The first day I came Pet Fair my heart was truly broken from my experience at Petland that I decided to try Petfair the same day.. Potty training has been a 7.5 out of 10 and I honestly think we only had minor accidents because he's getting use to his new home! Today, my bf and I went to Pet Fair (the one located inside the mall). I'm not from The Woodlands, so I wasn't aware of what kind of store it was. We walked in after noticing the puppies, thinking we might be able to pet a Yorkie and possibly play with them a little. However, the store immediately raised several red flags. We found out their puppies come from a local breeder, which is extremely concerning, especially in a retail setting that clearly prioritizes sales over animal welfare. Supporting breeders like this, particularly in a mall environment, feels very unethical when there are so many other shelters and verified locations that properly maintain animals in desperate need of a home. We asked to see one of the Yorkies in the top cages but were told we could only interact with puppies from the bottom row. This policy made no sense, especially since we had just seen another customer playing with a Yorkie from the top. When we pointed this out, a staff member claimed the top row puppies couldn't be brought out due to health concerns. If that were truly the case, they shouldn't have taken the other Yorkie out in the first place. Things got even more strange when my boyfriend mentioned we might be interested in purchasing a dog, hoping this would allow us some interaction time. Immediately, the employee began asking about his credit and whether we were planning to finance the purchase. They basically expect a deposit just to TOUCH a puppy. That policy was very weird imo. Puppies are living beings, not luxury items to be sold on credit. Overall, the experience was unsettling and left me quite upset. It felt more like an intense sales environment than a place that genuinely cares for animals. Their policy says they'll refund for certain vet bills post purchase. They confirmed they'd send the refund by Sept 29. DO NOT BUY PETS FROM PET FAIR, I AGREE WITH all the reviews it's a total scam. My friend and I bought two puppies from pet fair and Omar our sales guy told us that he was going to give us the puppies for 4,400 so we can divide the payment equally since we got two. BUT not even a week goes by and our puppies get extremely sick and we lost almost a month with them, and they WONT even consider lowering the price or anything when they told us the puppies were perfectly fine and healthy! It's not okay and fair we lost time with our puppies that we believed were perfectly healthy. We weren't aware that they had a sickness so my other dogs at home got sick, it's more money we have to spend to take them to the vet, and in the end my friend returned her puppy and my price of my puppy went up almost 1,000 dollars in one day I don't understand why. and she still had to pay for her puppy she doesn't have. I then go pick up my puppy and my puppy still has Giardia and Coccidia after they had told me once again she was healthy, she was still popping blood when pet fair told us they were going to test my dog and said it was negative and when I took her to the vet, the veterinary doctor told us they never got tested for anything and I had took her home and my dog has been sick for almost a month and pet fair is not willing to help me reduce the price for my baby when I haven't been with her. It's really not okay! MAKE SURE TO READ THE CONTRACT, ANYTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PUPPY THEY WILL SAY ITS IN THE CONTRACT and say "my hands are tied." Now another 2 weeks without my fur baby until she gets "better" and if she's not better then they said we have to wait 2 weeks again. We have to keep driving 50min to complain for them to just say "you should've read the contract" when they literally promised the dogs were healthy so we did not mind reading it because we trusted their words. My husband and I had a good experience purchasing our Cocker Spaniel puppy. The store gave a discount ($100) because we are veterans and we were able to purchase the kennel, food, shampoo, treats, collar, leash and travel bag for our new pup. The salesperson was very informative and gave us tips on how to transition our pup into our home. Shot records and other document was given to us. We had the option of micro chipping our pup. We've received a complimentary vet visit to a nearby VCA. Our pup had kennel cough and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and the vet gave us medicine and follow up care for him. We are taking care of him and he is taking his medicine. I'm on the fence right now about recommending at the moment, but will provide and update at a later date. read more

I was visiting the Woodlands Mall today, and I thought I would stop in to see the puppies. Immediately, I was shocked at how small the kennels were. Many of the puppies looked very sad and in distress. There is a few dogs that are by themselves in the kennels, and they did not look well taken care of. I would caution you before supporting a business like this. I wish I had enough money to take them all home, but they would just go get more and that defeats the purpose. These dogs constantly look very sad, there are at least 3 of them in a tiny cage 24/7 with poop and pee all over the cages. You have to be 18 to play with any animals but you constantly see little kids handling them dangerously. One time I held a cat with fleas. Although the kittens look happy, healthy, and well-cared for at the entrance to the store, the puppies and piggies are crammed together in tiny glass