Nice little spot inside of the Marriott. Stayed at this location for a week and sometimes after a busy day it's just easier to eat at the hotel especially when it has a spot like this with delicious food. I only took 1 star away because it's super overpriced but expected for a hotel restaurant. As for this restaurant I stopped in to eat and also for takeout. Each time got a drink or two at the bar. Shout out to Antonio who worked the bar most of the nights I was there. He was super charming and very attentive. Most of the staff there when I was there were younger individuals who were not only entertaining with great conversation but they were also on it when it came to the service. They all made it a great place to unwind. I took a few pics the one I didn't take was of their honey old bay wings .. all the food was great including those. If staying here .. check them out. They are a little expensive but super convenient for good food.

Had THE BEST breakfast AGAIN today with my cousin at my FAVE place- The Common! Not only is the food delicious but it's so beautifully presented. The service is great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A great Bay Ridge breakfast & lunch place!

Warning... make sure you have ample time to eat here because this is some of the worst slowest service in history. They are in vacation mode in here I guess. Between ordering drinks, dinner, asking for check. The waitress took her sweet ole time. The food wasn't bad though. The crab dip had good flavor and had a good amount of crab in it. The wings were not my favorite of all time but by no means were they bad. They had a good crunch to them and a slight bit of heat. I ordered the burger as my main meal. The burger was slightly overcooked and a little too bready. Burgers are simple but the proportions have to be right. In the end I would definitely not recommend. Food was ok but service was bad and I RARELY complain about the service. They are located in a busy hotel so probably have gotten accustomed to having a crowd no matter how good the service is. In the end, I would go somewhere else next time.

Visited for breakfast during a government event. The food was satisfactory but the service was slow. I'll visit again only if I'm having a meeting there. Certainly wouldn't go out my way.

Gave us a tiny box for the sandwich I barely touched so had to dump the soggy burned fries into the bag. Fail.

Went there for the first time tonight and it was terrible. The draft beers aren't 16 ounces. The staff are extremely unprofessional and talk about customers in front of us. Complaining when a woman ordered a cocktail and he actually had to do something. Threw dishes and glassware into bussing tub. The line cook was about to smoke a cig when we put in the order and he seemed so blown that he had to go make it. Now comes the worst part: the food. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was awful. I think the grill marks were stamped on and it was microwaved. Gross. My husband had the fish and chips and the tartar sauce tasted like plain mayo. The fries were soggy and burned...tasted like they were sitting under heat lamps for hours. I ate 2 bites of my sandwich and the bartender never asked how the food was. I've been a server for 10 years and this is an awful restaurant. Enough said. Pass.

The avocado toast topped with a perfectly poached egg topped with Japanese black sesame seeds is my go-to order, and the sandwiches are consistently good. Their cocktails are excellent, and the bar side makes a great venue for private parties or larger gatherings. I am apparently in the miniscule minority, but I find the drip coffee a bit too dark and somehow slightly burnt for my taste. Fortunately, they make an outstanding Dirty London Fog and a wonderful London Fog Chai Latte, either of which I'd happily order instead. All manner of alternative "milks" are available as are a pretty decent selection of local beers in their cooler if you are grabbing take out. Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium. In my experience, though, solo diners are often gracious about moving to the communal table when they notice [or more likely are asked polietly if they wouldn't mind moving] a larger group waiting. It's just one more example of the friendly neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

