In fact, Gentle Care Grooming just signed another 5 year lease so they are "here to stay". Vanessa (the owner) and her husband run a 2 man show. I have taken both of my dogs (shitzaus) there for the past 13 years and I can say without a doubt that they do a wonderful job. I always feel my dogs have been well taken care of and loved while they are away at the "beauty shop". Their building is in a little bit of a run down strip mall but don't let that influence you from using them. Their hours can get a little tricky as they are only open from 7:30am to 3pm (or whenever the last dog gets picked up) Tuesday - Saturday. This is NOT a doggy day care so be expected to pick up your pet close to the time he/she will be finished. Have you cash or check book handy as do not take any credit cards. I would highly recommend this groomer to anyone in need of one!

You have to walk through and wash right…read morewhere they are doing their work; the floors are wet and full of hair, there are dogs everywhere in crates and possibly loose like there were today (2 who were not tethered to anything), the soap is in a 1 gallon jug and watered down (so they say you can pour it directly on your dog easily), the tiled area around the tub is rusty, you have to step away from the tub area to get a towel. All in all very poor if you are looking for a quality location to self-wash your dog. Have not used their grooming service so I won't speak to that side of their business but the square footage seems too small for that combined with a self-wash. We won't be going back.

He had bleeding cuts to the skin in his peri area and ears. It will take months to grow back the disgusting job they did on our beloved family member. They did refund my money, after first arguing that's how golden's are typically done. Ask your local vet. They will tell you to stay far, far away from this place. I try to support local businesses, but this is one place you should definitely skip. Full Disclosure: our dog gets groomed monthly, previously at Dog Savvy in downtown Denver, Colorado. (That is a wonderful place should you happen to move there) He is a winning show dog that just needs maintenance trims in between trips to the breeder for the real deal.

He very sarcastically asked, "Do you girls need help or something?" as if our crime was peacefully existing near the bird section. But wait, it gets better. As we were leaving, another employee told us to "have a nice day." We thought, "Finally, someone nice!" So we said she was nice, only to be rewarded with one of the dirtiest looks we've ever received. Apparently complimenting an employee is frowned upon now. Overall, if you're looking for a place where you can feel like an inconvenience for browsing and leave questioning what just happened, this Petco might be the perfect destination. Thanks for the confusion, awkwardness, and accidental comedy show. Truly a five-star experience--if the stars are for attitude.
