Sweetest "cat lady" over here! I was in a jam with 3 cats in my car and a cancelled nail appointment elsewhere. She called me back right away, took care of my kitties' nails and an extra brushing for my fluffy girl Professional and clean location with personal service read more

Samantha is a GEM and incredibly professional. I highly recommend using her especially since she is the owner of the shop and does the treatment on the cat! I trust her 100% with my two rag dolls and immediately understood the investment. She told me my girls had a little fleas (which who knew!?) and my older girl had a bump on her tail and to get it checked out. I am very happy and thankful!!! read more

Trust the specialist. Samantha is an amazing cat groomer. My long-haired old guy gets matts in his underbelly every winter to an alarming degree. Samantha does magic in getting his fur to look good again. He smells so nice after a day at her spa. I'd also like to say as a pet photographer, I had a cat photography shoot at Catington to not only take photos of people and their cats but to raise funds for a kitten rescue. Samantha was a very gracious host and the photos turned out great. We had a fun little party! read more

What a fantastic place! Samantha is awesome and did such a great job with my nervous kitty. I highly recommend Catington and will be a repeat customer!! read more

A day I will never forget is the first time I took my badly matted Persian kitty to Samantha's care. His fur was so matted, it started to form "pelts" closer to his skin. I knew this would not be an easy job since he is a stressed kitty, and I had been traumatized with past grooming appointments that went horribly. Samantha went above and beyond to make the process as stress-free as possible for him. Once he started acting too upset, she was honest and caring, and suggested we came back the next week to complete his full service so the stress would not cause him any harm. I cannot put to words how much I appreciate her for doing that knowing how bad his reactions to stress can get. It truly showed her caring nature and love for pets. This is when I knew I found a gem and an exquisite professional. She makes sure to be informative which is something I value so much. She took time to explain how matting and pelting form, and what steps we can take to maintain their fur at home and not let it get to such extremes. I adore Samantha and her work. She is an absolute sweetheart, who cares deeply for her clients and their well-being. My 3 cats are extremely attached to me, absolutely hate car rides and overall getting out of the home, and Samantha is always willing to make the experience as smooth as possible. She is extremely patient, and honest with her work as well. My three cats have gone to her about three times now, and came back with fabulous results every single time. Their fur also became easier to maintain after we started seeing her. So grateful. Here's the persian kitty in question for cat tax. read more

They did a terrible job and my cat was not happy. Traumatized. I have had to cut many many times. This was the worst.

Samantha is the BEST! I was very hesitant to load my kitties in the car and drive 10 miles...but I LOVED the fact that Samantha specialized in cats only- and that no one else was in the shop at time of appointments. Her shop is immaculate....her personality is a bright spot in this crazy world- and her work was perfect! So neat and clean and just perfect! I had been using a mobile groomer to do sanitary trims on my 2 medium length haired kitties for about a year. As time went on- the groomer's work became sloppier and sloppier- and she never trimmed their nails or cleaned their ears as they indicated they would. It wasn't until we went to Samantha that I realized what a sanitary trim should actually look like!!!! And she trimmed their nails and cleaned up the fuzzy fur on their paws..... And after all the self induced stress- my kitties did just fine in the car! Bailey & Coco say Thank You Samantha! read more

Yesterday was my first time coming to Catington And probably one of the best decisions ive taken this year lol Samantha is such a wonderful and lovely person to talk to. She was so careful and trying to make my cat feel safe since it was his first getting groomed. I was embarrassed cause he has matts but Samantha took care of them without an issue Breezy looked so precious and happy he no longer had matts Cant wait to see her again! read more

