Their grooming service is FANTASTIC!!! Alesha has been bathing and grooming my dogs once a month for about 18 months now. My lab is a little shy, and always hated the dryer when I tried to bathe her in their self-wash, but Alesha has been willing to work with her, and they always come back clean and shiny, and stay smelling good for a solid few weeks. My doodle is more confident, and always gets excited about going for grooming. The extra touch of them coming back with a bandana and looking all cute, combined with the fact that my dogs love her so much is why I won't take them anywhere else. read more

My fiance and I recently moved to the area and were looking for a nice place to watch our pets while we were out of town. We saw reviews for Pet Craze and thought we would give them a try. You first have to sign your pets up with Pet Craze and bring them in to see how they will react to the environment. When we got there we filled out some paperwork and they took both of our dogs to the back. After about 30 minutes they brought them back to us and said they did great. We scheduled them to be dropped off from November 6th to November 10th. I made sure to prepackage each meal for both dogs and write their names on the bags to make things easier on the staff. I also packed a 10 ounce package of bone broth. When we dropped them off with the food and the done broth I gave them a handwritten detailed note just telling them how much bone broth to give (which was about a tablespoon). While we were gone I called multiple times to make sure our pets were doing okay and each time they reassured me everything was great. On November 10th we picked up the dogs and was never given the rest of the bone broth. I was so excited to get my dogs back home that I just let it go. When I got home I noticed my dog had a cut on her left eye. My first reaction was anger but after speaking with my fiance about it I calmed down and thought it may have just been her rough housing with another dog. The second time we took our dogs to Pet Craze it was for one night but we still prepackage their food and provided bone broth but again never got it back. Once more we gave them the benefit of the doubt and let it go. However, my other dog acted terrified of my fiance and I. As soon as she got home she went straight to her kennel and would not come out. Now for the third time we took our dogs to Pet Craze. We dropped them off on December 19th and picked them up on December 27th but before dropping them off we asked them to please make sure we get our bone broth back this time to which they said "okay". I called and checked on the dogs as I usually do and again was reassured that everything was going well.. When we got the dogs and their bed in the car and I took my mask off I got an overwhelming scent of urine. We got home and noticed there was a huge hole in one of my dog's bed and the foam was saturated with urine to the point that the cloth covering was pretty much dry. I reached over and smelled my dog and she smelled STRONGLY of urine. It is as if she was sleeping on her urine saturated bed... I was fuming... ALSO we never got the bone broth. My fiance called them today and they had no explanation for anything. They said they did not have a good sense of smell but said the bed is most likely wet because she was dragging her bed over to the water (which is something she has NEVER done). My dog loves her bed and would never pee on it or rip it apart.. but even if she did do these things why wasn't I told about it before I picked her up especially with how many times I usually call to check on them??? read more

We have a golden retriever who needs frequent grooming and they do a phenomenal job with her... everyone there treats our dogs like they would treat their own pets, we love this place! read more

We love taking our Rottie here for the self serve wash stations due to his large size. It's very easy and they also have a rewards program where you can get one free wash after a certain amount of wages). They also offer the best variety of RAW food options in the area as well as holistic products. Highly recommend! read more

Pet craze is an absolutely fantastic place. The customer service is quite good and they are knowledgable about their store and products. I often take my dogs for the self-wash due to the size and amount of hair my dog has. The bathtub in our home just doesn't cut it. Everything works well and the shampoo and conditioner are great. The salon is incredible to. Lila does our dogs nail trimmings with gentle professionalism and patience. I have never used their day kennel or overnight boarding, but have heard great things from my friends who have used them. I look forward to trying them out! read more

