    Crab & Corn Chowder

This is a Classic 50's/60's/70's era Diner located within multiple franchises around the Washington, DC area (also known as DMV: Delaware-Maryland-Virginia)! An experience one should not miss as the menu choices are varied of standard diner dishes with the 24hr flexibility of breakfast served too! Enjoyed a plentiful chicken pot pie classic entree which included a choice of one: soup, chilli, side mixed green or caesar salad. I chose a cup of crab and corn soup while my companion chose the chicken noodle soup. Both were served at a perfect temp and flavorful. Unfortunately, I was completely filled and could not even try nor attempt any of their freshly made and decadent homemade desserts. Don't miss this special eatery and be prepared to enjoy jukebox Jackson 5, Motown, Smokey Robinson as well as early Beatles, Bob Segar, Eagles during your dining therefore leaving you with a full stomach and a smile as you depart.

I frequent here to grab breakfast/brunch since it's very close. This location and diner has the best pancakes and I come back every time to eat them. First time sitting at the bar but had a great experience. I can't wait to go back for more pancakes.

We recently tried Silver Diner at BWI, and only a few weeks ago realized there was one not too far from our house so we decided to go for an early dinner. Our server was lovely, and the food was so good! We shared the crispy Brussels sprouts, I got a peach soda and my boyfriend got a creamsicle, and then for dinner I got the Philly cheese steak and he got the fish and chips. Our favorite was the Brussels sprouts- they were crispy, and had such a good sauce (that wasn't spicy thank goodness). We both loved our sodas. My cheese steak was really good, but in my opinion far too many onions so next time I'd ask for light onion. He really enjoyed the fish and chips as well, but noted the batter for the fish wasn't the traditional light and fluffy batter. It was different- but good! Also to note- the portion sizes are huge! You'll definitely leave stuffed. We look forward to returning in the near future. I'm glad it's nearby!

Service and food were both good! The strawberry was FABBBBBBBB.. omg sooooooooo good!!!! Yum yum yum the fries were good too. I think we paid about $220 with tip for 6 adults and 4 kids. Ambience is pretty chill and laidback.

The new mimosa flight is pretty great. This is our go to diner because the food is always fresh, different varieties and love the shakes and desserts! Service is good. Used to be able to play the jukebox on tabletops but not anymore. Overall a great diner

Breakfast selection was good the waitress Bre was fantastic!!!. Some of the food items were overcooked but we left satisfied. Classic diner items.

I decided to stop in for breakfast because the sliver diner always has some really great breakfast options. This place also is a wonderful vibe too me not sure why. I decided on the Philly omelet and it was absolutely outstanding. I normally get Huevos rancheros with bison but didn't see it on the menu at this location but overall I have a really great breakfast with A 1 customer service.

I am writing this review after being a regular for a few years. I have had many a fun times at Silver Diner. The service there was always great. The ambiance was retro that will take you back in time. You have your own little jukebox right on your table. The booths were comfy. During my many visits to Silver Diner, I sampled many items off of their menu. Some of my favorites include: chicken pot pie, chicken lemon picatta, pickle-brined fried chicken sandwich, and their milkshakes, just to name a few. All in all, I highly recommend this establishment.

Food was ok today. I placed my order online and the pickup time said 12:01. I arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before my pickup time and my food was already sitting waiting for me- which was good. I checked my food out before I left due to having issues here before, everything seemed to be ok. I get home which is less than 5 minutes away, and my food was cold. It wasn't even like warm. It seemed as if it had been sitting h too long and my food lost its quality. Also, I had no plasticware and only 1 syrup but 5 or 6 packs of ketchup. I really keep giving this spot chance after chance but it's always something.

Chris was a wonderful server, and very attentive. Had a wonderful visit at this Silver Diner location. The burger was phenomenal! Great service, great food!

Who's keeping this place open still? The portions are trash for your buck AND there is No love put into ANYTHING (food) at this place. Fire the chef at this point or hire my toddler. I ordered a total of 3 times thinking maybe it was an off day because we all have those and every time the food was HORRIBLE. I got a salad the last go round thinking how can they mess up a salad??!?!? and THEY DID!!! LOL. That's bacon by the way :(. DO Better!

Decent service and the food was good. Loved the old school diner look and feel. I ordered the Country-fries steak & eggs and a cup of coffee. The steak & eggs was two generous pieces of breaded steak, with sausage gravy, cage-free Amish eggs, home fries, and a buttermilk biscuit. I had my eggs over medium. Only complaint is they ran out of biscuits and it took about 15-20 mins. I had asked for a little gravy when they brought it out so I would not have to eat it alone but they didn't and I ate it alone with butter. I did get a cup of coffee to go which was nice.

