CindyLou is a treasure. I love her, and her lovely assistant. The dogs are always cheery and running around an open space with cubbies they can hang out in if they wish. Update: We have been taking our sleeker (120#) Bullmastiff to Cindy for almost 7 years now. When he was about a year and a half he developed a skin irritation that produced sores all over his body. The vets couldn't figure it out. Cindy recommended a medicinal shampoo and the problem dissipated in just a couple of months. Our dog does not take to many people but loves Cindy. He can't wait to get inside. My wife took previous dogs - two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - to Cindy as well. She thoroughly understood how the breed ought to be cut. How is Cindy with humans? We just adopted a 9-year-old Aussie whose owner passed away recently. I was a little worried about leaving her with a new groomer in the midst of all the other upheaval she's experienced, but she badly needed a summer trim, and Cindy came recommended from a neighbor I trust vis a vis Dog Stuff and also could fit her in this weekend (sorry for the run-on sentence, but not rewriting this.) For two decades, Cindy has groomed my dogs. They were always happy to go to Boulevard Dogs, and were always beautifully groomed when i have picked them up. My darling dogs are gone now, but Quigley Lillie and Casey, were happily taken care of for 2 decades in all. I will be bringing a new shelter doggie when one is found. If you want to do business with someone who has no respect for their clients and a passive aggressive attitude please come here. My last review was 5 stars - what a mistake. The reason I'm changing my rating is because I've never been treated as rudely by a business owner as I was today. I've been coming to Cindy for over a year to have my dogs' nails trimmed and over this time I learned that if you're not there by 9:00 am on, Saturdays, she won't provide the service. As a result I always get here around 8:45 - 8:50 am so I can be respectful of her time. Today I arrived at 8:45 am and was parked right outside her front door leaning on my car waiting for Cindy to arrive. A moment later I heard the door behind the metal screen door shut. I opened the screen and looked through the window and saw her sitting behind the counter. She clearly looked at me but didn't acknowledge I was there. When 9:05 am rolled around there were people ready to drop of their dogs for grooming and when she opened the door she acknowledged the other customers but walked right past me to drop her mail in the box. When she turned around she looked me dead in the eye and said she wasn't doing my dogs nails today. SO she had the nerve to let me stand outside of her door starting at 8:45 am knowing she wasn't going to help me and wasn't courteous enough to let me know this. Moreover she wasn't the least bit kind or polite to me! I can't respect or do business with someone who would let me waste over 15 minutes of my time. That's completely disrespectful. Not only was this disrespectful but she was absolutely rude about it. If she has the nerve to treat me like this to my face then how do you think she would she treat my pets (who I consider family members) when I'm not there. I CANNOT AND WILL NOT TRUST HER AGAIN. Doing business with her is like walking on egg shells. She obviously works with animals because she is certainly not a people person. (I've tolerated this because of convenience but also tolerated a mediocre result with her work). So for this reason I will never, ever give her my business again. Moreover I will tell this story to anyone who will listen (and already have) because no one should have to deal with this type of behavior when you're paying someone for their services. Especially when SHE OWNS THE BUSINESS! If you don't want my money just be honest. Honesty is something I can respect. Attitude just ticks me off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS! read more

We started taking our dog to Cindy Lou at Boulvard Dogs after we had an upsetting experience at another groomers. It is not the most up to date beautiful doggie salon, but they do Cindy does a great job! Ever since our upsetting experience with the other groomer, my dog is terrified of the groomers and yelps at the top of her lungs when we drop her of and leave - but Cindy is steadfast and friendly and always takes good care of her! She does a great job on the grooming, calls back in a timely manner for appointment set ups and is just a down to earth, frindly individual that does a great job! read more

