I don't know what I would have done without Gus and Pet Peeps when I was living in DC!
I traveled out of town at least twice a month (seasonally it could be as frequent as four times a month), and have two cats that needed to be cared for in my absence. When I initially called Gus to inquire about Pet Peeps and his services, I had been burned badly by two previous pet sitting services where dependability, professionalism and a sincere concern for my cats became serious issues. I needed to know that I could trust a pet sitting service to be professional in my home, caring and sensitive with my cats (one has severe fear aggression and requires extra TLC), dependable and available for last minute schedule changes. This is exactly what I got with Gus and Pet Peeps,....and more!
Because of my previous negative experiences with pet sitting services, I was very cautious and thorough in my screening of new services, and Gus was incredibly professional and gracious in our initial introductions, which included an extensive phone screen and two in-person meetings where he spent time with my cats and got to know their individual needs etc. He took great care to understand the necessary procedures to take when dealing with my aggressive cat, and he was patient, understanding and very compassionate. He quickly became my 'go-to' pet sitting service and I became a loyal (and frequent) client.
I knew that I could always depend on Gus and Pet Peeps to take care of my cats in the requested time frame, he always called to let me know that the status of the cats upon his first visit, and to confirm that they were doing well. He was incredibly flexible and accommodating with last minute requests and schedule changes, was quick to respond to any questions and always was able to confirm a request for service right away, so I knew that I could count on his help. His online scheduling tool was incredibly helpful, user friendly and convenient, as I could access it from my travels. He would leave notes when I returned with a last status update on the cats, the cat feeding area was always clean, the dishes were neatly put away, and the litter box meticulously edited.
Most of all, Gus went above and beyond in getting to know my cat that suffers from fear aggression and was very patient with her initial behavior and even discovered that she is always in 'better spirits' during the morning hours (go figure!) and adjusted his schedule to visit my cats in the morning hours so she would be less agitated and in order to cause less stress for my cat.
Unfortunately, after a few years of superior quality service, I had to move from DC to another city, and finding another cat sitter was a daunting process, because I knew I would not be able to find someone who had as much sincere care for my cats, such a professional approach, and such dependability and flexibility as Gus and Pet Peeps!
