You want to buy dead or soon to be dead fish, get yours from this cesspool. Most of the staff are rude and entitled and do not fear any consequence for destroying their employers business. When you tell them you want to buy a fish, they hate it, seem bothered by the act of needing to catch a fish, and they will act rude to ensure you never come back as a fishkeeper. Their tanks are disgusting, they never clean the gravel, no wonder their entire rack system is infected and has been continuously for over a year. Save your money.

And I am glad I made the trek during my lunch break. - Called in 1st before coming & friendly staff (thanks, M!) was already helpful over the phone. She even offered to set aside food samples for my dog to try. - When I got there, same friendly & knowledgeable staff already had paper bag ready for me to take, and I picked up some more items and was provided with more samples. - I was also told of their food guarantee - if my dog did not like it, I can take it back. - This 1st visit was so easy & fast for pick up! - My dog has tried one of the samples for dinner - and so far it's a hit. - It looks like we will be back. - Note: This place carries a load of Canada made food - frozen raw food and freeze dried, and dry and wet food. They also deliver for a certain amount of merchandise & for a small fee.

He returned to the store, to claim his free bag - and they tell him "Sorry - the deal had expired". He was to claim the free bag before the end of August. Bad Experience:…read more What was supposed to be a fun day for my son and choosing his first pet hampster today with the money he saved turned out to be a very bad experience. We went into the PetSmart in Kanata on his school break, we spoke to the associate Brianna about purchasing a dwarf hamster because my daughter bought one the previous week she informed us that they can't live together in the same cage. I said ok and asked some more questions, she then told me I would need to buy its own cage and she told me their cages ranged from $80-$100 I went to look at them, but then decided to check another stores website and I found a kit for $40. I went back to Brianna and told her we wanted to purchase the hampster and we were going to get the cage on the way home and she said NO, go do your shopping and come back. I told her that would not work for us because I needed to stop on my way home because my son needs to get back for his school. She said NO again and that was my only option. We ended up leaving and at this point my son was crying and I did not want to purchase from PetSmart but he was so upset that I decided to drive him home, go out by the cage then return back to buy it. Again I got Brianna and she was very rude asking my over and over did you buy a cage, I eventually responded back yes as I was signing my paperwork. First things first my son's experience was ruined because I ended up having to chose the hampster & secondly the treatment I received because I would not purchase the cage from her was unacceptable. My mom had made the appointment and since it's much closer to home, I decided to check it out. Upon entry, it's nice to see that it's a nicely sized store- not too big or too small, just right...and there are two cats that kinda roam free and hang out (aka they nap at the front and chill). I think it was a good indication that it's not a chaotic place since animals can be really sensitive to that kinda thing. When I met the groomer, I explained my crazy and over protective pet parent concerns, and they listened attentively and helped to ease my mind. Gizmo was very excitable but he didn't seem nervous- that also reassured me because I cared more about his experience than my own. The grooming process took between 2.5-3 hours, which I think has been pretty standard in my experience. Gizmo smelled and looked amazing when he was done, freshly groomed puppies are my favourite! The price point isn't bad, either. I was worried it would cost more than my previous spot (PetSmart) but in the end came up about 10-15 dollars less. Amazing! Gizmo seems really happy, so I'm sure we will be back again for his next grooming. Kudos!

I dealt with Amanda on my first trip there and she was so helpful, she helped me choose a more adequate pet food for my puppy, as he was having issues with his pet food - Iams - and was just not feeling it (and he loved it !). They have a Free Food Program, with purchase of a certain amount of bags of food you get a free bag (varies according to brand purchased). As well as option of delivery ! They bring their pets into the store, and encourage you to do so as well. They're usually great with processing returns, though they will take your receipt and not provide a copy, so make sure you've brought in everything you needed to return. Only one bad experience. We had to return a leash and later a faulty collar, but we'd returned the leash first and got burned on the $10 collar, even though it was 100% guaranteed by the manufacturer, and it wasn't our first choice (we were going to go with leather, but let the salesperson convince us to buy the synthetic collar because of the guarantee), because they'd already taken our receipt. At least they donated the collar to a shelter, though not sure how much good it will do, since the tightener slips. Occasionally, you'll get a miss with their advice (as above), so remember that you know your pet and they don't if you're not-so-sure about their recommendation, and go with your gut. That small annoyance aside, the people who own and work at this store are wonderful. They truly care about your pet's well-being. They were incredibly helpful and supportive when my childhood cat was in her last days, offering very good advice to help me make her as comfortable as possible. When my partner and I adopted our adult husky mix, they offered great advice that was truly appreciated, and they continue to do so. A great business, and I will continue to shop with them first for anything our dog or our newly adopted cat needs, from food to nail trimmers, to toys.