Samantha did such an amazing job with my boy!! I have a young Maine Coon who got very matted and pooped on himself while I was out of town for a week, and she fit us into her schedule to make sure he got the quick care he needed. She talked me through the whole thing and why each step was necessary, and why my cat's breed needs semi-regular baths. She also gave me tips on how to brush him at home to prevent such bad mats from forming in the future. I'm definitely planning on coming back to her to make sure my cat stays nice and fresh and mat free! read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Having never had my young cat groomed before, I was very anxious about the whole process, but SO thankful for Catington and Samantha - she is hands down the best out there. Before I even had my first appointment locked in, we spoke on the phone about the process and what I am looking for/what treatment I should initially schedule for. She was super patient, knowledgeable, let me ask a million questions and did not rush me. Once I had my appointment and brought my cat in, it was clear my cat was very uncomfortable after the first few minutes of grooming. Samantha told me she didn't want to stress her out for 2 hours just to get a groom done, so she sent us home and recommended I get some calming meds from the vet - which I did a week later. Samantha was SO flexible and made me feel so relaxed about the whole thing, even though I felt guilty about taking up an appointment spot we didn't end up using! We kept in touch the whole time after, she checked in regularly and I asked more questions, and finally rescheduled her groom after a med test run at home. The second time around went flawlessly!! We were in and out in just under 2 hours, after a dematting treatment, degreasing, and deshedding (along with the usual nails/teeth/cut etc.). It was worth the price 10x over for most wonderful private experience. We also got recommendations on brushes, shampoos, and further care from Samantha. Not to mention the studio is adorable and tranquil, lots of room to wait while the grooming is happening (I worked on my laptop the whole time), clean pristine and is just one cat at a time for the utmost care and attention. My girl has NEVER looked better, and did not seem traumatized from the whole situation so I know she was gentle and kind with her and the studio didn't frighten her much. I can't thank Samantha enough for her kindness and patience. We are so lucky to have met her and will be customers for life - I will never take my cat anywhere else!!! read more

Catington Cat Grooming - Pet Groomers Near Me - Sherman Oaks, California

A miracle worker - really !! I have a 15 year old diabetic cat who can no longer take care of himself. He's all matted and flaky and nearly balding in patches. I brought him to the vet to shave his matted areas so he'd be more comfortable and they had to anesthetize him and he looked sickly all shaved. As the hair grew back in -it matted again and I actually tried to bathe him several times to help him out, but he still looked awful , flaky and was all tangled . Today we brought Omalley to Samantha and she gave us back a beautiful fluffy cat with the hair of a kitten, it's absolutely incredible. He's so happy and soft. She used an oil treatment and a tail treatment. Whatever she did she is a true miracle worker , no balding spots , no flakiness just soft full fluff and I so appreciate her !!! read more

I found this cat groomer because of the rave reviews here on Yelp and because it is close to my house and boy, I am so glad I did! My 15 year old cat, Callie, has been having trouble cleaning her own fur as she gets older and gets upset when I get out a brush. I have never had a cat with such terrible matting. Samantha examined her and knew exactly what to do! In fact, she is so kind and connected to animals, she asked if we could break it into 2 sessions at no extra charge so that it wouldn't be so overwhelming for Callie, especially since she has arthritis. Samantha must have magic powers because she managed to undo the matting without shaving off Callie's fur. Callie adored her and is now strutting around like a young kitten since she feels beautiful again. I really can't compliment Samantha enough-- she is truly amazing and I'd so glad I found her! read more

Should've wrote this sooner, but back in January we had an amazing experience at Catington with Samantha. We had just adopted our first long-haired cat and he was a bit dirty and greasy. I found it hard to find a good cat groomer online and stumbled upon the cutest name, Catington. I called and talked directly to Samantha, and she took her time and talked with me and calmed all my fears about grooming since this was our first time taking a cat to be groomed. The experience was great. Since our cat was already a senior when we adopted him, we were a bit nervous, but Samantha was amazing and made us feel at ease. and since this is a private grooming session, it was fast and our cat looked great! We plan on bringing him here again soon! read more

I've had Samantha as my cat's regular groomer for a few years now, and although I am always pleased with the results, I will not be continuing with her. After the last appointment, she said my cat was underweight and recommended I give him gabapentin for the next appointment since the "stress is too much on him and can induce a heart attack." I took the unsolicited advice and took him to the vet, but was told the exact opposite by the vet, saying that my cat is very healthy and is lighter in weight because he is very active and on the smaller side. Additionally, the vet said that giving gabapentin to a cat who's never had it before can cause more long term side effects and that I should only use it if I am traveling a far distance with him, not for a 2 hour grooming session. I've learned to take recommendations from non-medical professionals with a grain of salt. With all that being said, I will not be a returning customer. There has been issues scheduling with Samantha before as well, which stemmed from a tech issue on her end. This one instance turned into an uncomfortable and frustrating text exchange. Customer service is not her strong suit, and she has a lot of attitude, but she is very skilled at her work. I do hope to find someone just as good or better, because there indeed are other cat groomers out there despite Samantha saying multiple times to me that she is one of the only two in the LA area. read more

