I drive my dogs from Northern Virginia to go to Laurel Stone. I trust them and they take great care of my "fur babies!"

We love Dr Pasternak, she has helped our little Tessa so much! We had also carried our other dog…read moreChloe there since we moved to Lynchburg about four and a half years ago. We lost our Chloe in January, she was 16 years old. We have also seen other vets there thru the years and have always had a positive experience.

I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with this vet and will never return…read more I brought in my 11-year-old husky after he started having trouble with his leg. I was told he had a completely torn ACL and needed a very expensive surgery. This was alarming enough, but things quickly went downhill from there. I wanted a second opinion, which any responsible pet owner should be able to get without resistance, yet the clinic refused to send over his bloodwork and scans when requested. After a lot of back and forth, they finally sent the records--but unbelievably, they had scanned the wrong leg. This kind of error is completely unacceptable, especially when it leads to such a serious (and costly) diagnosis. It makes me question the accuracy of everything they told me. To make matters worse, they refused to offer any refund or even a credit despite their mistake and the stress they caused. Between the misdiagnosis, poor communication, and lack of accountability, I have zero confidence in their care. I strongly recommend others seek veterinary services elsewhere. *Go to Diamond Hill where they have empathy and compassion. *

We've used Lynchburg Animal Emergency & Critical Care several times over the past few years and…read morecouldn't rate them any higher. We drive from Lexington even though there are emergency vets a bit closer. The last visit was when we recovered our male whippet Jaime, who had been lost in the woods for 11 days. He was covered in ticks, had lost ten pounds, and had several bite wounds. Dr. Tubman sewed him up, got rid of the ticks, and put him on doxycycline to prevent Lyme disease. Another time we had to rush our whippet Scout in when she collapsed in the yard. We had Dr. Tubman that time too. She opened Scout up, but unfortunately she had hemangiosarcoma and the tumor had burst. It was simply devastating, but Dr. Tubman handled the euthanasia with such kindness and compassion. Every time we have had to go there, the staff has been wonderful and doctors are exceptional. I give them the highest recommendation!

The tech who checked us in was fabulous but the vet was not. She showed zero concern and after getting our dog's bloodwork results, she walked into the room, stated that her kidney values were off the chart and stared at us like we were supposed to tell her what the next step was. When I asked what they wanted to do, she then told me their recommendation. My dog ended up staying the night for fluids/treatment. We returned today after a call from Dr. Tubman, a different vet from the night before. We discussed our pups situation and decided to let her go peacefully. Dr. Tubman was thorough, kind, compassionate and a total difference from the vet the night before. Dr. Tubman was top tier, but the vet the night before (whose name I cannot remember - surname started with an S) had the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. I wish Lynchburg had more 24/7 options for veterinary care.

Lake Forest Animal Hospital staff are Hero's!!!!!!!!…read more Dr. Holly and Lake Forest Animal Hospital helped saved our 13 year old elderly family dog's life. They treat is like FAMILY. They were completely BOOKED but MADE ROOM for our dog to be seen very last minute. We had already been provided vet that told us to just give him chicken breast! They didn't help treat the issue or help with pain medication or nutrients. If Lake Forest hadnt worked him in, he would have been suffering and in pain! He would not have overcome without their help! I love this vet as they are very knowledgeabl, skilled, and understanding. They do not over charge by running a lot of tests. They know specifically what to do to treat the root cause issue. Thank you Susanne who answers the phones and helped get our dog in, Dr. Holly, and staff!! You are HERO's!!! Thank you for making a difference!!!!!! Had to leave another five star review! I attached a photo of our eldely Maltipoo that they treated and helped save! I was scared we wouldn't get another Christmas with him but looks like we will get another one thanks to Lake Forest Animal Hospital! This photo was Christmas last year!

I am so livid!! We just picked up our baby from 4 days of boarding. This was our second time…read moreboarding here but first time this long. Our pups towel that he sleeps with still smells like laundry deterrent (it obviously wasn't given to him), his dry food, wet food and treats were still in the bag we dropped off. We left specific feeding instructions and obviously not followed as he should have nothing left over after 4 days. We even called to check on him yesterday and asked if he was doing well, eating well. We were reassured that he was. We picked him up at 2:30 this afternoon and charged for another full day because "it was after 1PM". We were told we had to pick up by 5:00PM, no mention of extra charge if after 1PM. Zero stars... never again!
