco to get our dog a bag of Taste of the Wild dog food. I was standing in a very long line waiting to check out. There was a lady in front of me who decided to buy crickets, so the cashier had to leave his station and try to catch crickets. In the meantime, the line was getting longer and with the COVID and social distancing, the line was bad. He paged for help a couple of times and was getting frustrated, and finally a young girl, came to the front. She was a little bit unhappy. She rang me up and I left the store. After leaving, I noticed on my receipt that I was charged $32.08. The dog food that I bought was 16.04. I was double charged. This same bag of dog food can be purchased at Bomgaars or Pet's Earth for 4 dollars cheaper. I should have gone to one of those places, but I was in a hurry. I went back to the store. The Manager really wasn't that apologetic, just mentioned "oh, you were double charged" like it was a pretty standard thing, but he did give me a prompt refund of 16.04, which I appreciated. Did I learn my lesson? No, because I returned to the store again this week. This time to buy Parakeet food and millet. There was another man looking at Parakeet food and he said to me, "Wow...I'm in the wrong business, look at these prices!" No kidding! A small bag of millet was 4.99 and the smallest bag of parakeet food 2.5 lbs was 8.99. I told him next time plan ahead and order off Amazon to avoid these prices. Really the only benefit from Petco is getting the food immediately if you are in a hurry. Anyway, I headed to the register and the same young girl was at the register. She rang me up for 14.96 and the register froze. The software froze at the authorization screen of charging my card. I understand that is of no fault of the cashier. It's bad software / bad credit card processor gateway, but the Manager came up, rebooted the software and told me to reprocess my card again. I am very hesitant, knowing how I was double charged last time, but he tells me my card was not authorized. I paid for my purchase and left. Today, once again, my bank is showing a double charge. I'm going to wait a couple of days to make sure it's not an authorization that is going to drop off my card, but yeah....I am not happy. This will be my last purchase from Petco, which is sad, because I appreciate their assistance to rescues. I think they should talk to their corporate office about getting new software. read more

Please do not take your dog to be groomed here. I am unfortunately dealing with a bit of a nightmare. I have received two very good grooms from this location prior to this present time. My dog was burned on his private areas. I was called to come pick him up because he needed to be sedated to be groomed. THIS has never happened before. EVER. After seeing his burns, I'm sure he was moving a lot. This makes me so sad to see this...I would not take any dog now here. read more

Not 100% sure I will return for grooming. I would usually groom my dog myself as I have been grooming for over 3 years. I am VERY pregnant and I can hardly tie my own shoes which is why I sought out grooming here. I worked in Petco grooming in CA before I moved to the Omaha area a few months ago and it felt familiar and safe and I knew (thought) my dog would be in good hands. Anyway, I took my 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog in for a bath with de-shedding treatment and I also asked for nail buffing. This is a procedure that takes me personally about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete on my dog and most other dogs, depending on their size. I dropped my dog off at 8am and she was not ready until almost 1pm. I did not get a call to pick her up. I called twice myself to check on her because it has never taken me 5 hours to wash and brush one dog. After working at Petco previously, I had expected a prompt phone call as that is what you are supposed to do in their salon as an employee. Having dogs wait around in kennels for hours is unpleasant for pretty much everyone involved, especially the dog. So that's problem #1. Problem #2 is that my dogs nails were not buffed, however I was charged for it. It looked like they had tried to do her front paws and only got 3 or 4 of them completely done and then gave up on the rest. Not cool. I even told them that if my dog was being difficult for the buffing, as I know she can be, DON'T do it, I will do it myself later or have my husband do it. They also did not even touch the back paws with the buffer. I know it's only $5 extra but I don't really appreciate them going against what I had recommended for my own dog and then going ahead and charging me for it. Problem #3 is the worst of all. When I returned home with my dog I had noticed some blood on the tile floor in my kitchen. I picked up her front paws and noticed the same paw pads on each foot were bleeding a little. Lifting up her feet made her squeal so they obviously still hurt and had a small trickle of blood flowing out of the area. I'm not really sure how this happened in context of grooming. It seemed like the nail buffer may have slipped while they were trying to buff them and then cut the backs of her paw pads. Maybe they brushed her legs too hard? I don't know, but again, after working at Petco grooming before, if you even THINK that you injured someones' dog in the process of grooming, you TELL THEM IMMEDIATELY. I was not appreciative of finding these injuries on my dog on my own and definitely not okay with the fact that she was injured in the first place. On the positive side, the de-shedding treatment worked and was done well and thoroughly. She did not shed at all for at least 2 weeks after receiving it. It also has allowed me to keep up with the shedding with my own Furminator brush, eliminating the need to go back for another treatment for a long time. I also got to shop in the store for some things I needed and was generally pretty impressed with how clean it was. I was able to find everything that I needed easily and both the grooming and store employees were very friendly. While I am impressed with the quality of my dogs' de-shed treatment, I'm still not sure if I would trust going back here after finding bloody spots on her paw pads and waiting 5 hours for a 1 hour job. I know how crazy things can get back there, but it is always okay to call and give a pet parent a heads up that it might take a bit longer than expected. And it is definitely a must to call as soon as the dogs are done otherwise pet owners worry and dogs' anxiety only gets worse the longer they sit in a kennel. Finally, call and/or tell someone that you think you may have injured their dog as soon as it happens! I cannot stress how grateful I would have been to know this beforehand and would not have even been mad in the first place if the groomer was honest with me! I have almost never had a bad experience telling a pet owner about something that happened during the grooming process. I know some people can get really upset and may even try to insist on a free service and be difficult about it but the bottom line is this: they deserve to know if something happens to their pet while they are in someone else' care. read more

