Training at the Pumpkin patch at Larkspur Landing

I'm sitting in the DFW airport after a weekend trip , the first one in a long time And my thoughts are that if not for Alpha Dog , their competence, compassion, thoroughness, professionalism and love of dogs I would not be going anywhere if I couldn't take Elvis. In fact I will only leave my Elvis at Alpha Dog for boarding. I'm not a wealthy person but the cost is irrelevant; the quality of care exceptional, and My peace of mind paramount. I can go without but I would be compromising the quality of care if I brought him elsewhere. I've done my research. Daycare is a given love but boarding is different. I would not even let a friend care for him on an overnight; only Alpha Dog. That is how exceptional this facility is. My little Elvis has been diagnosed with 2 health challenges ; both of which require medication administered a total of 5 times per day, once in the middle of the night, and that he stays warm because of one condition. They have gone above and beyond for my Elvis this weekend . He is thoroughly checked it, the staff is impeccable following instructions. In fact one of his conditions was first noticed there . I called twice a day and happily given an update, , always making time for my little check ins. I would not nor will I ever take my dog elsewhere . I trust them as much as I trust myself making decisions for my dog in an emergency. I KNOW he will get the BEST CARE . I am so grateful to amazing staff whom my dog goes crazy walking in and seeing the staff. He is fighting to get out of my arms to them and he doesn't look back. He's so happy, and I have peace of mind knowing he is in the ABSOLUTE BEST facility in Marin , Sonoma and San Francisco County. And no I'm not on their payroll.

I've been bringing our dog, Storm, here for the past five years, and we couldn't be happier with the care and love she gets every time. From the moment we pull into the parking lot, Storm is so excited. And by the time we pick her up, she's happy and tired. The front desk staff knows Storm and us by heart, which always makes drop-offs and pick-ups feel personal and welcoming. It's clear they genuinely care about the dogs in their care, and that means the world to us. Even it's for a day of play or an extended boarding stay, we fully trust them. It gives us peace of mind whenever we're away, and we're so grateful for it.

AlphaDog is incredible. We've sent four dogs--of different sizes and temperaments--here over the past 7 years, and all of them love it! Everyone at AlphaDog is super friendly, and they truly care about the pups. They give each dog individualized attention, really pay attention to all of them and give us useful "pupdates," and we always know the dogs are in great hands at AlphaDog. The true testament is that the pups are truly so pumped up to go there for daycare or for boarding--they love Ashley, Byron, and all of the rest of the staff. We honestly feel so thankful to find somewhere the dogs love going, knowing they are so happy and love playing in the yard all day while all sleeping together at night. Cannot recommend enough.

My dog and I both LOVE AlphaDog. I brought him to their puppy socialization classes when he was young, and now he is a regular for both boarding and daycare. He's always thrilled when I ask if he's ready to go to "school". From the start, every single staff member has been friendly to me and loving to my little Alfie. Dropoff and pick up are always a happy and easy process because they know each dog and how to best take care of them. My dog is a picky eater and they figure out how to get him to eat, and they always let me know if something seems off with him. He always comes home happy and tired after playing with his friends, both dog and human!

We went to AlphaDog for service animal training our pup, Fermi, and have nothing but glowing reviews. Sierra, our trainer, is one of the best we've ever encountered. If you're looking for a service animal trainer in the Bay Area, your search ends here. Sierra understands, intuitively and through extensive experience, how to break down each task in a way that makes it easy and fast for Fermi to learn. She knows how to assess each dog's strengths and weaknesses to then tailor her approach to each individual dog. She's an amazing balance of love and boundaries and have also taught us how to be better dog parents and teachers to our pup. She is genuinely delighted by Fermi; it is such an amazing feeling to see another person care for our dog the way that we care for her. Most importantly, Fermi loves Sierra! Every time we drop her off for training and Fermi sees Sierra, she gets so excited and her tail spins like a helicopter. Our family is going through a hard time right now with serious health issues and we are so grateful that Fermi is able to show up as a professionally trained service animal all thanks to Sierra. Our lives are forever changed by AlphaDog.

Michael Wombacher is the real deal! We just completed his obedience class and I just loved it. His knowledge and practicality make for an amazing combination in his classes. Worth the time investment and cost...ABSOLUTELY. Are going for more..without a doubt.

AlphaDog lodging and training has been amazing for my Great Dane puppy! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make sure my dog is safe, comfortable and has a fantastic time. The facility is clean and organized, and there is plenty of space on the play yard. The dogs get out and play with supervised play time. The training staff is wonderful! I can't recommend AlphaDog enough. If you have to go away, need daycare, or training for your dog, there is no better place.

I have two high energy pit mixes whose leash reactivity had gotten worse in the past half year, and it had reached a point where it was unmanageable because they would start barking and lunging at other dogs even from a healthy distance. I met with a few trainers to get a sense of their methods and styles, and Ceslie felt like the best match because of how she took the extra time to know my dogs and understand their behavior before recommending a plan, compared to others who jumped into training without asking many questions. There was a noticeable difference in how my dogs responded to Ceslie after their first class. She was thoughtful in customizing a plan that fit their needs, from teaching proper corrections to reinforcing obedience to providing the right equipment. She also taught me how to be a better handler (something often overlooked in training!), and it's truly strengthened my relationship with my pups. We had weekly sessions over the course of a month and there has been significant improvement in my dogs' behavior. Walks are stress-free and enjoyable again because we're able to bypass other dogs without issues, their door etiquette has improved, and we're now slowly working on their separation anxiety (slow and steady process but we're making progress!). Ceslie has been incredibly supportive and responsive through it all and I'm very grateful for her guidance with what I thought was a hopeless situation. I'm now considering sending the pups to her daycare program!

