Very good food. Just be careful when ordering from online - several applications have a a different price. For some reason when I went to order online, Google took my order and I was charged three dollars more for the order. Ya' know in some neighborhoods these places are poppin' up on every street corner like liquor stores. So. I'm choicey. The place is clean and appears to be well ran. The restaurant seating is comfortable and I would definitely eat in with no hesitation. They have a few tv's its pretty nice for a carry and go spot. I had the quarter white meat, cilantro white rice with pinto beans, and the mixed vegetables. The sides were great veggies already buttered with a little salt, I didn't have to add a thing. The pinto beans and rice were good, no meat added to the pinto beans for you vegetarians or Meatless Monday Enthusiast. The chicken itself was just average in flavor and in juiciness. Maybe because it was Monday, but my chicken looked a little lonesome and neglected. After seeing the reviews, it appears that their more popular dishes aren't even the chicken; but that kinda sucks when your name is Peru's Chicken. I will try back again to maybe do the lamb chops, but with so many of these places to choose from, the chicken could get a whole lot better. Now the good thing is people in this area have a few more options and do not have to just settle for just fast food. Hopefully there's more to come! read more

Solid 4 stars.. BUT.. Like one of my fellow yelpers claimed, Sardi's is still king. Peru's chicken was seasoned well but slightly dry. We got the white rice with black beans, which was tasty and different, cause the rice was cooked/prepared with pieces of chopped cilantro. The plantains were greasy, but ripe and fresh. The green sauce comes in very small containers, but packs big kick in spice and flavor. Bottomline: if you're in the area, try this place!!...but keep in mind that Sardi's is tough act to follow. read more

I've only been one time and went right after they opened and the food was good. You can smell the grill as you are in the parking lot (that's a good thing lol). Most Peruvian places I get the half chicken but this time I decided to get the steak (Lomo Saltado). There's plenty of seating inside and the people are very friendly. I'm starting to worry that one of my favorite places to eat has fallen off. Our dining options are always so limited in this area to start. Let me explain. I LOVED the food here. The service is what it is, efficient. Never rude but not warm either. I can accept that. However, back to the food. The past few times I've ordered I've had a problem. While I eat their chicken and sides occasionally- they too are very good; I come here for the lamb chops and occasionally the short ribs. I like the way it's prepared -they're own unique way. The last two orders of lamb chops in addition to being smaller, were undercooked or overcooked- by a lot and I only like mine just beyond medium. I put them in the air fryer the time they were undercooked and they were perfect. I tossed them to my dog the day the were over cooked. However, My short ribs almost made me cry y'all. They're usually relatively thick whole pieces cut lengthwise across the ribs and superbly tender. What I got last time were thin broken pieces of slightly chewy meat and a lot of bone. My man looked at me and sighed- knowing I was upset and he would be sharing his food. My sides are always good and I've even grown to appreciate the flavor contrast of a little char on my plantains. My rice and beans and green beans are always plentiful and have saved the meal when necessary but I don't spend approx $25 a plate for sides. Two of these occasions I ordered through door dash. So understand my frustration when I say my meal gets much more expensive- only to be disappointed. I give chances because every person and place has bad days but, it's starting to add up to expensive but unsatisfying meals- on my end. I will go back to picking up my orders myself so that I can at least eliminate those variables. However- I am genuinely hoping they were just bad days. I've had enough good experiences to give them another try but I too appreciate getting my moneys value. read more

We had a really good lunch here on Easter Sunday. The rotisserie chicken was super good and the green beans were excellent. The fries and chicken kabob also got really good reviews from my kids. I noticed this place when getting food from another place in Mitchellville plaza. I was really hoping that it would be better than the other Peruvian food spots we have in this area. The restaurant is very clean. Plenty of seating and space for customers to sit and eat. We got our good to go, and waited for about 20 minutes. I thought it would be longer because of what ordered. I decided to get something other than chicken. I had the lamb chops with black beans/cilantro rice and green beans. The sides were good. No better or worse than the others. But the lamb chops were AMAZING!! Tender and perfectly cooked. They also have those amazing sauces to compliment your meals. I gotta say, their Mild sauce is the best I've had at another other Peruvian restaurant. My girlfriend got the chicken and shrimp fajitas. She loved it. She didn't even have leftovers!! Pretty tasty. They have similar items to Sardis but a different flair. If you don't like the exorbitant flavor of Sardi's but still would like to eat some Peruvian style food, then this is your place. It's really all about preference and how much seasoning you like on your chicken. The inside of the restaurant is nice. I ate inside which I rarely do at these types of spots. But I enjoyed myself; I ate and watched TV. Definitely more quiet than Sardis which is a plus when dining in. read more

So here's the thing.... Peru's chicken is decent. I went in thinking it was going to be like Sardi's but it isn't. I ordered 1/4 chicken white meat with white rice and green beans. The green beans were pretty good but they weren't really "healthy" ... staff was pretty friendly and patient as it was my first time in their establishment. Will I go back? - yes. I went to Peru's Chicken recently for lunch with a co-worker. I had noticed this business before but had never ventured inside. I ordered the shrimp burrito, which included a generous amount of shrimp plus rice and black beans. Fries came with the burrito. I like that the burrito was cut in half, because I had to eat the other half for dinner. It was that BIG--and delicioius. My co-worker ordered the fish tacos, which came with nuggets of fried tilapia, shredded cabbage and other veggies, plus slices of fresh avocado. It was a lovely presentation. I went back the next day and ordered the fish tacos, which my coworker had ordered the day before. Noticeably absent were the slices of fresh avocado, which I specifically ordered (they provide a choice of sliced avocado or a sauce). I was disappointed (hence 4 stars instead of 5). I will continue to go to Peru's Chicken, but I'll be more vocal anything missing the next time. read more
