The place is very well decorated and inviting at first sight. Our waitress was a sweetheart! We live in the neighborhood, so we were very excited to try a new peruvian restaurant so close to home, but the experience there was something else. We had the jalea and anticuchos for apps. They were delicious, but then we ordered our main course, and it was the start of a disappointing night. We ordered the currasco peruano, which was more fat than steak. The only thing saving that dish was the chimichurri sauce. We also had the beef estufado. The meat was dry and hard, which is the opposite of what a beef stew should be. Finally, we had the aji de gallina. The flavor was completely off. We immediately called the waitress over to let her know this dish was not good in flavor. Her response was "well I can box it for you to take home." Why would we take something home that no one liked and no one will eat. The plate was over 90 percent full, with only 3 tasting bites missing. We spoke with the Cuban owner, who was overly aggressive, and ignored our critique of the dish. We were a group of three, and we all agreed the aji de gallina was disgusting. The owner seemed more interested in having a fight and telling us how the customer was wrong instead of trying to find a solution. I assured him we would pay for the whole meal, except for the dish no one would eat. He continued to speak loudly and aggressively telling us that we were " wonderful ppl for trying to sink a small business" sorry but if you have that tone with your customers you are going to sink your own business. He also had the nerve of telling us that ppl complained about the food weekly. Sir, if you are getting many complaints about your food, don't you think you should try and listen, instead of forcing the customers to eat a horrible dish. Please look at the comments he has left to other low ranking star reviews and ask yourself if this is the type of business you would visit, it's clear that the owner doesn't care to hear his patrons concerns or comments. He would rather antagonize them. I am truly saddened by this experience since we love supporting local businesses. read more

Love this new addition to six corners! We had excellent service throughout our meal. Our group had four different dishes from chicken to steak which were all full of flavor and spices. Delicious! This is my new go-to restaurant. Felt like a piece from home. The costumer service was spot on and the food is to die for. They were quick to seat us and check back in various times. My husband and I came to the restaurant, got seated, ordered seafood, and as time passed guests started to arrive and within minutes they would receive their orders. About 45 minutes later no food, no waitress letting us know about our order. We asked ourselves: did we choose the right restaurant? and as we saw the servers bringing dishes over our direction, we were like "yes we're finally going to eat", to our surprise the food was not for us, and that's what made us leave the restaurant and write this negative review. How's it possible other guests that came after us were getting their appetizers and entrees first and we ordered seafood and everyone knows seafood it cooks faster? This place is terrific! We recently dined there for a friend's birthday. She had the huachinanga, a beautifully prepared red snapper with creamy garlic sauce on the side. It was served with a roasted potato, rice and salad. Other dishes we enjoyed were the cau cau - an African-Peruvian dish of tripe and potatoes served with garlic rice. It was very tasty; the tripe was meltingly delicious and the saucing was perfect. Another dish was a secco de carne: tender beef with the most incredible sauce of cilantro and garlic. We finished with a silken flan, one of the best we've ever had, and our companion had the guava turnover, which she loved. We absolutely recommend this place! Delicious! Beef hearts for our appetizer, rib eye for main course and the must try desert is the corn pudding with the rice pudding combo. They need to fix their wifi music as it kept going in and out. It would be better to have the tv off for ambiance. This is not a sports bar. The people who work here are very kind. She offered great background on each family-style dish she lovingly served to us. We were a large party and she listened carefully to every request and immediately served what was needed! She was fast, efficient, and very friendly. She wanted to do everything she could to ensure we were happy and enjoying our food and our evening!! She even introduced us to the owner and his wife and daughter and they were all charming and warm and welcoming!! The ambience is filled with Peruvian paintings by the owner's daughter.....it is a soothing and quaint environment!
