My dog was brought in for JUST an UNDER BELLY clean up as he is small and was picking up alot of grass etc.. Simple JUST belly trim. He is a full bred German Biewer Terrier with beautiful long black, white and brown hair on this torso, head, ears and tail. When I picked him up 20 mintures later after a text saying he was ready, he was still in the back as they were putting "a bow on him." I said "Don't put him in a cage" Thier response was they had none. They had numerous cages that I saw in the back room. Lie#1 When I arrived they made me pay before I saw him. Alarming. When he was brought out they had CHOPPED HIS TAIL, the long hair on his EARS, HIS HEAD AND TOP COAT IS UNEVEN AND THE CHARM OF THE BREED WITH HIS LONG SILKY HAIR IS GONE! I left as I was so upset and returned an hour later when I was more calm. They didn't apologize but said we had asked for a "Puppy Cut". LIE #2. My dog is 11 years old. WE NEVER ASKED FOR A PUPPY CUT nor had heard of it!! This was my first and last time to this place. Yes, I know it will grow but that's not the point. Lifesavers! Short version: One of my dogs got skunked this morning, I'd left my old groomer and needed someone desperately. They rose to the challenge superbly, and with real grace. Long version: I have two huskies. When my back got too bad to bathe them myself, I found a local groomer. They did a good job, but I had numerous small problems with them (miscommunications, extra charges, not giving the dogs water, etc.). The kicker was when the owner told me that unless I brought them in EVERY MONTH, she was going to up her charges dramatically. Huskies shouldn't be bathed more than a couple of times a year, it destroys the oils in their coats, and that would have meant over $200 a MONTH for grooming. I never went back. We're "urban mushers", I run my dogs at first light (five years with a dog sulky, the past year with a recumbent trike). On this morning's run, Kochyok spotted movement in the bushes and pounced before I could react...skunk! She had grabbed him, so she really got the full blast. Rinsed her eyes, let her roll around in the dirt for a bit, then headed home. I had time before any groomers opened, so got on line. Found Doggie Styles, and how often do you see anything on Yelp with 79 reviews, almost all FIVE STARS?!?! Reading the reviews made me want them even more, so I called and they let me bring her in. The lady took her in back, came out and said she had to apologize (!), Koch was so badly skunked, she couldn't touch her to estimate her coat, "but I'll be fair". Price wasn't on the top of my mind this time, but how nice of her to say that! Her next question was "Any medical conditions we should know about?" (nobody's ever asked me that!), followed by "I know you mentioned she'll want extra water " (wow, she remembered my casual remark!) and "It may take a while, we'll shoot for 1:30, but it may be as late as 2:30 (the other place, I had her in when they opened, and she never got back before 3:00! That's 4-5 hours, as opposed to previously never less than 7!). I'm in love! True to their word, they called at 1:20 to tell me Kochyok would be ready by the time I got there. She's never looked this good, not a hint of skunk remains, and for the cherry on top, one of the ladies started to tell me when I brush her, to be sure not to use a bladed brush, like the Furminator De-Shedding Tool, which just happens to be a bugaboo of mine, and I had asked the other lady earlier to be sure they didn't use them. Very happy to discover this great place. Our retriever/shepherd mix was able to be squeezed in on a Friday for her first visit - and she came out happy, gorgeous and with a shine to her coat and lack of undercoat that makes her look 10lbs lighter. unfortunately they don't offer the same instant weightless for the dogs' owners... Price was reasonable for the quality of service received. We'll definitely be back, and skip our drives into the city. Very happy. read more

And they got water in his ear when they shampooed him, which necessitated a costly visit to our veterinarian for antibiotics. I have been going to Doggie Styles for more than 10 years. I love the place so much that I even drove over the GGB from San Francisco. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly. The service is excellent and they handle all the dogs with loving care. One of my two Vizslas hates having her nails trimmed but I can quickly whisk her in and out of Doggie Styles with a couple of treats without a problem. They had me drop my golden retriever off at 11:30. Didn't call me for a pick up until 3:55 and said get her now we are closing at 4. I ran over to get her to find that they had kept my dog in a small dog crate on a 85 degree day the whole time without water, the room was even hotter. She peed in the kennel probably from being over heated and having never used a dog crate before. I will never bring my dog back to this place and I also can tell my dog hates it there as well. read more

GRACIOUS. My dogs have NEVER been so sleek and soft in their whole lives, like not even when they were fluffy little milky eyed pupplets. I admit it, I'm hooked. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! And the prices rocked, as did the service. I just don't think I'm going to be paying by check or credit card here...
