Picked up lunch from here today. Walking in the restaurant was neat and clean. Customer service was great I actually ended up having to order over the phone because the online ordering system was not working however when I ordered online that the young lady who answered was very friendly very patient got the order correct. When I got to the restaurant she read the order back to me it took about 10 minutes maybe to get it together so I would say the whole order took 20 minutes to get together because I had to leave my building and go down and pick it up so it was just a few minutes of wait time. Everything was made correctly everything was hot and fresh. The owner was there standing off to the side just observing she was really nice very friendly but definitely return again for lunch every time we've eaten here never had a problem definitely try it out if you like Peruvian chicken.

Great food and extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend! My daughter had the salad with shrimp and ate the entire plate which could have easily feed three people. She had roughly 10 or more shrimp on two skewers and the tres leches cake was perfect.

Wow this place hit the spot, I ordered the steak and chicken with a side of coleslaw. It really hit the spot I am from out town and was hesitant to come here. it's now my favorite when I come back to area

Came here on Thursday afternoon. Looks small, but it's pretty nice inside even though it is small. Still, the food was good. The ambience was very chill and relaxed. I'd come back the picture. Does the food justice!!

Wow, what a fantastic surprise! We we're hungry and looking for a place and this was close by. It's a modest place with a walk up order counter and a basic dining area. But the food! It was as good as any high end restaurant, served on beautiful plates. We had the steak, chicken and shrimp mixed grill and the Cesar salad with salmon. Both were fantastic! The salmon had great flavor and was perfectly cooked. The salad was fresh and the Cesar dressing was great. But even better, was the sauces that they put with it. One spicy, one tart, both excellent. The mixed grill was well seasoned and also cooked perfectly. And on top of that, the black beans were so delicious. I love it when I'm surprised by good food and this place blew me away. Super friendly staff too. Great

Visited this place on my way home! There is a huge parking lot, easy to get parked. Service was a little rude and lacked of information, since it was my first time here, I needed to ask some questions about the menu (normal), when I did the lady looked a little annoyed, music was loud (maybe is their style, is ok) and the table I got sitter was loose, hard to keep it stable. The food: Food was 6/10 (maybe because the service?) people used to say, if the service is bad, it would be translated to the food, service with attitude equal to a bad experience and some how the food would be tasteless. I had a whole chicken with sides, fried rice and fried plantains. (The fried rice was pretty much plain and plantains were hard.) The experience: before I go in, I checked in here on Yelp, and Yelp offered me a bottle of water from this restaurant (Elite Yelpers know what it is), so, I walked to the counter and asked for the menu the lady at the counter look at me and said, "is behind you" I looked back and I saw a huge menu on the wall, (there were more people behind me, so, I have to pick quickly) so I picked the whole chicken on the menu with two sides plus a drink, like a combo, I was clear with the chicken and the drink, but not with the sides, so, I asked where the sides are? She replied "here, you not see them?" Honestly I hadn't seen them until she pointed, ok, cool. Then I showed her my Yelp offer (a bottle of water) and she said "nop, that not apply here, is just for to go orders." Ok, forget it about it, I would like to eat here, I replied, then she handle everything to go, and no, the bottle of water wasn't there. (Can't blame them, for me is just a bad training) I didn't need the bottle of water at all, but the way they handled is what I don't take it. How to order: You go in and order at the counter, there's no servers service, after you finish your food, you clean your table (common cleaning) and go. If I recommend it? Absolutely, I would definitely order again from here, but most to go and different items from the menu, then you just go in, pick up your food and leave you don't have to interact much with the staff. I don't think one experience is enough to quit or discard a place, plus the food is pretty much affordable.

    Horrible food and customer service!

Horrible food and customer service! Rice and beans are literally tasteless..plantains thick and undercooked...fries no seasoning...fried rice mushy!!! Tried to charge me extra for white and green sauce even though two of each are supposed to come with the meal! Never eating here again!

The food was really good I had 1/4 dark meat it was a little too salty and the yuca fries were sometimes dry but still good. Also the lady behind the counter was really patient and kind when my grandma was trying to order something to go. She took time trying to communicate with her and stuff The eating area was clean as well and just overall good vibes lolz. Yayyyyy

Linguine a la Huancaína with Shrimp Saltado

Maryland finna lock down again, and I'm not surprised nor mad. With takeout options like this, who needs dine-in? Pollo Cabana has the typical delicious Peruvian rotisserie chicken concepts, but this time I opted to try something a little different. The Italian fused menu is a MUST TRY. The Linguine a la Huancaína with Shrimp Saltado was delicious. The yellow sauce (huancaína) isn't like anything I've ever tasted before-- it's creamy and spicy and freaking delicious. The brown sauce the shrimp was in had a hint of sweetness to it. Them two flavors together.... chile listen.

The Whole Chicken Only (close up!!!)