My favorite feature of Petco is it lets you use double coupons. They sell a coupon calendar at the beginning of the year for $15, but if you wait until the spring, it sells for $5. It features a lot of free trial sizes of various items. Most importantly, a $10 off coupon for full grooming service. Grooming service is pretty good. It includes a haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning, and bath. I've taken both of my dogs here for months and am pretty happy with the service. You can also get 5% back in reward dollars. read more

Doesn't seem like the groomer that works on our dog is very reliable as this is a recurring problem. Let's just say that it is 1 appointment out of 5 will go as scheduled. Took my Australian shepherd to the grooming salon at this location. I have always taken him to Petco for all his grooming needs but this time was the best experience hands down. This was our second time at this location and after the first time, I was hesitant to go back. Immediately when we walked through the doors I knew something had changed and the staff/groomers were enthusiastic and listen to my concerns about previous grooming experiences. Samantha was great! She was two steps ahead and she seemed to really enjoy what she does. She did everything from informing to confirming. It was amazing how calm and relaxed my Aussie was after his appointment. Last time he was kenneled at the Petco grooming station for half a day before they started, I kid you not, making his grooming session from 9 or 10 a.m. all the way to 4-5 p.m. This time, he was taken in immediately and was done in just 2.5 hours! Once again, the staff was amazing! Really enjoyed Samantha and the other groomer working today. Definitely going back if they are there! read more

I drop off my dog for grooming at 11:00am. They said they would have her ready no later than 2:00pm. I called them at 3:00pm thinking maybe they forgot to call me. They said that they would done by 3:45pm. I stop by at 4:10pm Pretty upset by that time!!! They laughed went I showed up and said we might have her ready at 5:00. I said give my dog right now and they said you have to pay before.... I ask why would I pay she said we gave her a bath. $33.00 and 5 hours later I got my dog and no grooming. I've been very impressed with this place overall. We just got a dog a few months ago and Petco has been our go-to place for our dog. They just have so much to offer. First, they have socialization groups on Saturdays and Sundays (for an hour each day). This has been a great (and free) experience for our dog, and has allowed him to learn how to interact with other dogs. Second, they have tons of things for our dog (e.g., toys, tags, food, etc.). What I like best about this store is that if you buy something your dog doesn't like, you can return it (even if he/she has tried it out). Third, I was impressed that one day they didn't have what I needed in terms of the squeezable peanut butter, so one of the workers gave me a huge sample for free (which was amazing). Finally, I've been really impressed with their grooming. We took our dog here about two months ago and they did a great job. We also got a great deal on the grooming because we took advantage of the coupon book they give to new adoptees (just bring in your adoption paperwork to get the coupon book). In addition to the coupon book, we've enjoyed various discounts by signing up for their rewards program. All-in-all, we couldn't be happier with this Petco. read more

Gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to go there, assured thy would be careful. Monday I got her back with burns to 3 of 4 paws. She limps and doesn't want to even walk. I called tonight to speak with management and the manager on duty couldn't care less, no apology, nothing. My roommate brought his Shih Tzu in to the Bellevue Petco today to be groomed. I know he brought her in for a bath and a trim. When he brought her home, she is SHAVED! You can see all the way down to the freckles that are on her back. Why is it when you tell a dog groomer to TRIM a dog -they grab the clippers and butcher the dog. The groomer even cut the hair that was on her tail, there was no reason to cut her tail. It was not matted or anything. It just seems to me that the groomers run the pets through like an assembly line and the more you push through, the more money you make. That is just wrong. read more

I called and was told they were working on him. It was after 5:00 before he was finished. When I picked him up the girl was rude. I wish I could post a separate review for the store vs the pet grooming salon because as far as the store goes I give a 4 star rating but the pet groom salon I would never recommend. First I was quoted one price on the phone when I called and when I got there it was a completely different price. I could have overlooked that had they not done such a horrible job on my dog. I asked specifically for just a hair trim and he was shaved down to the skin and had nicks all over him. Never in my life had I seen such a horrible haircut. It was his first time there and it will be his last. I do not recommend this place at all for grooming services. read more

This Petco has lost our business for good. The product selection is good and the store staff is friendly, but the grooming staff/services are beyond terrible. Our dog has extreme anal gland issues and must be expressed monthly. If not she gets very sick and uncomfortable and begins leaking fluid that ruins anything it touches. We have a groomer and a vet that takes care of this monthly for us, but this month her glands filled up quicker than normal. We woke up this morning and found she was in her sick/uncomfortable demeanor and was leaking fluid. We then verified with the sniff test that indeed her glands were full. Unfortunately it is Sunday and neither our groomer nor our vet is open so we opted for Petco. When we called they said they could do an anal gland expression and bath first thing when they open. So we took her in as soon as they opened. Over 3 hours later they called and said she was ready. I picked her up and asked about her glands. The staff member/tech said she didn't have anything in her glands and therefore only charged me for the bath. I asked if she was positive and she said yes, she attempted multiple times. So, they lied about the glands, they took 3 hours, and charged me $38 + tax for a bath, a BATH, that I could have done for less than $1 and 10 minutes at the house. Now I'm out almost $40 and still have to schedule and pay another groomer to properly express her glands. Oh, and I forgot to mention, they brought out the wrong dog at first when I asked for my dog. I could have just walked off with someone else's pup if I wanted to. I highly, highly suggest you go elsewhere for pet services.. this place is atrocious. Just read the Google reviews on this store... supposedly a customer had their dog die from an infection they got by this groomer. read more

If this had only happened once I would let it slide and I did but it's happened twice and I'm disappointed...we bought our Granddaughter a fish tank for her birthday, we spoke with a girl at Petco,(I wish I had her name because she was great) well, when the tank was ready to add the fish we came in and let our Granddaughter pick out what she wanted only to be told they couldn't sell them because of a bad batch of fish (the tanks we chose from had no markings or signs that these fish were not available for sale) we were told the new batch would be in the following week. We went to PetSmart to get our first 4 fish. Then over this past weekend we went back to PetCo (because they are usually so helpful and we like the store) to let our Granddaughter add a couple more fish, we took 10 to 15 minutes to pick out more fish, then had to go find someone in another department to get our new fish and when they came over we were told that the fish had "ick" and could not be sold. Again there were no signs on the tanks we chose fish out of. So, for the second time we left the store with no fish and an upset little girl. Again we went to PetSmart in Papillion and she choose her fish. So, from now on we will go to PetSmart for everything needed for our new fish tank and future fish purchases even though we live in Bellevue and PetCo is closer. And as a side note I will add that what looked like the store manager was standing by the door as we were walking out talking about going to another store and did not try to see if there was a problem. read more
