This is like a chipotle for Korean food. I really liked it!! Would come back. I came here after tennis at JTCC with a couple of people and we enjoyed our time here. Food: four bases to choose from (japchae, white rice, purple rice, salad), and several proteins to pick from. You can have as much veggies and toppings, and up to 2 sauces. The bowl is really filling and satisfying :) Service: it's like Chipotle - not going to be big on the service but the person who helps put the bowl together is friendly. Ambiance: It's a cute casual place. Parking: street parking, paid.

Came here on a very cold day. Thankfully there was parking not too far away, but you do have to pay. Originally, my partner and I were trying to get something else in the area, but the hour plus line was not worth the wait (on Pi Day... can you guess where in College Park?) We bumped into SEOULSPICE, and we were super glad that we did! It was definitely the vibe we were looking for that evening: warm, filling, and tasty food with a *quieter* surrounding (the other place was loud and jam packed with people. No thank you!) The service was good: I don't remember her name, but our server was patient and explained things on the menu that I was unfamiliar with. She also was a hard worker, seeing that she looked to be the only staff member there. There are gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options, and I'm grateful for the gluten free options. My partner got a spicy chicken BYO with japchae, and I got a bulgogi BYO with purple rice. The spicy chicken with japchae was a nice combo. Though the purple rice was interesting, I would rather my short-grain white rice with bulgogi, but I'm glad I tried it! The purple rice has a grainy, nutty taste to it, and with a sweet and salty flavor next to it, the flavors complement and compete if that makes sense. The proteins were super flavorful. My one lesson for next time would be to not add all the veggies out of convenience and actually pick and choose the veggies that I actually liked (let's just say I'm not a fan of kale in my Korean food, but I did that to myself lol) Overall, if you have a craving of tasty, umami bites and don't want to spend to much time, energy, or money on a meal, this is a good spot to go to!

Love this place! Everything is fresh and they never disappoint! Parking is scarce. I always get my bowl customized to my craving, Lol. Nevertheless, I'm always satisfied.

I went here with a friend who only eats gluten-free. I think it's ideal as it is naturally gluten-free, nothing needs to be substituted. She thought it was excellent.  It is excellent fast-casual food. As other reviewers mentioned, it's a similar model/setup as Chipotle. The service is fast and the employees are happy to answer questions.  I loved the spicy pork and the ginger carrot sauce. The Kimchi is also good. I loved the bowl I got. Also, the egg was a very worthwhile addition and added a lot to the bowl. Also, the lime yuzu drink was delicious and very refreshing. I love that they put a lime piece in the drink. Lastly, they gave gluten-free cookies at the counter. We got the chocolate chip one and it was solid.  The portions are great and this bowl is enough for at least a meal and a half.  I will definitely be going back here.

Seoul Train with bulgogi and the EGG!

Oooh, you must get the "EGG." No matter what you order, add the EGG to it! It is a sweet soy marinated braised egg. This means the egg is not completely hard boiled or runny but has a soft creamy yolk. It goes great with a rice bowl or a salad. Just yummy. I ordered the bulgogi seoul train with the salad as a base. The only other item that I added to my order was the EGG. It was a good portion of bulgogi and I enjoyed all the ingredients. Great food!

BAYBEE! Let. Me. Tell. You. This was really, really good. This place kept popping up on my Yelp feed, so I finally went to try it. I had never heard of it, but I checked the menu out and figured I would like it. Well, I LOVED it. I got a beef bulgolgi and white rice bowl with cucumber, carrots, corn, and kale. I topped it off with the creamy sriracha sauce. The vegetables were fresh, and the meat was tender. Everything came together so well. I really can't wait to get back!

This could be described as a korean chipotle. I had the custom rice bowl and it had amazing flavors! There wasn't as much chicken as I was hoping for, but I would still definitely get this again. The mobile ordering was convenient and the food was warm and ready at pick up!

It's funny how I come across places to review. This spot showed up while I was researching ANOTHER spot!! The aesthetics of their food caught my attention...I had to go!! We ordered one portion of the rice and one portion of noodles. To be put in simple words it's like Korean chipotle with multiple meat options, sides and sauces that you can add. The portions were very good for the prices. Out of the both, the noodles were on the top. The chicken was very tender. Out of the sauce, ginger carrot is only favorite. Wish they had some appetizers like Korean fries chicken. But overall the food is excellent and highly recommend it.

    KORRITO with tofu
    dan g.

