It was a crazy ride from start to finish applying for top MBA programs. It wouldn't have been possible without Scott's assistance. Coming from an engineering background, both undergraduate and career wise, I did not know anyone who went to a full time MBA program let alone a top MBA program. I decided to apply for MBA late in June, and to make the GMAT that I took 5 years ago count, I had to go for round 1, which left me with only 2-3 months to complete the whole thing. I talked to several friends who had MBA experience, and figured hiring a consultant would be very helpful in my case. I did not know where to start, so I googled. After visiting a few forums, I collected a few names, including both big names with a large team of consultants, as well as smaller shops like Personal MBA Coach. After completing several free consulting sessions, it was almost no brainer to go with Scott. The big firms are super good at marketing, followed up warmly with you, but at the end, you were just talking to sales guys. You don't even know who would end up being your consultant. With Scott, it was pretty simple, what you see is what you get. Do you want to get into a top MBA program? If so, you should work with Scott (Personal MBA Coach). I tried applying to schools on my own first. Despite an extremely high GMAT score and good work experience I only got two interviews, and I struck out at all 6 places I applied. I didn't even get waitlisted anywhere. For my second year of applications, I decided to get help. After talking to multiple consultants and feeling less than thrilled about their pitches (most were obviously just after my money) I talked to Scott. He was more engaged than anyone else, and most importantly he seemed to genuinely want to help me. Long story short, I ended up getting interviews at 4 of 5 places Scott helped me apply to. What Scott will do is relentlessly critique your essays. He will push you HARD to fully distill what you are trying to say, and he will pull no punches while doing it. If you are six drafts into your essay and it just isn't there, he will tell you that you need to start over. Applying in the cycle for matriculation in 2024 was a last minute decision for me. I was about 1.5 months out from my target schools' deadlines and I decided now was the time to apply for my MBA. I interviewed 6 or so of the "big boys" in the MBA consulting market and after conducting my interviews with each of them over the course of a few weeks, the obvious stars in the room were Scott and his team at Personal MBA Coach. Looking back on my MBA application journey, I can say with certainty that the best decision I made was to hire Personal MBA Coach. I was by no means an easy client. Many of them sounded great, but it was impossible to know who exactly I would actually be working with and what their track record for success had been in the past.