Samantha has been my cat groomer for a few years, and I wouldn't go to anyone else! Yesterday, I visited Catington, her new place on Woodman near Moorpark, and I brought in my boys, Midnight & Benji. As always, Samantha did an amazing job, and they look great, smell wonderful, and their nails aren't causing me to wince when they do that kneading thing while they purr away! I highly recommend Samantha for any grooming needs - she's gentle with the cats, friendly, is always professional, and her recommendations are always spot on. read more

Listen if you own a cat or cats this is the best groomer I have found! I have been traumatized by a few so-called cat groomers and so has my cat. There has been multiple times where I've picked up my cat and it looks like a child had took scissors and went to town on my cat. Now, having said that to finding Sam by pure luck. It has been a game changer. I can now rest assured, bringing my baby here knowing not only my cat is going to have a great experience, but he's also going to look handsome. And it shows on his face! Thank you Sam! Your passion for our babies shows through your work. read more

Cannot recommend Samantha enough! My cat is a rescue and lived on the streets for most of his life, so he had a build-up of wax and gunk in his ears and in between his toes. He also has skin cancer, which has resulted in an open wound on his nose, and is no longer able to groom himself. I've tried bathing him and cleaning him myself, but there's only so much I can do. I decided to look into a groomer and came across Samantha at Catington. She was so friendly and accommodating - asking me questions about Sebastian's health and comfort levels - and came up with a cleaning treatment that would be the most efficient and comfortable for him. Picking him up, his fur was so soft and fluffy and his paws were the cleanest I have ever seen. She takes great care in what she does, only seeing one cat at a time so they can have privacy, attention, and rest. This is the perfect place to take your fur baby for some TLC. read more

Cat lovers may find it more difficult getting good grooming rather than dog lovers. I had my mobile groomer before, but started experiencing some issues with scheduling appointments. I looked and called around and found only a few places near me. Some were too overpriced, some don't even respond. I called Catington and left a voicemail. Samantha replied to me almost right away on a Saturday. We had a good consultation about services we should do for my cat. So we did it today! I dropped of my baby there and went back to work. Yet, Samantha was sending me updates over the text all the times throughout the session. She also pointed out some issues I should look for regarding my cat's well being, which I agree with as I have been monitoring those conditions as well. So, she is not just your typical groomer with the grooming supplies and the credit card machine. She knows staff about cats. Overall, switching from my mobile groomer to Samantha? Yes! Sincerely, Artem & Belo, the Cat Update: Next morning Samantha contacted me regarding some additional information we have discussed. She also stated my cat's name in her reply (I did not mention it in my original review), which shows how she cares about customers. It's a minor detail, but adds a lot of value. As a person working in an entertainment industry where retaining a repeating customer and public relations are the main goals, I totally understand this level of care. So yes, forget about my mobile groomer, our next session is definitely with Samantha. read more

I have been a client of Catington for the past five years . The quality and care that has been given to my cat, really is 10 stars!! Samantha is so passionate and dedicated to her work and it shows in my cat . She treats my cat as if it were her own , no short cuts at all , just 100% great work . Although a bit of a skeptic when it comes to cat grooming, I took the recommendation and booked an appointment. The establishment feels top notch, and Samantha is quite the cat whisperer. These reviews must be fake. What an unbelievably horrible experience. They don't even know how to do a lion cut. They we're running late for our appointment and texted me telling me that. Then got there early and when I didn't answer until the time they said they'd be there. They left and tried charging me $300 for a cancellation when I did not in fact cancel. What a disgusting person the lady is that runs this. She doesn't care at all about her customers. She charges 3x the price of EVERYONE ELSE. With the advertised luxury experience when in reality she can't even shave the cat unless she shaves it completely bald. Like what an idiotic business practice. read more