cages, similar to what other pet stores use for animals no larger than guinea pigs or chinchillas. In addition, some of the puppies appeared to be pretty unhealthy and miserable, and nearly all of them seemed lethargic. There was also a sick dog smell that permeated the entire store and being in a busy shopping mall, I can only imagine how stressed out some of the animals must be. Unlike most pet stores these days, which work with local animal shelters and rescue agencies to adopt dogs and cats, it doesn't appear that any of the animals are rescues; it seems that more than anything else, the animals, not what little food, toys, or accessories they sell, are the commodities here. My biggest concern here, like nearly all other reviewers, is that most of the animals are obviously not being properly cared for and that this store may be sourcing at least its puppies from puppy mills or other disreputable breeders. To be honest, I haven't seen a pet store with conditions like this in many years. Something needs to be done about it and I cannot emphasize this enough, if you're looking to adopt a cat or dog, please support your local shelter or rescue agency, or even a reputable breeder, instead. As adorable as the kittens here are, until conditions for all of the animals here improve, I cannot give this place my blessing. As many have stated, they were given dogs that were sick or even represented as a different breed. No reputable breeder would give their dogs to a pet store. Reputable breeders are involved in the dogs life until birth until they pass. They would not let their dogs be put in a box for people to window shop and let just anyone get their dogs. They will make sure the person they are giving the dog to is a good fit for each others needs based on the traits they exhibit while growing up. They will readily present any information on health tests and pedigree without hesitation. Reputable breeders will also ensure socialization throughout their puppies lives to set them up for success. Also note that pet fair is not fully upfront about their breeders; however, any reputable breeders would want their information to be shared openly as they have nothing to hide. I have been to this place several times, they have signs up saying to not take pictures. The dogs are a small amount of room throughout the day. The smaller dogs do get to come out and play, however, their boxes are not adequate for day to day living. The dogs have poop and pee on them as expected when they have such a small space being shared with multiple that are playing around. I will say that the employees seem to be nice. They will come up and ask if you are interested in any dogs or want to take them out. I'm sure they love the puppies there are care about them. Overall, if you purchase a dog here, you will be supporting the continuation of these horrible breeding practices. You will be paying enormously high prices under the false assumption that you will be getting a puppy bred to the standard of their breed and bred for quality. You can get a puppy for the same price or less that are bred to standard, have a more predictable temperament, are healthy, and are socialized. This isn't to bash those that have already purchased from them but rather to inform others before supporting this business. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! I purchased a puppy on 12/13/2020 and within days he was very sick, lethargic, and stopped eating. I took him to VCA and they stated he had Coccidia and would feel better after having some medicine. The next day he became much worse. I called VCA and they stated that I needed to contact Pet Fair and that they believe he needed to be tested for Parvo. The Pet Fair staff told me to bring him in as soon as possible so that he could be taken to their veterinarian. I took him in immediately. They took the puppy from me and said they would call with an update. The next day my husband called and was told that the puppy was doing better and had eaten. The following day I called and was told he is eating on his own and that they wanted to keep him for 1-2 more days for monitoring. I asked the manager Kelly if he was still vomiting and he diarrhea and she stated she didn't know but would check. The next morning she called and said he had died!!! I went into pet fair and Kelly stated that she believes he had parvo because his litter mate tested positive for it, but stated that my puppy was never parvo tested. My husband called her and asked what vet she took him to to find out why he was not tested and she stated she took him to VCA and then HOME to care for him. I contacted both locations of VCA that they use and there are NO RECORDS of any dogs from Pet Fair being seen the days they had my dog. Kelly neglected my dog and it cost him his life. Kelly now refuses to return my husbands phone call or produce any vet records as we requested. read more

This place is terrible, we bought a dog from here and almost immediately after we got him home, we knew something was wrong, took him to a vet outside of the once they suggest cause we couldn't wait 3 days for him to be seen. They are purposely selling sick animals in here and if u return them because of health they still wanna keep over half the money you spent on their sick dog. There has to be a class action suit against this. Contract or not, you shouldn't be allowed to sell a sick dog and then if the person decides to return the dog for health reasons u keep half their money. After coughing up nearly 700 dollars in vet bills for tests and treatments I'm still waiting to find out what's wrong I will update post later. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
