Destiny Kidder Buel is an extraordinarily gifted And effective dog trainer. Our dog is a Boxer, Labrador mix with a dash of Pit bull and weighs 80 pounds. I am under 5 feet tall and was really struggling to keep her with me and a safe distance from other dogs. I hired Destiny and probably saved my dog's life. My home was my dog's third try. I learned to keep the leash short, reward all good behavior , use non word cues and tell people my dog is not friendly. As I gained confidence, I was able to hike with my daughter and her golden retriever. I'm pretty sure I was the one trained but it takes an empathetic trainer to see the needs of both human and dog and find middle ground. Destiny is empathetic and professional. I took my two dogs in for 2 days of boarding. I returned to pick them up on the second afternoon. After parking in the lot I started to walk to the office. Imagine my surprise that one of my dogs had apparently escaped and was running back up the driveway to me from the street side of the property. Staff and management were clueless how that happened. It had to be negligence. The escapee is a very shy rescue and I count my blessings that I returned at the right moment. This was an inexcusable lapse. I took my two 17 pound border terriers to Postmore for a bath today August 29, 2022). I was quoted a flat $45/per for dog under 25 pounds for a shampoo and nail clip by Postmore staff, the same amount that is quoted on their website. The women in the from office are very nice and easy to deal with; however, when I picked up my dogs they said it would be an additional $5 per dog because the groomer says he had to use additional shampoo! When I complained that when you quote a price, you honor it, they said the groomer is an independent contractor and does not work "for" Postmore. I advised that I call Postmore to schedule, the Postmore website quotes the same $45/dog and my payment was to Postmore; therefore, employee or independent contractor, it is bad business practice and reflects on Postmore. I also confronted the groomer himself and he just said that they were dirty and he needed to use additional shampoo, hence the $5 additional. It is the principle... you honor your quote and Postmore and their independent contractor didn't. I will not be going back for grooming and hope anyone reading this will try another shop with a more professional approach to customer relations that will honor their quoted prices. As an aside, if they had told me up-front that there could be an up-charge if additional shampoo was necessary, I would have been fine with that. It is the unprofessional attitude and poor customer relations that infuriates me! read more

We had brought our dog here for daycare in the past but this was our first boarding experience and it was terrible. We brought our dog here for 9 days of boarding while we were out of town. We got there to pick him up when we were back and immediately the girl at the desk told us they wouldn't be able to take our dog for boarding in the future. She said our dog was afraid of the kennel tech and could cower(not try to bite, just scared) when he would go near him to put him in at night. I asked how long this was going on for and she said basically the whole time. Why didn't they call us and tell us he was scared?! She stated our dog was totally fine with her, everyone else and other dogs which made me really concerned about why our dog would cower for the tech?! We had called halfway through our trip to check in on how it was going and the girl who answered the phone was short and rude. Just said our dog was doing great and hung up. No mention of the cowering when going into the kennel. Had that been the case, we would have told them he is highly food motivated and just to throw a kibble in and he would run in after it. This furthered my concern for how our dog was put into the kennel and why he was afraid of the tech and cowering. When we came to pick him up, we got there at about 11:20am (we forgot about the 11am pickup time) and they charged us an additional $25 for that 20 minutes. Okay, annoying but whatever... I guess we will pay. They brought him out and he was covered in shit! All over his feet and back. My partner and I looked at each other and instantly said we will never be coming back here again and took him straight to get a bath. I don't recommend. Just so, so many red flags. read more

I have never rated a service before but wanted to warn others. Postmore years ago, was excellent. I used them a year ago over our traditional July 4th family vacation where dogs were not allowed. I met the new young owner who was very affable and based on years ago good experiences, I brought my senior Standard Poodle for boarding. When I picked her up, they did not have her bed and toys and said they were in the dryer- when asked why, they said she soiled it. She never had any issues at home but when I found out the last time of the day they let the dogs out for final potty of the day, it was 3:30 in the afternoon! I was heartsick knowing she soiled her bed for a week because she wasn't taken out at night before bed. I had her bathed before I picked her up so I never would have known if her bed was ready. I asked them to mail it and they never did. NEVER use this unethical and terrible pet care business if you love your pet. read more