Fast casual very vegan friendly proto chain. Yummy fresh food that I'll definitely go back for. Tons of vegan choices and gluten free to boot. I chose the Korrito with purple rice and tofu and all the veg and toppings. It was really good. It's essentially a giant hand roll burrito with seaweed instead of tortilla. The bowls looked good, too.

I came here after working out the gym with my cousin. We were craving ANYTHING and we both agreed to try out Seoul Spice. This place really hit the spot. It's the same format as Chipotle so ordering was easy. The chicken wasn't dry and the workers were able to answer all of our questions regarding our order (which sauces are your favorite, what do you recommend, etc.) It was hot when it was given to us and the noodles were still bouncy even after walking 15 minutes away to eat it. It's really filling too! I was only able to finish half before I got full. Not only that, it only costed around $13. Well worth it for its price!

Mixed greens, purple rice, bulgogi, bean sprouts, corn, cilantro, cucumber, korean spicy sauce
    Ann R.

I love this little place in college park. It's such a great idea to combine the style of Chipotle and korean food. I always mix the greens and rice as my base so I'm not eating too much rice. Their bulgogi has some good flavor in it. They ran out when I went there, but I only had to wait 5 minutes or to get a fresh batch and it was worth the wait! The korean spicy sauce was the perfect amount of heat for me. It's definitely comparable to the sauces you find in korean food (like bibimbap sauce) - not mild, but not crazy spicy. It's not the cheapest thing to get in the area, but honestly I think it's well worth it.

Build your own bowl with jap chae (noodles)
    Jessica L.

I love it here! Every time I go visit my cousin, I will be popping in here for my meal. It's like a Chipotle for Korean food, and their jap chae (noodles) is so yummy! I got the chicken & bulgogi, because the tofu looked a little wet (which grossed me out), but it still tasted good. The chicken was okay (keep in mind I'm a flexitarian, so I'm picky about meat) and the bulgogi was good. Next time I will definitely be getting the tofu.

I had high hopes since the menu includes intestines and other items that clearly are not meant for white customers. I am very happy to have a very tasty Chinese restaurant close to me. Dry pork noodles: These were the best IMO. Nice and spicy, with great flavors all around. I suggest getting the pork chop (add on) since there is not a lot of meat that comes with the dish normally. Beef noodle soup: Tasted very authentic and had a great broth. Thin slices of beef reminded me of real Chinese noodle soups. Spicy dry chicken noodles; Very similar to the pork noodles. What I really enjoy is that these are actually spicy dishes! I never had to add chili sauce!! Pork and chive dumplings: These were solid. The sesame dipping sauce is fine, but a mixture of Chinese vinegar (you rarely find this!) and chili sauce are good compliments. Cucumbers: These were more garlic-y then what I had in China, but are still good. Adding a little Chinese vinegar to them really takes them up a notch.

For those of us familiar with traditional ethnic Chinese food, a menu written in Chinese is a good sign. They have traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food like scallion pancakes, sesame balls, beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, etc... Very good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan dishes.. - Quality. Pretty good. Their scallion pancake was soft, not too oily, and not too salty. I prefer the scallion pancake to have been a bit more thick and flaky, but that's my personal preference. To be fair, still delicious. Their chive and pork dumplings definitely had a delicious chive flavor. Substantial and the wrapper was not too thick. Their spicy sesame paste tofu had a good flavor and substantive. The chili oil wontons were not too spicy and had a good flavor. Again, my personal preference would have been for the dumplings to have been more substantive, but still pretty decent. - Service. Pretty good. It appears most, if not all their staffers, speak Chinese (Mandarin), which was also helpful, because I specifically ordered in Chinese. I asked them about the spice level, because I wanted to ensure it would not be too spicy for my friend. - Price. Pretty good value for menu and portions. - Location. It's pretty easy to find. Also within convenient walking distance to the Silver Spring metro. The inside space is pretty good. Tables can seat a minimum of 2, all the way up to 8. What's Not - Quality. The sesame balls are smaller than I expected. They're the rough approximation of a ping pong ball, maybe smaller. I was disappointed, because I like sesame balls that are substantial. - Service. I specifically asked for soup spoons, because we were eating dumplings. Instead, they gave me regular spoons. Not all the dishes come out in the order you hope. For example, main dishes may come out before the appetizers. This is going to be dependent on your personal preference. - Parking. There is parking near the restaurant, but it's going to be dependent on the day and time. Final Answer Worth coming back.