As someone who used to work there for several years, including when they opened the kennel, I made several observations. Based on those I never boarded my dogs there while I worked there nor would I ever in the future. 1.The owner had her 3 year old Husky, which they had since he was 8 weeks old, put down because they couldn't control it. They were told by several people before they got a Husky that this is a tough breed. This dog showed food aggressive behavior since the day they brought it home, but they didn't do anything about it and it got worse as he got older and also turned into possessive issues over food, toys, and sometimes people. He was in a house that had a continuous string of people coming in and I think this made him nervous. The owner made no effort to find a new home for him let alone an environment where there was less commotion, they just had him killed. This makes me feel like this owner has no business running a facility that takes care of other people's dogs. 2.There are no established safety protocols. When the original kennel manager tried to create and enforce them, she was reprimanded by the owner for yelling at other employees. Shortly after the kennels opened up a Min Pin got out and across the parking lot twice in one day because the worker didn't bother to take the time to put up the barrier while he went through the doors. That same employee was also in charge of the kennel when a dog, a Fox Terrier, nearly died on Nov 7, 2016. The door to the playroom from the kennel was open and none of the gates in the room were latched. The Terrier got out of his kennel and ran into the play room and got attacked by a dog in the playroom, that was known to be dog aggressive, and had him by the throat. The business owner always said that she is there in case of emergencies, but when she was called to take the dog to the vet she told them to call the assistant kennel manager instead. That dog had to wait 20-30 minutes before someone showed up to take it to the vet. I am not sure why one of the two kennel workers on duty could not take it to the vet right away. 3.None of the kennels workers when they are hired are trained to read or understand animal behavior. Even after she sent me and the kennel manager to a 3 day kennel seminar to learn different ways to improve the business. Because of this dogs are not properly grouped nor do the employees have an understanding of how to introduce new dogs into a group. I saw many dogs shaking in a corner, or running away from all the other dogs because they were scared of being in a large group. Also, we had a Border Collie who was considered a Red Dog (aggressive with all or a majority of dogs) placed in a large group of small dogs. This resulted in it piercing one of those dog's ears. They decided instead of placing it in a small group of dogs she was known to get along with they decided she was only allowed to play by herself. While I was working there they did not tell the owner she was a Red dog or moved to solo play, they only told her that she was difficult with some dogs. 4.There is little to no supervision in the playroom. While I worked retail I know there were several occasions that I tried to get their attention either because I was holding dogs apart or because there was a pick up or drop off for boarding, but both kennel employees had taken their break at the same time. Even after attending the kennel seminar the owner didn't want to put someone in the playroom, I got the impression it was because she didn't want to spend money on more employees nor charge more for kenneling/ day care. Even though having that extra person observing the dogs would improve their safety and prevent a lot of the scuffles and fights that have happened and sent dogs to the vet. Dogs have even been injured while employees are in the room cleaning because they are not paying full attention to the dogs. 5.One of the employees showed me a video on his phone that he thought was hilarious. The video was of a dog being tormented by being chased around the playroom and then trapped in a corner where tried to roll onto his back, but was too close to the corner and was propped into the corner instead. The dog tried to show submission by peeing. The two employees were laughing the whole time in the background of the video because they thought it was hilarious that he was scared and then peed himself like a water fountain. The kennel manager shrugged off this video, and any time the owner was told of this type of behavior by these two employees towards the dogs she too shrugged it off and told me that they are just boys. Also because of these two employees, another employee of Pet Craze decided not to board any of her dogs there anymore. I made more observations while I worked there, but these are the main reasons I would not keep my dogs there. I will not shop or support any of the stores that are owned by this person read more

If you looking for doggy daycare or overnight boarding this is a place you'll want to check out. We have used them for daycare on rainy days and 5 days of boarding while on travel. The kennel manager is very professional as is her staff. when dropping off, our dog she is happy and ready to play. When we pick her up from daycare she is exhausted from enjoying her day with doggy friends. After a week of boarding we pick her up all bathed, groomed and looking beautiful. We needed to board a dog from a Wednesday night until Sunday morning. They were very upfront that there was no room on the Wednesday night, and that we would have to schedule an appointment for an interview the next day, as well as have her shot records faxed up. The woman I talked to told me a price, and even the size of kennel ($22/night for a medium kennel Thursday-Sunday) We were fine with this as it was last minute and we were happy to find someone at all. The next day came, and we woke up early to call the vet to fax the records, and then called Pet Craze to make sure that they received them. That's when we were informed that there would be an additional charge for Thursday during the day for "doggy day care" which we never even inquired about, and then be charged for boarding, IF there was room. So, either the kennels magically filled up after hours, or they weren't even aware that they were looking after the dogs in those "empty" kennels, because after we had set aside part of our day off, the empty kennels were suddenly occupied and we were being offered a service we didn't even know existed (that we didn't ask for) with a possibility of receiving the one we originally inquired and set up an appointment for. Huge waste of my time, but I'm glad we didn't leave her there, because apparently they can't tell the difference between an empty kennel and one with a dog in it. read more

Customer service here is beyond a joke. Be ready for dumb looks if you have any questions. My dogs would be happier staying at the vet than a place that looks and smells like it never gets cleaned. That could have been overlooked had the staff maybe been just the slightest bit friendly. read more

Hidden gem! The store is on the lower level side street in the Graves Mill Shopping Ctr (where Food Lion is). I have been here several times and the staff are always polite and friendly and greet me when I arrive and ask if I need help with anything. I also boarded my dogs in June and they did very well. I called back a couple of times to check on them because they have never boarded before. The staff didn't seem annoyed and talked to me about how my dogs were adjusting to their new surroundings. Today I used the grooming service for the first time. I work nearby and was overjoyed when I learned that I could leave my dogs in the morning on the way to work and pick them up on the way home. The haircuts are exactly what I asked for. I have always had a great experience at Pet Craze. I also love that in the store, they will sometimes tape a coupon to the product. Great idea! Thanks! They also keep track of my dog food purchases and when I have bought 10 bags my next one will be free! I could not be happier. read more