Very few casual culinary fans may remember that Austrian Chef extraordinaire Wolfgang Puck voiced Chef Smurf in the 2011 movie The Smurfs, headlined by Hank Azaria (Gargamel) and Katy Perry (Smurfette). But what if, seeking to entrap the joyous blue horde, including the sultry Smurfette, Gargamel learned that Smurfs secretly salivated over charbroiled Peruvian chicken. He would undoubtedly swing by Pollo Cabana on Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, Maryland, and, leaving his mischievous cat Azrael in the car, place the following order: 1 whole Peruvian chicken (enough to feed the entire Smurf cast of Lysistrata, including the Smurf chorus), 1 charbroiled Camarones (with two skewers of shrimp), and three Grilled Shrimp and Salmon combos, all with double fried rice. Why the grilled salmon and shrimp combos, you ask? Gargamel and Azrael's track record snatching and holding onto Smurfs is pretty poor, after all.

I walk in and to my surprise I did not expect for Chef Lou himself to be standing there to wait on me?! It's kind of like going to Wendy's only to be greeted by the little red head girl with freckles?! (Don't know why I get such a kick out of stuff like that). The bakery (no lie) is about the size of a handicap bathroom stall and is designed for pick up orders only. Chef Lou was very pleasant and talkative. We hit it off immediately. He gave me a complimentary mini sweet potato cake with cream cheese icing. While in the car I took a bite, then another. I could taste hints of orange and lemon, the cake was moist and very firm. The cream cheese frosting was made by scratch. I was impressed, this bakery does not cut corners when it comes to ingredients. Chef Lou also specializes in catering international cuisine such as Mediterranean, Indian, and Caribbean. His cakes are amazing; you can taste the love put into them! The strawberry shortcake was so dainty and the strawberries were fresh. My mom and all her church lady friends were tickled pink! Chef Lou is now my resident baker, I will no longer drive into the city to buy a fancy designer cake, now knowing that I have a gem right here in my own community!

However, I was able to finally make it this time around, about half an hour before closing time to see what they had to offer. Chef Lou Parker has been a chef for about 30 years and had this location for about 14 years. He is a really nice guy, and we had a great conversation in regards to the desserts and catering services he offers as well as him trying to offer a 'personal chef/intimate cooking classes' for those who are interested. He apparently caters to the World Bank, NASA, as well as conventions down at the Verizon Center, so I thought that was pretty impressive (he stated that his specialty is 'oriental' food, so I thought that was kind of funny). The place itself is small, so it's only a carry-out or where you call in to get your orders in. He offers pastries (cinnamon rolls, brownies, canollis, eclairs, etc.), pies (lemon, raspberry, French apple, sweet potato, etc.), fruit tarts, cakes, sheet cakes, and ice cream. They had some limited dessert selections, and I did ask if the goods were baked fresh daily (the answer was no, but he did state that they were still fresh) and which desserts were the most popular - Chef Lou stated that pretty much everything in the case, so we got one of each! They were all 'individual-sized:' sweet potato pie, strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, a brownie, a cinnamon roll, a chocolate cupcake, a chocolate-glazed doughnut with sprinkles, and a square bread pudding. My favorite out of them all was the strawberry shortcake, as the shortcake itself wasn't overly sweet and was fluffy, while the macerated strawberries was delicious and a great complement. The others were forgettable, as they were a little stale/too dry/a bit flavorless for my taste. It seems as if this is a favorite local place for grabbing some bargain desserts, for catering services, as well as cake orders for events. I'm glad I was finally able to try this place out! +strawberry shortcake

First, their location is very inconvenient unless you are on foot, which may be great for U of MD students, but if you are in a car, its a disaster when it comes to parking. This business even has a sign saying ask about a parking pass and they are not responsible if your car is towed. This alone makes this place already super unattractive. I fought my instincts and gave this place a try, but honestly, felt like I wasted $12. They have a digital kiosk where you can order your drinks and I chose a HK style milk tea (hot) with less sugar and also a jasmine milk tea with boba. The ordering for the jasmine tea was weird because it has an option to choose $1 extra for boba but if you scroll a little further down, you can get boba, no extra charge. I thought that was a bit sneaky, which I didn't appreciate. I waited about 15 min and then my order was ready. The HK style milk tea was supposed to be in a glass container but I only saw the sign after I ordered that they didnt have glass containers. That really sucked. The other issue is that when my HK style milk tea (hot) was ready, it was barely warm, which also was disappointing as it was a bit cool outside and I wanted something hot to warm me up. The HK milk tea also wasn't that great either, nothing special. I've had HK milk teas for about $2 elsewhere and they were great, but this was overpriced and lukewarm. I wont be ordering this again. The other drink seemed OK as I ordered it for someone else. I also thought this place was kind of dirty and could have been more clean. Not sure why the windows looked so dirty. I found the place kind of gross and it just didnt feel as clean as I like businesses to be. Overall, a pretty underwhelming experience. You get one chance to make a good impression especially when there are so many boba options available. I definitely wont be coming back here again.