She was a ray of sunshine and gave us help in deciding on menu items. We both ordered salads. I ordered the crab and shrimp Louis salad. And, my friend ordered a chicken salad. Our salads were huge, fresh, and delicious. I really liked the fresh veggies and poached shrimp. I also liked the surprise sprinkle of Old Bay on my seafood. I wasn't a fan of the crabmeat. The dressing was delicious too. My friend liked her chicken salad. She did say her chicken was a little dry. But, she loved all of the fresh veggies and ended up taking the leftovers home. I also ordered the Oreo cheesecake which was delicious. I mean come on now, you combine Oreo's and cheesecake, that is a winning combination and the whipped cream was amazing. The restaurant itself was bright, colorful, and full of sea themed decor. The booth was comfortable and you get 3 hours of free parking in the garage. Again, thanks Fatima for your excellent service. We will definitely be back.

They also offer a brunch buffet that has lots of options including a waffle station but I wasn't in the mood for that so maybe I'll check that out next time. The restaurant itself is nice, and spacious, the ambiance is a cool little vibe for a date or to bring your friends. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is because of the bartender. We sat at the bar and he just wasn't a friendly as I would have liked. Other than that the service was great, and the food came out quickly.

I wanted to eat outside, so I was looking for restaurants with patios. I was coming from Greenbelt…read moreand was on Georgia Avenue when Matchbox popped up as 1 of the suggested restaurants. I've been to other locations, so I decided to try this one as I've never been to this location before. Food- 3 Drink-4 Waitress-2 Ambience-5 Overall -3 Let's start with the food. At first I was disappointed when I saw they took off my favorite appetizer, so I ordered the Cripsy Calamari Appetizer instead. So as I am waiting my waitress had stopped by twice to ask me if I was ready to put in my entree and every-time I had to tell her no as I haven't even gotten my appetizer yet. This rubbed me the wrong, I felt like I was being rushed and that didn't make sense as this was on a Thursday at 1 pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Now the patio seating was lovely and I truly enjoyed basking in the sun while sipping on my Sauvignon Blanc, I have so many memories from DTS and it was nice to be in the area again. Anyways my Appetizer came and it was sooo good. I loved the fried jalapeños in the mix it really gave a nice kick to my Calamari. I decided to order the Shrimp Tempura Roll which is a new addition to the menu but whew this is where it went left. It was NOT good, drenched in sauce and fish eggs ... and the presentation of the roll looked sloppy and rushed especially considering one roll didn't even have Shrimp in it. There was barely any cucumber inside ... on top of all that they still gave me side dippings too... I ate 1 roll and it was nasty and too much. When I told my waitress I didn't like it and explained why she just said ok and walked away. It was very clear to me she did not care and so it's very clear to me that I won't be going there ever again.

The place seats a…read moregood amount of people, but some of the tables are admittedly closer than I would be comfortable with for vibe like this, haha. Luckily for us, we were right against the window and the only table there. Definitely appreciated the privacy! So it was a four course dinner -- a little over $100/pp. Each of the four courses had about multiple options, so my gf and I were intentional about getting different things so we could try each other's. I don't know where to start... We had some unexpected dinner rolls before the first course, and the way the butter with them was presented was beautiful -- look at that green swirl! And then I got the beets... I have to say I really love golden ones! And my gf got the ceviche... Loved the touch of passion fruit in there. Then I got the crab roe rice and tasted my gf's chawanmushi. Now, the third course... I think the sablefish was my favorite. Never had it before, and I loved the flavor! Loved the sweet potatoes and the curry. I loved the ricotta on my gf's duck tagliatelle -- that was a great dish too. The chocolate cake & toffee pudding were winners for dessert. And then we had these little surprise bites that reminded us of gourmet fruit leather. In between each course, plates and utensils were swapped, and the table was wiped down. When we would go to the bathroom, our napkins would be folded in the most elegant fashion (I should've taken a pic). This was definitely an elevated experience, and I think it's the coolest thing. I'm looking forward to having more outings like this... Oh did I mention I had a cocktail with tom yum?! What a unique experience. I gotta get my wallet right for more of this... By the way, I had just the right amount of food.

This was a bit disappointing as I expected a higher level of attention to details. The ambiance was more casual than expected, I even saw one of the diners wearing a baseball cap. The AC kept turning on and off throughout the entire meal, which was a bit uncomfortable. Whenever the AC was on, it would blast extremely cold air, then it would get warm when it turned off. The food, wine pairing, and service (Ginger was our server) were great except the chawanmushi, which I thought the dashi flavor overpowered the delicate taste of the egg, uni, and scallop. All in all, a pretty solid spot and I look forward to coming back.
