Great job with our Monty. They kept uninformed all along the way by text. We booked a cut for the same day!

I love Pawtero! I take my little pup here every 3-4 months. I will say it's a little expensive in my opinion. My favorite groomer is Angel. He is in my opinion better than the others - he's attentive to detail, kind, and great for anxious dog mamas like myself read more

New to town and have been looking for a decent groomer for my girl for awhile now. This place was awesome! Fast, friendly, the whole thing! My puppy had her first grooming here today and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. She was nervous about the clippers so they took their time and let her get used to it. They did an excellent job and she smells and looks amazing. We'll be back. Such nice people. read more

The guys and gals at Pawtero are so amazingly skilled and compassionate. We took our two dogs and our cat there and they were all satisfied clients. Will keep coming back! read more

This is my third visit here and my third time disappointed. When I bring my pup in, I've asked the groomers to shave his legs when they create the "lion cut" yet they always fail to do so. I tried giving them many chances because I strongly believe in supporting local businesses. However, after you ignore the customers wishes so many times and customer service is subpar, I will be taking my pet somewhere else. read more

Pawtero - After Pawtero Grooming - Pet Groomers Near Me - New Haven, Connecticut

Today, I brought my two dogs here for a grooming. They badly hurt one of them, cutting two nails way too much. The dog has even bled. They didn't mention anything at all when we picked them up. My dog cannot walk properly now and keeps licking his paw (don't allow me to touch there). This is super painful!! How come this could happen in a place like this where they are supposed to care about your dogs... If you love your dog, DON'T BRING HIM/HER HERE! Have been trying to call them for hours and they won't reply the phone calls...NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. read more

Dropped my dog off at 10:OOam today. Its now 11:50am and I still don't have my dog. I called to check on my dog and AUSTIN with the bad attitude said it would be another 45 minutes because a new TRAINEE was working on my dog (without my permission or knowledge). I never authorized this and would NEVER let a new trainee work on my dog. I feel like this was a sneaky move and the OWNER needs to tell the staff to treat people with respect. When I explained to AUSTIN how I felt he hung up the phone in my face. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! Absolutely TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! read more

The new groomer Hayley is AMAZING!!! From the start, she booked all of her appointments for an extra half hour to get to know her new clients. And then compassion and grooming excellence come in. My dog was perfectly groomed by a woman who cared about her the second they met. Also important, they only do one on one sessions. Your dog will never be in a crate waiting their turn. Very important to me. :) read more

I don't even know where to start. Easy appointment setup online, very friendly staff, so kind and gentle with my little lab/huskie girl (who is a rescue and is VERY nervous around new people), they were quick and efficient, and Jessie looked (and smelled) like a star! She was so happy when I picked her up (probably from all the treats they gave her) and I was a very happy mama. Jessie will definitely be back and I will definitely be recommending this place to all my pet owner Friends! Thank you pawtero for making today a very enjoyable experience for me and my girl!! read more

Been there twice but probably won't go again. My dog's facial hair is pretty much the same length as when she walked in there. There are patches of short hair on her torso, they completely missed a patch on her tummy, and the top of her head is so uneven. Waste of money read more

Benny's (Maltese) 2nd visit was not at all what I expected since I had a favorable visit my first time. His first grooming was done by the owners family. This time I was greeted by a blonde woman with very short hair. I tried to show her pictures of Benny to let her know what I was wanting for Benny. She wasn't interested in looking and said I know what you want. She was absolutely wrong. She wasn't a warm representative for your store either. Seemed annoyed I was speaking. Coldly rushed me out. She didn't give him much of a hair cut. Only did a sanitary clip and a little off the back. Didn't trim the legs, tail, lower part of the body. And most importantly and oddly she didn't clean/trim the pads on the feet. He has long hair between his pads. The same mat on Benny's tail that he came in with is the same he left with. I saw the owner there in the back sitting down. I wonder why he doesn't over see the work? I was not happy with the experience at all. Too bad because your shop is a few blocks away. read more

I took my coco to Pawtero and they did such an AH-MAZING job! It is a crate free and welcoming environment. I personally met the owner who was working the register! This was by far the BEST experience my coco has had! Thank you PAWTERO you have yourself a loyal customer! read more

