Immediately left of the entrance is the adoption center where they have kitties up for adoption. The workers were tending to the kitties and trying to keep them entertained with toys and they were allowed to run around in the adoption room which was super cute. They also carry all manner of fishes here. Right now they have Halloween decorations in a lot of the tanks which are really cute. One of them was a little tombstone that said "Flushed too soon". There were also hermit crabs and tiny shrimps for sale. They also had a big display of bettas. Most of them looked like they were in good health. There was actually one that was on its side but pranked us and started swimming off as we were about to go speak with an employee. They also had care instructions available to read along the display. We visited the small rodent section where there were guinea pigs, skinny pigs (the naked ones!), gerbils, and hamsters. It's just the beginning of fall now but I saw dog costumes already for sale. There were also cold weather items like jackets by Upper Canada Pooch and booties already on display.

on my adventure to find more local fish stores, i recently visited planted aquaria in oakville and…read morewas pleasantly surprised by how much this smaller shop has to offer. despite its compact size, they carry an impressive range of high-quality products, including chihiros stuff, which i rarely see in other stores. it's clear that they've curated their inventory with care. the store is split into two levels: upstairs is where you'll find equipment and a selection of plants, while downstairs houses their main collection of plants and fish. the variety of aquatic plants really stood out to me--not only is the selection extensive, but the pricing is very reasonable too. while their fish selection isn't the largest, i still managed to find exactly what i was looking for. one thing to note is that there's no parking lot for the store--only paid street parking. so, if you're coming by car, be prepared to pay for parking. if you're into aquascaping or simply need good quality aquarium supplies, this shop is definitely worth checking out!
