I hired the valley pet sitters to come for an extra day and came home a day later thinking my cats had at least clean glasses of water and extended my trip. I also left a handwritten note by the glasses of Water saying please do two fresh glasses each time of fridge water. When I got home, there was only two glasses used and both were full of slimy bacteria filled water because they were not cleaned or changed out for over a week. I would not have stayed an extra day if I ever thought for a second the note wouldn't have been read or the notes online that say use two fresh glasses that are in a pile of fresh clean glasses right by the fridge. even if I did not leave the note, why would anyone ever think cats would drink slimy bacteria infested water they would choose toilet water over a dirty bowl of water. You should always change the dry food bowls before we're feeling and the dishes of water rinsing is not even good enough, but everyone that knows Cats knows this. You're a bad caretaker for cats. If you give them water in any dirty dish, that's disgusting and rude.

We have asked them about behavior, training, socialization, boarding, recovery, schedules - you name it. They've supported him through puppyhood, adolescence, two knee surgeries and recovery, and now adulthood, always adjusting his walkers, sitters, dog pairings and activities based on what's best for him at that stage. They were especially incredible during his surgeries and recovery, helping us think through safe care options, checking in on him, and always prioritizing what was best for Wiley rather than just what services they could provide. They have made introductions, recommended trainers and other trusted professionals, and even offered to reinforce whatever training routines we were working on so that everyone in our dog's life could be consistent. Wiley absolutely adores these people, and that tells us plenty.

Always punctual, friendly, and leaves good notes/pictures in the app. Recently, we got married and asked R+D if they had somebody who could come to the wedding and take lead on watching our dogs during the weekend of events. They sent Sonia who was truly amazing at making sure the dogs were included, but also making sure they were well taken care of and not getting overwhelmed. It was really special having our best friends at the wedding, and Sonia made sure that we did not have to worry about them at all so we could just enjoy the weekend. It's not easy to wrangle 170 pounds combined especially when there's a lot of human food around on tables, dropped morsels on the ground, kids running around, and a ton of special people the dogs get excited to see; but Sonia's calm, cool, collected nature transferred to the pups and they were relaxed and well taken care of and had a great time. Thanks so much!

If I had reviewed Moon Dogs after the first few times we dropped off our dog here, I would have…read moreundoubtedly given it 5 stars. However, after a few short, 3-6 day trips, we left our dog for 2 weeks while we went on our honeymoon in June, and things went poorly. To start with, Morgain made us wait 15+ minutes outside her home (which is in Van Nuys and not in Studio City as Yelp claims) and claimed she had "no idea" what time we were dropping off. Of course, I could have pointed out to her that I had put the drop-off time in the initial booking email AND the follow-up confirmation email, but I decided to let that go...But it was frustrating because we were on our way to the airport and hadn't anticipated such a delay. During our vacation, we didn't get very many photos of our dog, while we were away because she claimed her phone was broken. And then when we came back to pick him up, Morgain again made us wait outside for 10-15 minutes, despite the fact that I had emailed AND texted a half hour before. She didn't apologize but gave some excuse, and then proceeded to hand us our zip-lock baggie (clearly labeled with our dog's name) that had some other dog's kibble in it that looked very different from our dog's food. She rushed us away, but when we got into the car, we noticed our dog had a scab and a patch of missing fur on his nose. Clearly, his nose had been cut and had bled because the scab was dark red dried blood. I texted Morgain to ask what happened, and she claimed she "had no idea" but maybe he scratched it on some bougainvillea in the backyard. Basically, my dog had a gash on his face, and she claims not to have noticed him bleeding. I understand dogs are like little kids and can get scrapes and cuts, but the fact she says she didn't notice and didn't bother to tell us about it is upsetting. Luckily, my dog healed and his fur grew back weeks later. Since that incident in June, we have found another a dog sitter on Rover who has a big yard for our dog to play in but is much better about sending daily photos and keeping a close eye on our dog.

Dog Sitting by Ally - Looking for Travis and Ally! A usual morning occurrence!

Dog Sitting by Ally

I guess it's time for another update because somehow every year I become even more grateful for…read moreAlly and Travis. Lately, I've seen so many heartbreaking stories about doggy daycares: dogs getting hurt, neglected, escaping, or simply not being treated with the love they deserve. Every time I read one, my first thought is the same: thank God Nova has Ally and Travis. Nova has been coming here since he was just 6 months old. He's now about to turn 5, which means they've been part of nearly his entire life. They've watched him grow from a timid, reactive puppy into the confident, happy dog he is today. They know his quirks, his routines, what makes him nervous, what makes him excited, and they have loved every version of him along the way. As dog owners, we all know there are very few people we'd trust with our entire heart. That's what our dogs are. They're not just pets, they're family. And somehow Ally and Travis have earned a level of trust that I didn't even know was possible. I've left Nova with them for the longest periods I've ever left him with anyone, and I've never once laid awake wondering if he was okay. There has never been a moment where I questioned whether he was safe, loved, exercised, or cared for. That kind of peace is priceless, and if you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean. What means the most to me is that Nova makes the choice himself every single time. The second he realizes where we're going, he's beside himself with excitement. If he doesn't get to see Ally or Travis, he cries. When he does, he runs to them without looking back. As someone whose dog was once fearful of people, seeing him love someone that deeply tells me everything I need to know. Dogs don't fake trust. They don't pretend to feel safe. They either do, or they don't. Nova has never questioned whether Ally and Travis are his people. Over the years, they've been there through my work schedule, my vacations, family emergencies, and every moment in between. They have given me something I can never truly repay: the ability to go through life knowing that the biggest piece of my heart is safe. That feeling is something every dog parent hopes to find, and so few actually do. Even if life takes me somewhere else one day, if I'm ever back in town and need someone to watch Nova, there is no question where he's going. I would drive hours just to leave him with Ally and Travis because trust like this isn't replaceable. They're not just our daycare: they're part of Nova's family. If you're scrolling through reviews wondering whether this is the right place for your dog, I hope this helps. Five years later, after hundreds of drop-offs and pickups, I can say with complete confidence that choosing Ally and Travis was one of the best decisions I've ever made for Nova. They have loved him like he was their own, and I will spend the rest of his life being grateful for that.
