Everything about shopping at PSP in orange is awesome. A friendly greeting when you walk in and always an offer to help. The staff doesn't rotate a lot like in other places. There's always a familiar face and even the customers are friendly. It's just got a great vibe and you can bring your pup to shop as a lot of people do. They're very knowledgeable about cat food and even cat behavior issues when it comes to feeding. Mostly I go there because of the unusual "old fashioned" good customer service. read more

Many of you may find this amusing. However, for those of you who are true dog lovers you will understand. I needed a very special gift since I have been invited and am attending a birthday party for a one year old cocker spaniel named Gigi. My friend believes her cocker spaniel is her family and deserving of a monumental party comparable to other family members birthday celebrations. I decided to create the equivalent of an Easter basket, full of squeaky toys, a wide variety of food treats, some interesting basic supplies, Gigi's favorite food, and an assortment of fun collars. Pet supplies was well organized and I do believe has everything from A-to-Z for your pet. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Horrible experience. Diagnosed the dog as overeating advised to walk more feed less. Turned out the do has a back injury. Walking is the opposite of what the dog needed. The poor dog was not given a pain killer until we were able to see our home vet. So sad and disappointed in this place. Waisted money!!!!! read more

Coing from a long time customer, several months ago the store started smelling horrific. I figured it was due to the newly installed bathing area. Unfortunately, when I mentioned it to an employee, she told me it's dead mice and they are trying to get it resolved. Id been in a few more times since, to get my regular dog food and had seen paper plates of mice poison with hundreds of mouse droppings on the plate... this was right behind the food i was going to get... i left in disgust. I went to another store, bought a new brand of food (over $100 per bag) and they dont like it. i went back to pet supplies plus very recently to get the food my dogs like (over $70 a bag). As it smelled worse than ever, i hesitated buying the bag. I got in conversation with the same employee and mk ths earlier and the employee stated the owner doesn't care to spend the money to fix the problem, wants to cut management hours to save money and bought another business out of the country and owes a significant amount of taxes in the US. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I GO HERE. read more

Of all the pet stores in the area, Pet Supplies Plus has the Largest and BEST variety of treats this side of CHEWY. The sale prices are great and they frequently have my two girls' favorites on sale. When I go to buy fish, they have wonderfully healthy finned friends to add to my tanks and great advice when I need it. The parking is always easy and the curbside pickup is so simple. I prefer shopping for dog food here versus a big name chain (even though they are a small chain). They also are one of the few local stores that carry the brand I buy for my pup. Employees are decent...not overly friendly, but available if you need help in the store and to carry large items to your car for you. I am also able to do a special order when the item I need isn't in stock....usually comes in within a week. read more

Prior to COVID-19 my family shopped there all the time, but unfortunately due to having to remain in self-quarantine, we were unable to shop there. There is nothing special or significant about Pet Supplies Plus. You will see that the pricing is comparable to Petco, and Petsmart. The selection is here as well, and the staff offers nothing more than any other price cutting pet store. It feels like a local store, however there are a lot of them. The say they are "locally family owned" however they are a franchise. When you walk into a Pet Supplies Plus your first thought, or mine was... dirty. It feels and looks cluttered, dirty, and not kept up. What keeps me going back is convenience of the location and price. Because if there was a PetSmart near by we would no longer go here. The staff is young, and knows nothing about pets, and you would think for a business playing the "local card" the staff would offer something more than an order taker behind the counter waiting for you to direct them. Nothing good, nothing bad... when PetSmart comes in they will lose our business. read more

They also have good sales, and many discount offers for those who have loyalty memberships (free to join). I much prefer Pet Supplies Plus over the larger national pet supply chain stores. read more

This pet store was a huge disappointment. Normally I like pet supply because of there great service, but when walking for the first time into the pet supply in Orange I was nothing but hassled and refused service. I have owned fish for years and know how to raise them. I came in for an Angle fish and was given wrong fact about there adult size with the workers saying that they grow over 15 inches long. Then after I was questioned about the size tank I had planed for the fish, and I told them 30 gallons. They then went on to say that I couldn't have the fish because the tank was to small. I know that a 30 gallon tank for a three inch fish at the time was enough. The angle fish was no more than 3 inches long and I would have over a year to upgrade my tank to a 55 gallon. I even said that my other 30 gallon was new and this would be the first fish to be put in the tank. On top of all of that I was hassled about my knowledge of these fish and then was denied the fish and even on the way out they where talking to other employees about how I was wrong, and was talking about me while I was walking out. I came back the next day and took pictures of my tanks and argued about my facts, and when the manager saw I was right I was able to get the fish. Then they said that they cared about there fish even though when I went back both days there where dead fish still at the bottom of the tank which means they had been dead long enough to sink. Then the dead fish where still there after I came back the next day. Not to mention that they where hypocrites because there where dead fish at the tank which showed they really didn't care. I went to another pet supply in Shelton the same night I was refused my fish and the employee that that was in Orange followed me to the other pet Supply. I was beyond surprised, then I bought some minnows for my sunfish, and the employee congratulated me sarcastically which was very rude this waited hours of my time I am beyond angry and I will not be going back to this pet store in Orange ever again, and I was disgusted with the service. read more

I have an English Bull Dog named ROSCO - we visited Pet Supplies Plus for the very first time. The staff there were awesome!! They were extremely helpful & a staff member stayed with me the whole time until I found everything I was looking for! ROSCO was extremely popular there & basically stole the show. He got tons of hugs & kisses and was even given a dog treat by a staff member at check out- which he loved! I found that the prices were a little less expensive than PETCO. I was extremely pleased with my purchases & the saving that I received. I saved about $10 buying the same exact items that PETCO had in their store. I highly recommend this store to anyone who love their pets! Your pet will truly feel loved while they are there! read more

My son brought a 18" light for my fish tank when i was out of town. When I returned I noticed it was the incorrect light and told him i would return it in the morning. The store insisted on the receipt, which i had accidentally left at home. The difference between the correct light and the light i was exchanging was $1.15 and they refused to do the transaction because i was receiving money back. I drove 15 miles back home to retrieve the receipt and when i returned was told they could not do the exchange because it was on my sons card. All this for a $14 replacement bulb. Never again will i shop here. I understand now why Amazon makes sense. read more

you can mix and match different seed food pellets and buy stuff alot cheeper i brought a tank heater for 3 dollers! it has that family owned feel with the guinea pigs and hamsters being bread in the store the cages for them are weird and alottle dirty and the rabbit's cages are too small but everything is sooo cheep! read more

I have been shopping at Pet Supplies Plus since I moved to Milford in 1999. The store was excellent for years, but over the past several months, I have made the decision that I will no longer shop here, instead I will now make my purchases from Petco. I shop there for my dogs and my cat, and every time I visit, Pet Supplies Plus always seems to be out of at least one of my foods. There is still a spot for it on the shelf, with a sticker, but the spot is empty. I need to make a special order for my food, but it makes no sense as Petco and PetSmart have multiple bags of the same food. The last time I shopped there I had the manager, Scott, as a cashier. He asked me for my email address, and I declined because I have too much spam that goes into my inbox, he asked me for my email again, this time offering a coupon if I gave it to him. This was aggravating. After he rang out everything, he was very pushy, and tried to make me buy multiple items I did not need, when I showed no interest in purchasing them for myself he continued to try to sell them by asking for a donation. I liked going there because they had the foods that I needed and the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable on the different pet supplies they sold. Now, on top of not having my food in stock, they are ruining the customer service by pressuring me to buy things that I do not need nor want. read more