"You don't train the dog; you train the handler."…read more This couldn't be more relevant having worked with Ceslie. To be clear, while I saw training results with my pup by day 2, I didn't realize how imperative it is for YOU to learn patience and consistently implement the training. Point being, you are a student, and Ceslie is an incredible teacher. Her experience and knowledge are obvious, but what's special is how quickly she identifies the issues and gets you on track, like day 1, it was uplifting. Ceslie gets it. She'll adapt to your style and help you get to that obedience baseline you want to see in your dog. She balances compassion with firm direction-- Ceslie's a pro. For context, my guy was 7 months old at the time, rescue, half German shepherd mix w/ HIGH ENERGY... oh, and 75lbs. While he's never shown aggression, he's a liability because he LOVES everyone-- favored meeting strangers over recall, jumps on people, would be a brat, throwing tantrums when given commands. I always wanted a dog, but I was overwhelmed. Within a month (mornings, 4 days a week), I hit baseline with my dog--- he recalls, he doesn't jump, most importantly, taught him to fetch so I could properly get energy out of him... such an immense amount of weight lifted. Proof of progress with pics (she sent me photos of training each day) TLDR; Ceslie rocks. Stop looking.

I could never understand places that could watch cats. It seems to go against their demeanor…read more My friend has been bringing all her cats here from the beginning of their opening saying how unique it was- that was the last time I visited, and I am so surprised how well it has been tweaked to perfection with A/C/air etc. but especially at this place! I know another place in San Rafael that had like some giant room with all the cats, which sounded chaotic to me. People would say, "oh it works out" or "you just need to have that kind of social cat." My cat is chill but doesn't care for the interloping neighbor cats -so wasn't sure how this would work out. She gets so upset with a visitng cat coming face to face with her in our windows. This place has little suites of different sizes for each cat or groups of cats from the same family and you can get video updates on your cat, plus extras if you so choose; like If you want to FaceTime your cat daily etc. This was my first time going and I was in a pinch, really needed a place for my cat to stay so we had to try it, it was slow going at the beginning, first video was all dark cause she was in her carrier hunkered down, but the final kitty email we got on the day of pick up our cat was out of her carrier taking pets and sweet talking although also kind of growling and hissing, ultimately kind of came around which was pretty amazing. I realize cats are not wanting change, certain cats, especially probably mine, but I was impressed to see the progress from her on that last day. Definitely worth a try it if you are in a pinch with a very picky cat. My cat is up at the crack of dawn, climbing trees and loves the garden and watching the wildlife fly in and out of the garden and sleeping in different window sill etc. comes in late. I do feel like next time she could get to the top of the perch of her suite next time and realize it is another version of her climbing tree. The staff totally understands the personality of cats, what they want and don't want, they are the boss and they are just so sweet to them and understanding. It goes a long way and takes very special talent to do this job great which they do .

Also they were really flexible and accommodated my schedule which made things so much easier for me. My younger cat Mango it is very anxious and do not do very well in new places, but they were so good with him that when I picked him up he wasn't stressed out at all about being away from home. Plus they sent me a "cat mail" which made me feel so much relieved seing that my babies were doing well during the day. I would definitely recommend and use their services again. 10/10

I work in Sausalito, and came across the website and yelp reviews - which all seemed positive. My dog was just in need of a bath, nail trim, etc - no cut. I called to schedule a same-day appointment, and Becky (I believe her name was?) was very nice and told me to drop off my dog in about an hour because she had to call the groomer in from Petaluma. I went down to drop my dog off and had to wait a bit for Ellen (the groomer) to arrive. Becky said I could drop my dog with the man at boarding, but being my first time there, I wanted to chat with the groomer to explain what I wanted. After waiting about 20 minutes, the man from boarding came over and said he would sign me in and I could drop off my dog with him. I decided to, being that I had been gone for a while and needed to return to work. I filled out the information card, and dropped off Tommy (my golden retriever) with the man. As I was walking out to my car, I passed Ellen (the groomer) as she was arriving- she had all of her dog cleaning supplies with her. She asked, "did you just drop off your dog?". I told her yes, and asked when I could expect him to be ready. She asked what I wanted done & I explained (just as I explained when I made the appointment) I wanted a wash, nail trim, etc. (no cut). She responded, "WHAT? NO CUT? I drove all this way just for THAT? It's a long way to drive for no cut!" I took this to be incredibly rude, so I decided to go back in and get Tommy and forgo giving my business to someone who would treat a customer this way. When I went back in, she told me that her comment wasn't rude and asked that I not take my dog because she is a "good groomer". I obviously did take him, and called her boss to explain what happened. Becky did offer me a discount and a different groomer, but I decided to pass on that.