I am so incredibly angry and dissappointed in the grooming they did and cannot believe the exuberate charges for the grooming. I have NEVER paid $330. for grooming for 2 dogs. This place is a rip-off. They wouldn't give us our dogs back until we paid. The origial discussion with the office lady was $80. - 100. each. Which is fine. But $330.00!! No way! I called and called to discuss this but, they were relentless in not talking with me. When I was finally able to talk with the groomer, when I left a message I would dispute this, he finally called and said the excess charges were for Shampoo!! Unbelievable!!! This is a review of their grooming. We just took our dog. We have taken her there for many years and the groomer, Henry, was great. Their new groomer is terrible. either from inexperience or ineptness, it is the worst grooming ever. They only cut half of her hair, saying she did not like it. We have never had a problem with our dog after many years of groomers. so we paid $80 for half a haircut. it looks horrible, with the body too short and no hair trimmed from the head. The back legs were cut short and the from legs have hair left on them. read more

I was a client of Postmore for years before the ownership change, and my two little 7-lb dogs just spent 10 days with them this month. They were wonderful to our girls and Elizabeth is a gem! They came home calm, clean, and happy after more than a week of doggy camp. The staff even trimmed the long hair of my Yorkie mix who was overdue for a grooming appointment. They clearly spend time with the dogs in their care in addition to giving them plenty of "pack time." They are better behaved now than they were the day we dropped them off! My dog came home from a kennel stay with bare spots due to fleas. The attendant blamed it on the age of the dog and suggested vitamin E, as a solution to the problem. We love Postmore for their doggie daycare!! We take our very active Vizsla there 5 days a week, and she gets so excited at drop off, it's hard to contain her. She has plenty of room to run and play and comes home happy and tired. When she was a smaller puppy, they kept her with the small dogs and allowed her to nap in the office until she was ready to move into the big dog yard. Often Trish would give me details about her day or her favorite playmates at the kennel. Love Trish, Margarito and Carlos that work there. Well kept grounds and neat play yard, reasonable rates, nice staff. Trish also offers dog training while your dog is at daycare, it's affordable and convenient, and it's been very effective with our dog! I've noted that all of the negative reviews on Yelp do not have a photo attached to the name/reviewer. I find this interesting and odd, and in stark contrast to the many 5 star reviews. I suffer from separation anxiety when I leave my dog. She's not a dog to me, she's a dat, a cross of a dog and a cat that follows me around like I'm the holy grail and she's Indiana Jones. Well, not really, it's just because I'm warm and smell good, oh yeah, and I feed her. When I used to go away, which is often for both work and play, I would feel the need to leave these huge long lists about what Fillit can and cannot have. Let's just say that I don't have to do that anymore. Postmore's staff is incredible, and Fillit LOVES them. She jumps out of my arms and into their, excited at the possibility that they'll start to play immediately as she begins to nestle into her bed in the front office, where many of the smaller dogs hang out with the front end staff. It's like a "lavender scented day spa" for pups. She always comes home happy, healthy, well fed, and smelling fantastic. Her nails are trimmed and she doesn't shed that much as they brush her and give her little treats. She's princess Fillit of Mignon there (not like she isn't at home, trust me on that one) and she never shakes or whines when we drive up and I bring her in. Although she's always excited when I pick her up and take her home, it's obvious that she loves Postmore. Not too expensive either, it's the best option I've found in Marin County to board and groom my little wonder dog. She's my pride and joy, and worth every penny. Plus, you can't buy peace of mind, but boarding Fillit Mignon at Postmore is as close as it gets. Now I can breathe while I travel. read more

