They have high-quality stuff I can't find at the major chains. Innova, Tiki Cat, Weyruva, and other high-end cat food, for instance. The service is knowledgable. I've gotten good consulting there both on cat food and supplements. People are friendly. There's hardly ever a crowd. Alex, the owner is great. The food/treat selection is great, and Alex will special order whatever you need! But the guy who works there is the absolute worst. He is always watching loud anime or some kind of cartoon on his phone and doesn't pause it when you ask for help or when you are checking out. Since coming under new ownership in late 2018, this store become my favorite pet store. They are bringing in new cat foods that my finicky feline loves, and the owner has samples available for new products, and lots of good ideas. I've found the first dry food that my cat has liked in years. There are canned food varieties of very high quality in flavors he is going for also. Prices are competitive, and there are sales! At the moment, there is a discount on Sunday, so keep an eye on the bulletin board by the cash register if you are budget-conscious! read more

What a cute little store! I found this on accident when we attempted to go to the vacuum store next door. They have quality items for very reasonable prices, and they genuinely seem to care about animals. The woman who helped us was very friendly and personable, and I will definitely make this shop a priority when I'm in the market for quality pet products. I don't currently have a dog as a companion, but I will make sure to shop here when I do. They have a good selection despite the coziness of the store. It feels like a mom and pop shop for pets, and no one is pressuring you to buy anything like at more commercial shops. Definitely give this place a try if you are sick of the mass pet store scene. On my recent visit, during these dark times, I entered a sparklingly clean shop, the large counter glistening with freshness, having been just wiped down, and Alex, in mask, keeping a safe distance. Only one customer at a time allowed in, which went very quickly. Alex also has a special place outside the door, where customers can pick up their orders after calling in. It is all so perfectly accommodating. The real beauty about this paradise of a pet store is Alex's recommendations for the best food, beds, leashes, toys, yummy treats, all kinds of products, including the much sought-after CBD hemp oil. Alex has known all my dogs' particular needs and has recommended certain foods accordingly and they've been a huge hit, even for the very fastidious and elderly. They are now enjoying the very tasty vegan kibble called Wild Earth with toppings of Stella & Chewy's patties and Stella's various stews. You can find premium foods here that you can't find in most places. But the biggest reason to shop here, along with excellent prices, is the care and attention that Alex bestows on every lucky customer and, if they come along for the ride, all the dogs. I went in to get a slow feed bowl for my cat and the person working said they'd never seen one before and that I *might* be able to use one of the ones intended for dogs that they had in stock when I asked for help (never mind that I have seen them online and just wanted to shop local). Okay. I will add that this exchange transpired after I've already entered the store (empty except for salesperson), looked for the item and realized they most likely don't have it, and am on my way out. As I am on my way out I see the same salesperson standing behind the counter staring vacantly at me. No hello, no how can I help, no nothing. I only recently started coming here on a recommendation from another pet lover. This is my new and only place for anything I need for my dogs. Prices: lower than where I used to go. Service: knowledgable, honest, friendly. Selection: Alex, the owner, is dedicated to providing only the best quality food and treats. If you don't see what you want, ask. I previously drove to Daly City to get my dog food. When I first went in, I didn't see what I wanted. I asked about it. Alex had it for me within 3 days. I have only experienced Alex and her way of doing business, and she's amazing. I wish that the old reviews about the old owner could be taken down, because it's not fair for Alex to be judged by how the previous owner ran the place. If I could give no stars I would! I am new to yelp and new to California. I wanted to get some treats for my dog so I went to Pet Pro. I won't shop at Petco or Petsmart, and I like to support local business, but jeez give me a reason! The store was cramped, dark and tiny. There was little selection, the shelves were a mess, nothing was organized, the floor was dirty. The worst was the young woman behind the counter was on the phone, didn't acknowledge that I'd come in (I was the ONLY person in the place), didn't get off the phone while I browsed around and didn't offer any help to find the treats I was looking for. They didn't have what I was looking for anyways. As I was walking out I heard the girl on the phone tell the person she was talking to "hold on a sec" then "nevermind she left". There are lots of other pet stores, but I very much enjoy the atmosphere largely because of her expertise, and have very much enjoyed seeing her two cute dogs there. I was surprised and disappointed to see only one dog in the shop last time I visited and was sad to learn it was due to the review by Leslie M. I have seen only compassion from Katcha and I think the two dogs are a big assest to the store...and believe most people enjoy them, and that it is better for the two of the dogs to be together during the day than alone/or separated. And it won't bother Leslie as she has already said she wil be somewhere else! My experience with Katcha is that she is very interested in her dogs and gives great customer service--I even mistook her for the owner/manager of the store.
