Underwhelmed with this grooming shop, although we wanted to like it, as the decor outside is so cute. We are still in search of a good groomer in Marin... I texted with the owner's daughter before we made an appt. I sent pics of her, pics of her with past haircuts that we like, gave specifics (watch for her little old lady growths, keep her hair super short all over her body, don't cut into the quicks of her nails, etc). I asked if all this info and pic would go to the groomer and she assured me it was all normal requests and that the info would indeed go to the groomer. Took our pup in, and when she was done, the cut was not what we had asked for or included pics of. This is so frustrating... why do these places ask for pics and say, " yeah yeah we can do that", and then throw our instructions to the wayside? It wasn't crooked at least, but it wasn't the cut we wanted and provided pics of. So, I had to walk around for another 20ish minutes so the groomer/ owner Carlos could cut our pup's hair closer to what we had requested. I also showed him the pic and he clearly was seeing it for the first time. Not cool at all. Also, from what I saw when I was in there, he wasn't that gentle with her, and he had like zero interaction with her. Doggos deserve all the gentleness and love. As we left, another dog was coming in and he was shaking SO badly. We wont be back. read more

I absolutely love Carlos and his team! They do a great job grooming both of my shih tzu's, i've been going to them for almost 6 years now and they've always done a good job with both pups. I also love the bandanas they put on my pups as a complement for their freshly groomed look! read more

We've brought our now 15 year old dog into Shampooch for the past 5 years. She has resisted other groomers in the past for one reason or another but she walks right into Shampooch without any protest! Previously coming from SF, we now make the trek from the East Bay to come here. The staff is friendly and scheduling is easy. Shampooch isn't just a grooming salon - it's more of a pet spa. Carlos and his doggy stylists totally deserve 5-stars. They always take such good care of my Cosmo. In just two hours, they give him a good wash, a nice trim, and clip his long nails. They even put a cute bandana around his neck. When I pick him up, Cosmo's tail is wagging and he's got a big smile on his cute, little face. He's looking clean and pretty, and he knows it. They really have this whole thing down to a science (even during Covid). I dropped the dog off at 9:30am. I tell them what I need done. They take down my contact info and credit card. Two hours later, they text me when they're done. I return to pick up my clean, happy dog. This time around, they even texted me a cute photo of my dog after his spa services. It's a really nice touch. After tax & tip, the whole experience is just $80 (which is a very reasonable price to pay in Marin County). Some of these dog groomers will cost you an arm and a leg, and they'll keep your dog all day. I've taken Cosmo to a bunch of different groomers over the years, and Shampooch is hands down (paws down) the best in the area. read more

Don't come here. I called to make an appointment and they told me the price after asking weight and breed of my dog. I showed up and they promptly told me actually it was going to be nearly double what they had told me on the phone. They were super rude and basically blamed me for having a dog with thick fur that had some knots. Have you ever seen an Australian shepherd before? You asked me the size and breed, I told you - Don't act surprised when you see him fit that exact description in person. He's big with thick fur I don't know what else to tell you.