I have to admit I am writing this comment out of outrage over the comment of "Marin-er". What a venomous and creepy individual SHE is. Being upset because there was an elderly man on the premises when she visited? This is just plane ugly on her part. I hope people are not lured into believing what this pretentious and nasty person has to say about Postmore or any other place. Further I have visited Postmore and was very impressed. My sister in law went away to Europe and has a show quality poodle she left here. She is one of the most picky and demanding persons when it comes to her pets, spending whatever amount of money on them to keep them healthy and happy. Postmore was specifically recommended to her by her groomer after my sister in law visited other kennels that she did not like and which were more than double the price per night of this one. I went with her to drop her precious poodle off and also made a surprise visit while she was away for 30 days to see if the poodle was doing well. The poodle was sooo happy and they were taking very good care of him. I thought all of the people here were extremely friendly and professional. They were all normal persons who actually work and do something with their lives, as opposed to write comments on Yelp attempting to glorify themselves and have people think they are "hip" AT THE EXPENSE OF INNOCENT PEOPLE. I have two Scottish terriers and I would be very glad to leave them here. It is like a little farm out in the country. Dogs and animals are not into "hip" things they just want to be safe, well fed and loved and Postmore provides this. UPDATE: After writing this I thought my Scotties needed some grooming. I telephoned Postmore and asked if they could be done today and they said YES! I took them there and it was very busy. Lots of cute dogs, lots of customers and lots of persons working there (including some of those described by Miss "Marin-er"). I can only say that this woman must have some serious psychological problems that cause her to think perfectly respectable and professional people are creeps. At no point whatsoever was anyone there acting strange nor could any reasonable person believe anyone there was creepy in any manner!!!! Oh yes, and on the subject of my Scotties they looked absolutely amazing when I went back to pick them up. The woman who groomed them could not have been nicer and more understanding. She came out to ask what type of cut I wanted and if there were any concerns. Now they look like little show dogs. I would like the owners of Postmore to know that as a result of the insults Marin-er made towards one of their employees he or she has now gained a very loyal customer. Every single time that my wife and I have gone on trips we always leave our Pomeranian at Postmore Kennels and we will only leave him at Postmore Kennels! The staff is super friendly and they keep the big dogs separate from the small dogs and they really make sure your doggie is safe!! We always get him groomed here except for one time last year which was a horrible mistake ( you can read my other review on that place) but they leave our Tito looking like a million bucks and he is always happy. This last time we got back from our vacation on Wednesday and they close at 5pm and we were stuck in traffic coming from Oakland Airport, my wife called Carlos and told him that we might be a few minutes late. Carlos said no problem and waited for us. We got there about 10 minutes after 5pm and we were so happy to see our dog and so appreciative of Carlos for going the extra mile and waiting for us a few extra minutes!! They do an excellent job grooming our Pomeranian and we will continue only taking him to Postmore Kennels! read more

This business charges a ridiculous amount to groom a dog. I have a large dog but asked for a simple one length cut and was charged $180 after being given an estimate of $140. I WOULD NOT have taken my dog here had they told me it would cost nearly $200 for a service that has previously cost me $100. The staff was unfriendly and my dogs haircut was fine but nothing exceptional, I'll have to clean up a few spots myself. Do not go here. Bed and Biscuits in San Rafael does a great job for a much more reasonable price. read more

The pup now loves this place. It really is perfect. He goes there often enough that they know his name, his likes and even can tell me if he seemed to have an off day. With the rain he has been going there more often than not because I don't want to walk him in this weather. He goes to postmore, plays with his puppy friends, gets wet and they even sometimes dry him off before I pick him up. And he made a special girlfurfriend there and one day when I picked up chase the owners had pictures of chase and the girlfurfriend laying together earlier in the day. How thougtful is that? We love this place. Take your dog there! Its easy, flexible, cheap and they care about your dog. read more

This is and has been my dog(s) favorite place. Carlos and the rest of the staff are great. Carlos must be part dog whisperer. My 1st dog "Rocky" loved going to Post more. He would jump out of the car to see Carlos and when we picked him up he would be grateful and jump back into the car. Rocky passed away at 14 yo. I've been using this kennel now for 8 years for 5 different dogs. All of them (3 small, 2 large) were always happy to be there. There's ample space for all the dogs to be out and running around, with small dogs separated from the larger ones. If you're smart you won't bring your dog here. I was recently dog sitting a dog for three weeks a week in he starts getting a horrible cough, when I go to the vet they tell me it's kennel cough. Now thanks to you guys being irresponsible and not looking out for coughing dogs when they're brought it all my 3 other dogs got kennel cough as well!! In so happy I found this place. I visited several kennels after moving here, and was very discouraged. I just dropped by unannounced and got a full tour by Carlos. A lot of other kennels said I needed an appt. They even suggested that I bring my boy in a few times before boarding him, so he could get used to the place. And to hoot at no charge. When dropping him off for an hour or two, he didn't want to leave. They let the dogs play freely, and aren't caged all day. Robbie the owner was super friendly as well. Love love love this place!!! I can not say enough good things about this place. 1. They love animals period. It shows in all they do. 2. The place was great before and they just updated and it is Beautiful!! 3.