A disappointing experience. I brought my mini schnauzer in to Pawtero for the first time and requested a traditional schnauzer cut (short on the back, top of head, and ears; long on the legs, skirt, beard and eyebrows), and also asked to have her anal glands expressed. They nodded to the schnauzer cut request, but flat refused to express the glands because she thought that was "too disgusting" for them to have to do. What?? I was quite taken aback by this - expressing glands is such a standard request for groomers.... I couldn't believe they were not only refusing, but did so in such an unprofessional *ew gross* kind of way. Against my better judgement, I decided to let her go ahead with the groom regardless of her refusal to do the full job. When I picked up my dog, I saw that the cut was completely botched. The groomer left tufts of long hair atop my dog's head, didn't groom the ears or tail at all, and worst of all.... shaved those big signature schnauzer eyebrows completely off. I had never had such a terrible groom for this or any other dog I've owned. I decided to call in and ask to talk with the owner/manager. I felt compelled to alert him/her that a groomer they employ is doing such a poor job with such an unprofessional attitude. Additionally, I was under the impression that there were multiple groomers at the shop, and I was willing to give Pawtero another shot if the owner could recommend another of their groomers that could do a good job on a schnauzer. I left word with the shop and tried to contact and speak with the owner a couple of times, but was never properly followed up with despite leaving a detailed voicemail about my experience and requesting a return call to recommend another of their groomers. After a week of waiting for a reply, I still heard nothing. It seems management doesn't take client feedback very seriously, and so I won't be returning. In fairness there may be some great groomers on staff, but I certainly got a bad one.... and clearly management will let a bad job slide. If you have a dog requiring a specific cut, or if you wish to have your dog's anal glands expressed, I'd highly advise going elsewhere. read more

Although the groomer who was with my puppy was very friendly, my experience was less than ideal. I usually use another groomer and I will be keeping it that way from now on. I asked for a puppy cut and I got one- uneven albeit. The groomer also shaved my dogs behind, despite the fact that he had no knots there at all. She never asked me about it, and I hate how it looks. Additionally, the haircut was rushed. He has a few little knots under his arm. When I picked him up they were still there. I also feel as though they rushed. My groomer usually takes an hour and she covers everything! This place charges a little less than them and took 30 minutes, resulting in a poor job. The spray on perfume doesn't hide the fact that it was not a good haircut at all. read more

They do such a great job & it's so nice to bring your pet somewhere where your pup doesn't have to stay all day. This place is amazing! I love taking my two cats here. They always do a fantastic job, they are so sweet with my cats and give a report of how they did, and they always take them back quickly and finish quickly. I feel like they really care. I've noticed the groomer always says goodbye to my cats by name and sees them off as I'm leaving, which is so sweet :) a nice personal touch. They have been flexible and accommodating if I have dropped my cats off a bit early or haven taken more time than anticipated getting back to pick them up. The staff are always friendly and pleasant. I love the option of booking appointments online beforehand- it's so easy and convenient. The place itself is so cute and in a nice and convenient location. I love having an excuse to grab a coffee or sit down at a cafe or take a stroll in a nice part of downtown new haven while I wait. Really love this place and won't go anywhere else read more

A very friendly and flexible establishment. Will take last minute appointments for nail clipping. The groomers did a wonderful job grooming our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. had a great experience with 1year old labradoodle nail trim.

Took our 15week old puppy here for a grooming session under their socially distanced policies. He seemed very anxious and not himself afterwords. We came home and found two bloody nails in addition to another nail that was split. Clearly cannot trust these guys with our pup and regret that we ever took him here. Obviously puppies require patience and special care. If they are unable to provide that, we should have been told from the forefront. Super upset that our puppy had to go through this experience. read more

I used the online scheduler to book an appointment only to be contacted via text that it was scheduled at an inconvenient time for Haley. Then when Haley found a convenient time for herself on a Saturday morning, I was met with even more unprofessionalism. Haley (some groomer with green colored hair) in formed me that it was against their "ethics" to use clippers in my Australian Shepard. I found it completely rude for someone to tell me how to treat my dog and with much confusion as to receiving this kind of tone and service from a groomer we canceled the appointment and left. I would not recommend this place solely due to my conversation with Haley. read more

Hayley is a wonderful groomer! I was nervous for my Ellie's first grooming experience, as she's only 16 weeks old. Hayley made me comfortable and was sure to take care with her in introducing her to every item (brush, comb, sound of water, sound of blow drier) before using them on her. She was extremely thorough --Ellie came out of the appointment happy, clean, fluffy and smelling good. The pricing is also reasonable. I will definitely be back. read more

They were really friendly and reassuring. It was also a small establishment without a wall of kennels filled with crying animals; I only saw one animal in there at a time.
