Our dog had breathing problems the last time we left him in the care of this groomer for a haircut, and the first time we left him there for pet sitting our dog was uncharacteristically despondent for a week, as if he had gone through some obvious trauma. I've been here twice for nail trims. The first time with the female groomer was great. Smooth soft nails that lasted weeks. The second was horrible with rough sharp nails. The guy (owner or manager?) did a half ass job and lied about the sanding/buffing. Didn't notice until I got home and my puppy scratched up my legs. As much as I'd like to support a small business in this location, I doubt I'll go back, unless #1) I know she is working and #2) I can't get into another place *actually I'd rather go buy trimmers at target and attempt myself rather than paying/tipping him again. read more

I have had relatively good luck with Paw Palace until the most recent grooming. I requested trim and she came back with a complete shave on he underside starting at the inside of her knees down to the ends of her feet. The top was very short but okay. Her hair was long and a trim should have been a trim not a shave. She has not stopped biting everywhere she can reach since the cut. 3 calls to ask what happened, no response, 1 on line msg, no response. never again! read more

Had an appointment booked and confirmed for days, drove all the way in and they were closed?! June 28th: booked an appointment for grooming on June 30th. Received a confirmation email. June 29th: Received a reminder about upcoming appointment. June 30th: Received another reminder about upcoming appointment. Made the long trip to the place and emailed a couple of times apologizing for being 20 minutes behind schedule. When I arrived the entire place was closed. I waited around and knocked on the door presuming someone had stepped out for a coffee. Eventually called the store and had this conversation: "Uh hello Paw Palace?" "Hi I'm outside." "Uh, do you have an appointment? There are no staff in today." "Yes, I made it and it was confirmed several days ago." "Okay sorry it's Pride today so we are closed. Uh I tried to block off the booking system so I need to book you for tomorrow or something." "What's the point in making an appointment? Why did I get a confirmation?" "Uh yeah could you like send those to me?" "What? Send you back the emails you sent me?" "Yeah like text them to me? Actually it's okay I can just look you up from your name and then rebook you for like tomorrow and discount it or something?" I hung up. Mistakes happen but you confirmed the appointment and it's been in your system for several days. The appropriate response to this situation is "I'll leave now and be with you in 30 minutes. I'm so sorry for the confusion." The guy sounded totally unapologetic. I doubt it crossed his mind that he should be the one to inconvenience himself in order to correct his mistake. Going back to mobile grooming services from now on. These folks are jokers. read more

What a wonderful experience! This was our first time to Paw Palace and as soon as we walked in, I knew it would be different. Our Clementine, like many dogs, can get a little anxious at the groomer and immediately look for the exit. Here, she was one of two dogs when we arrived, it was calm, and she walked right up to Piper. It was like my dog forgot I was there, she was so comfortable. Piper took her time with her, and made sure she was beautiful! At pickup, she and Frederico explained some of the challenges Clammy presents while being groomed, but in a way that was so kind and patient. We've had plenty of experiences when we're scolded for some of her anxiety. We're so grateful for their patience and kindness and we cannot wait to go back. read more

Worst grooming salon ever, avoid going there if you don't want your dog to be traumatized, I took my small dog for a bath + brushing + nails and I pick him up almost 2 hours later and I see they only gave him a bath bc they said that's what they thought I said when I specifically put in the paper brushing + nails too, and he looked so traumatized and scared when he saw me, also when I picked him up he smelled worse than he did before bc that place smells like poop and my dog smelled like dog poop after that bath, yesterday I took him to an experienced groomer and he said he wasn't able to give him a bath bc he was so scared and traumatized like someone did something wrong to him bc he was acting like a dog with ptsd and he was never like this before, he's been to multiple groomers and even got haircuts and he's got compliments for his behavior, but now he's completely messed up read more

Warning: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAT HERE. I already posted this on Googel reviews but wanted to share again on here as well. My experience here was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I brought my small Persian cat here to get a touch up after shaving her myself. All we needed was a bath and a very minimal haircut, just touching up the spots that we couldn't get to and shaping her face. She ended up being there for 3 hours which was very strange considering how small she is and how she was 90% shaved already. It shouldn't have taken that long and that was the first red flag. When we checked in with Federico about getting her because it had been a while, he said that it would be another 45 minutes to blow dry her. She was there for an unusually long amount of time which was very strange and worrisome. We finally got the call to pick her up and she looked terrified when she was brought out in her carrier. Federico showed us the haircut and said everything went well and we paid and left. Once we got to the car, we looked at her more closely and saw that she had this weird scab/cut on her ear. It looked like someone had nicked a piece off of her ear and possibly covered it up with some ointment to stop the bleeding. I called Federico after this and very calmly and politely asked him if anything happened to her ear while she was there. He said he didn't think so but said that he would check with his assistant to see if anything happened and he would call me right back. He never called back. We took her to the vet who confirmed that she was in fact injured here, either by getting nicked with clippers or from being bit or attacked by one of the other many dogs that were there at the same time she was. The vet said that a vein was cut and it was likely a lot of bleeding and that they probably put an ointment on the spot to stop the bleeding (hence the scab). Our cat is literally now missing a chunk out of her ear. I am extremely upset with my experience here. I am not only upset by her getting hurt but also the secrecy around it. The least that someone can do in this situation is own up to what they did and apologize and that unfortunately never happened. I will never go back here or recommend this place to anyone. In the attached photos, you can see the scab and the redness around it on her ear- this picture was taken in the first few days after it happened. There are also photos that show she now has a chunk missing out of her ear. read more

Late review, but this place is honestly a great dog grooming business. I've never owned a dog before but our newly-adopted dog was HELLA hairy and honestly just dirty looking, lol. Federico (I think that's how you spell the owner's name) cleaned her up, trimmed her nails, removed the fur obstructing her vision, etc. I think the full service took around an hour or so, and she came out looking great. Federico also gave advice on future grooming visits as well as letting me know he ran a doggy daycare (which my partner and I didn't know about). The shop is located within the shopping complex (near the Marin City library), and I do believe it recently opened. I'd go again, just from the results of the service as well as the customer service! read more

The two things that stand out for me the most about this place is the great customer service, as well as the quality of work they're doing. I've been there now multiple times on recommendation by a neighbor and each time the customer service was fantastic. The other thing is the wonderful job they did hand-stripping my Border terrier. I am updating this review to emphasize what a great business this is. They do a fantastic job on each and every dog, they always do the exact cut I want for my dogs. In fact, they really seem to have the dog whisperer touch. My dogs are never afraid and they always leave happy. Additionally, they treat the customer respectfully and are accommodating with appointments, you don't have to wait three weeks for an appointment, they will always fit you in. Communication is easy, they always answer the phone and texts. They even take walk-ins. But, most importantly, I will be forever grateful to Federico (the owner, who is consistently there every day, and whose brother also works there). He so very, very kindly took in my dog for his last grooming. When the heartbreaking, devastating time came, he was there for me, no questions asked. I wanted my dog to pass on with dignity, the dignity that he had lost in his last days. So I called over there, an absolute wreck, and when I told him what was happening, Federico said come in, right now or whenever you can, I would love to do this for you. He so very gently washed him and returned him to the beautiful, magnificent dog he had always been. And he didn't even charge me. What a kind, giving, and generous person. You don't run across a place this every day. A rare, rare gem of a place, independently-owned by someone who is dedicated to his business and runs it responsibly, responsively, and with heart.