Our rough-coated collie hadn't been professionally groomed for too long, plus with a hand injury, I was having trouble even brushing her out much. Cindy did a fantastic job with our girl, she's never looked better. I was concerned she might be too sensitive if the groomer was too strident, but Cindy told my husband she did great. Tucker returns to Blvd Dogs for bath and blo dry once a month - Cyndi introduced me to Tucker - a rescue 3 yr old Bernese/Border Collie mix who was being cleaned up for placement with a family in gold country. Two months later Cyndi called and asked if I was interested in Tucker... it had not worked out with his new family. I can't tell you how happy we are to have found Cindy and Boulevard Dogs! I just took my 65lb goldendoodle and 25lb cockapoo in for the first time for baths and cuts (the works) and not only did they look perfect when I picked them up, but they were done within just a few hours - Places I have taken my dogs in the past would keep them there for hours sometimes 7+ hours (just too long) - Cindy is super friendly and clearly loves the dogs. She knew exactly what kind of cuts I wanted for my pups and executed them perfectly. Last but certainly not least, there were NO hidden charges when it came time to pay the bill - I have had bad experiences with another local groomer adding all sorts of crazy hidden charges. Cindy is clearly great at what she does and is an honest business women and I look forward to working with her moving forward! Thank you, Cindy! Cindy Lou does great work and she has a lot of compassion for the dogs. I had 2 Russian Wolfhound sisters (95-lbs each), and they loved spending the morning getting groomed at Boulevard Dogs. Today was Chester's first trip to Boulevard Dog. He looks great. This has been the best haircut for our Mini Golden Doodle. Cindy totally understood what I wanted his new haircut to look like. He didn't come out too short. I love how professional Cindy is when dropping him off. It was so smooth and Chester felt so comfortable right from the start. I must agree with Mike about Ms. Cindy's rudeness with her customers because I too had a similar experience with her not too long ago. I took my little shih-tzu to her on an appointment I had sett a week in advance. I warned her, that my puppy was difficult to groom but she accepted to do the job anyway, when I went to pick-up my dog I realized she hasn't bin able to complete the grooming that ended up in a half ass job and Instead of apologizing for an incomplete job, she said "I just cant !!!" and demanded me to put cash on her desk on my way out and on top off that she with a rude tone tells me not to bring him here again!!. She asked me not to go there again, but what she doesn't know is, to be quite frank I wasn't planing on go there again, and I do NOT recommend her to anyone either. read more

I just need to praise Cindy for being the best dog groomer in the known universe. She knows her work and treats dogs with respect .Our little dog, Cyrus, is a neurotic little Havenese rescue dog ( from MILO! ) and he always comes away from Cindy's Salon calm and beautiful. I don't think he is the easiest dog to groom but Cindy has a way with animals. And that is something I respect so much. It does not matter that there is not the "ambiance" that so many people seem to require in Marin. It is ambient for dogs and that is what matters. Sorry to report - our double coated dog returned from his grooming experience looking good, but strangely agitated and unhappy. We immediately suspected that he'd not been treated well, and decided that we'd not return to Boulevard Dogs. Fast forward about 10 days, and we've discovered that our dog is covered in tiny scabs, evidence of an overzealous grooming, likely inflicted by a Furminator or similar tool. Heartbroken to have subjected our sweet dog to a traumatic experience, and hope others avoid a similar outcome. read more

I took my blind very fearful rescue dog to Cindy last week for a grooming. I recently moved my dog to the bay area from SoCal and my dog was always traumatized after a trip to the groomers in the past, and would neurotically chase her tail for 24 - 48 hours upon return and not want to eat. I had tried several groomers in the past, and figured I was doing the best I could. Not so - it was a miraculous improvement with Cindy. She was obviously very sweet and patient - a "dog whisperer" - my dog was relaxed upon returning home, and her behavior was completely normal after being groomed with Cindy. I confess the hair cut wasn't exactly the style I had wanted - but it was our first time there, and Cindy was so apologetic. It was not a problem with capability - just communication about what was wanted. As far as I am concerned, those things can be worked out over time and are just not as important as a happy clean peaceful dog. And that's what I got, she smelled wonderful (but not overly perfumey), was very soft and looked adorable. And was happy! What can I say? :-) . FYI, there were several dogs there with very fancy precise cuts - Cindy knows what she's doing. But most important to me, she has her priorities straight, she cares about the well being of the dogs she is grooming. Highly recommended.. read more
