I am not exactly sure what happened, but this store has gone down hill since their last manager left. All the good employees left too. They are never open when I go there. No one to help with questions. Don't get me started about online orders!!! I will be looking for another Pet Store and it is too bad because I liked this store and the people that use to work there. Tidy and a bit crowded, this well stocked store has all the pet foods. Cats, dots, more than that. Cat litter, dog leashes and yes, there are even some cats available for immediate adoption. I stopped by to visit with a very friendly black cat who was caged and in a center aisle. I would have loved to take him or her home today but I already have three cats at home. Pet Supermarket is a solid place to get all your pet supplies. Both locations are in convenient spots where you can knock out your pet and human shopping back to back. Prices are maybe a tad high? But comparable to other pet stores and they give you reward points for spending a certain amount each time you go in as long as you have your number registered with them. Huge selection of toys, food, and treats and have RARELY been out of stock on things I've needed. Service has been friendly when I've gone in there so no complaints. Only minor grievance is maybe the price but they have everything under one roof so hard to do better. read more

With small isles making it hard to walk around with our dog, to unfriendly staff that definitely wanted to be anywhere else; the Pet Supermarket wasn't anything to write home about. If I had to say something good about my trip to Pet Supermarket would have the prices were reasonable. We found a collar for our dog for $10, unlike the $15 we were seeing at other places. We didn't look too much into the dog food because our dog is quite a kibble snob and they didn't have his preferred brand (the Sam's club brand, nobody tell him it isn't the highest quality kibble). read more

She spent a decent amount of time with me answering the many questions I had as a new Cory owner, and went above and beyond to ensure the overall safety and health of my fishies. Placed a 107.37 dog food order online via paypal. They could not locate my order and told me I had to come into the store for refund. I arrive at the store, they had the dog food I needed but they had cancelled the order. However, since they erroneously indicated to paypal that the order was filled the 107.37 charged to my bank account. They told me it would take 7-10 days for my refund to come back to my account. They would not give me a store credit or do anything to expedite the refund processing time. I have never had an issue with my online order from PETSMART I just tried Petsuper market because they carried the Diamond Naturals brand I wanted to try, Petsmart did not. I was told they were discontinuing Diamond Naturals; if so, they should have removed it from their website. read more

I purchased a rabbit from here. Luckily, I did my own advice on the special diet and care that baby rabbits need. The employees advised me to feed her timothy hay, which is unsuitable for baby rabbits. I had her for 16 days. She died unexpectedly after we paid $1.1k in vet bills. The vet told me that she had a parasite, most likely contracted from where I got her. I gave Pet Supermarket a call and received no help. It was admitted to me that the other two rabbits that we were in their care were sick too, while they were still being sold. It is not the fault of the employees, while they should be educated, but the place where Pet Supermarket receives its rabbits is horrid. I went by the store a little over a month ago and they had a huge tank of gold fish. Dozens of theses fish were sucked into the filter and just stuck there rotting. Some of them stuck there still ALIVE. It was so sad to see and when we informed the manager that this was cruel and the animals were being tortured, she basically said she didn't know how to fix it but would try. Well, a month later I came back in and wouldn't you know it, dozens of dead, rotting, and half alive fish were still being sucked into the filter. The manager still said she didn't know how to fix it. The corporate office did absolutely nothing to help. My experience has always been great at PET Supermarket. They carry brands of food that I haven't been able to get elsewhere for my guinea pig and hamster. Occasionally, they feature pets for adoption from animal care & control. That's how we ended up adopting the sweetest cat in the world! Do not shop at this store! I have been coming to pet supermarket for many months and I've come to conclusion that this is the LAST place you would ever want to go. I should start off by saying the managers clearly make the sales associates very uncomfortable I couldn't even talk to one without a manager budding in and it felt very disrespectful. I've come into this store while they are unpacking their shipment of supplies and it seemed like 1 or 2 people would be unpacking while the rest (the managers) were up front talking and not doing anything. the fish Tanks look absolutely horrendous ESPECIALLY the bettas practically living in their own filth. The Manager, Missy, and her staff make every visit to this store a world-class experience. I have a dachshund with back trouble. Missy has taken the time to read labels on different brands of dog food with me to share what may be most beneficial for him, and her team is always willing to recommend items based on you or your pets needs. Her team member Abby always goes above and beyond, as well. The staff seems to get along really well together, and as a corporate trainer and project manager, this is a very impressive characteristic to me. I don't usually write reviews on businesses, but my experience at this particular Pet Supermarket was FABULOUS!!!!! I had just come from Petsmart. Planned to buy some fish there. But their fish were in terrible condition, and the employees obviously had no clue what they were doing. It took forever to get someone to help me. And when someone finally did come, they knew absolutely nothing, and resorted to using their pamphlet/brochure things while I was talking to them??? Needless to say, I left in a huff. I came in to the Pet Supermarket today, and was pleasantly greeted by the two ladies at the register. Already, I could tell that this trip was going to be better than my last. I didn't catch the one girl's name, though she was very nice. The lady who actually helped me with fish was De'ja. She helped me pick out fish for my new 20 gallon tank. She went through all of the temperaments, special requirements, and possible combinations of each type of fish I was interested in. I was shocked!! These employees look so young, but they know their stuff! I learned so much more here than I could have ever learned from those scant pamphlets over at Petsmart!! De'ja didn't have to read anything! She just knew it! That's how it should be when you're working with animals! As she was catching my fish, she smiled, was GENUINE, and inquired about my other pets. She wasn't pushy at all, and she didn't try to sell me on more fish than I needed - more importantly, she didn't try to sell me any fish that wouldn't work together. The lady who was working alongside her helped to check me out. She smiled and showed great customer service skills too! Once, a manager came over to the coffee shop next door, saw my wife and our dogs, went and got treats, and brought them back to them (it worked, we went and bought stuff). I have been shopping at this pet store since they opened and was excited to see one closer to my house than petco at the arboretum. I returned from a weekend visit with my parents to celebrate Father's Day and was quite exhausted, however not too tired for a quick run to Pet Supermarket to purchase some meal worms for our newly hatched blue birds. When I got home and opened the container they were the big super worms and I knew the little birds could not eat them. I also knew I had asked for meal worms. So I returned to the store and honestly expected to be compensated somehow for their mistake and my having to return to the store as the clerks who initially helped me said "Oh, I'm sorry someone must have stocked these incorrectly. Because he had no problem admitting he had made a mistake. However, the manager, Karla, (who is knew to this store) stated that she could not give me one of the two meal worm containers for free, as I suggested ($2.99 each) as it would "mess up their inventory." REALLY?? I informed Karla that I would not be shopping at her store any longer and when she said "thanks" I said "thanks for nothing." She just lost a customer that has 3 pets plus feeds outdoor birds all for $2.99!!! Sounds like Pet Supermarket has hired a real winner!! I will be sharing this experience with friends and family.