My African American military family arrived at 11:00 a.m. sharp on Father's Day. I mention "military family" because I want to paint an accurate picture: we weren't a loud or unruly group. We were five adults, five well-behaved children, and two infants looking to enjoy brunch together. The restaurant was completely empty. Not "a few open tables" empty--completely empty. No one was even sitting at the bar. When we told the hostess we didn't have a reservation, she went to get a manager. What struck me immediately was how flustered he became the moment he saw our group. He came out red-faced, visibly agitated, and immediately launched into how they were completely booked and there was "no way" he could seat a party of 12. We even asked if we could split into two groups of six and were met with the same response: impossible. We stood there looking at an entirely empty restaurant while being told there was absolutely no way we could be accommodated. The whole interaction was honestly bizarre. Confused, we simply said "okay" and started walking away. As we were already down the sidewalk, a hostess came after us and explained that we could sit on the patio, which was first-come, first-served. We could order through a QR code and have food brought to us. That was completely fine with us. In fact, with children and infants, the patio was arguably a better option anyway. The truth is, by that point we stayed more out of convenience than anything else. Getting five children and two infants back into three separate vehicles and finding another restaurant felt like more of a hassle than it was worth. Looking back, I wish we had simply left. Which raises the obvious question: if the patio was available all along, why wasn't that the manager's response from the beginning? Why did he act as though seating us was impossible instead of simply saying, "Our indoor dining is reserved, but you're welcome to sit outside"? I do not make accusations of racism lightly. However, after reflecting on the experience, I cannot escape the conclusion that race played a role in how my family was treated. The manager's reaction upon seeing our group, his immediate insistence that there was "no way" to seat us despite an empty restaurant, and the fact that available seating existed all along created an experience that felt unmistakably exclusionary. The interaction nagged at me throughout the meal, especially when my children and nieces and nephews started asking, "Why didn't the restaurant want us to eat here? The place is empty?" That's not a conversation I expected to have with children on Father's Day. When we left about 90 minutes later, both the dining room and patio were still far from full. I counted 8 open tables inside and 5 open tables on the patio at 12:30. I understand reservations. I've dined all over the world. But Moreland's is not a Michelin-starred restaurant with a months-long waitlist. It's a neighborhood pub--closer to an upscale Applebee's than fine dining. Yet somehow my family was made to feel unwelcome from the moment we walked through the door. After years of being a customer, that is deeply disappointing.

Silver Branch's selection of foods and beers was just the type of place I was looking for, and as icing on the cake, that evening, a local pet adoption center was going to have some dogs outside you could meet and that hopefully some locals would adopt into a forever-home. Ordering food and drink from any of the many tables inside is super convenient. Each table has its own QR code that you can scan, to bring up their menu on your phone. Once an order is placed, the food and drink come out very quickly, and a running tab will be kept until you choose to close it. I enjoyed my stout (a can pour) with flavors of coconut and almond, and it paired nicely with my Southwest Salad. It wasn't obvious to me, as a first time customer, that you have to get your silverware and napkins from a station a elsewhere in the large room, but luckily, I had overheard someone else commenting on that before my food arrived. The only possible problem might be parking on busy nights. For example, on this night, a concert was going to start nearby; the dinner crowd was larger than usual, and more parking spots in the area were taken. Other than that, food and drink are very enjoyable here, and I'd certainly come back if I'm in the area again.

Upon entering, I was even more blown away by their elaborate and wild indoor murals, especially the dog & cat bathroom art, and the EPIC animal battle centerpiece! Since I came towards the end of their night after the Brewers pizza party at Andy's Pizza, I wasn't particularly hungry. But I did make note of their cheese counter, where you could purchase offerings like Midnight Moon, Willoughby, and Morbier by the plate or to go by the pound. They also had a good selection of handhelds, appetizers, dinner, and brunch offerings. However, the best thing might be that, during the unpredictable government shutdown, they had the option to pay a meal or a beer forward to a neighbor in need. I also managed to enjoy their Brussel sprouts that delivered a pleasant umami bomb with its sweet Thai chili sauce and crushed peanuts. For beers, they had a right and proper mix that went beyond the IPA overload, while also having good ones like their Big Tomorrow west coast IPA. Their flights came at a reasonable price and allowed me to enjoy offerings like their Haxan robust porter, Senate Maerzen Marzen Oktoberfest style ale, and Super Carina Italian Pilsner. Factor in all of the above and a good selection of brewery games and table spaces, and they had everything I look for in a solid brewery!
