BEWARE!!!! Perry's advertise that they match prices from other shop. Mark gave me a quote for two tires and assured me that the price would be matched. When I went down to have them put on Mark said "I didn't give you a quote, I just ordered your tires." COMPLETE LIE. SO I had to pay more, NO PRICE MATCHING like they advertise on the radio. Cashiers are professional and have great customer service. Bishop business owners ask local residents to shop locally but when the local shops rip you off, you don't want to support them and drive out of town or shop On-Line. It's too bad. read more

I called Monday 7/27/20 requesting an oil change on my 4runner. I spoke to Brett who informed me I could have an apt for 11:40am on 7/30/20. We agreed on this time. I showed up this morning on 7/30/20 & was informed by another person while Brett was sitting inside listening that I did not have an apt for 11:40 & that I must have made the apt online. I stated this was not true & that I talked to Brett. Who was still listening on the inside & I could visibly see but did not want to talk to me to explain the situation. This other guy then informed me my apt would be moved to 1 & it would be done by 2 because they go to lunch at noon & this has always been in place. I get that, people need to have their lunch break. But if this was the case, don't tell me to bring my car in at 11:40 for it just to sit there for an hour & 20 minutes until it can get worked on when I have taken time out of my day to drive down here from mammoth. My family has dealt with Perry Motors for the 56 years and I am very disappointed with there service!!! My family have bought at least 8 vehicles through the years. I made an appointment for a front end alignment on a Tuesday for 3pm on that following Friday because I had a 550 mile trip to take a friend to a doctors appointment on the following Monday, Perry Motors called at 1:55pm on Friday to remind me of my appointment at 3pm and I said yes I will be there. I pulled into the open door to the shop around 2:45 and an employee with no mask on (Covid19) and said you can't be in here. (I have done this for the 52 years that they have been in this building) ( there were no signs anywhere to say don't enter!!!] So I pulled out and parked in the back where I was told to park and came to the widow for the service. I filled out the paper work and came back to the window and told the guy I would be up front (Showroom) waiting for my car. My plan was to ask questions on a future new truck. The guy at the window said that they just took in another vehicle and mine probably wouldn't be done today!!! I said that I needed the car that day and he said sorry, but that wouldn't happen!!! I threw the pin and paperwork in his basket and left. I got home and called Perry Motors and talked to a guy that I have known for years in the service department and told him my story and he said that wasn't right and he would talk to the owner about this and to expect a call back from them. Well, it's been over 3 weeks and no call at all!!! I will now be buying a new truck this next year and it will not be at Perry Motors!!! Dick Perry Sr. Would not be happy with So, the story and the lies continues!!! Arron posted his generic post and said I could call him on this problem!! Right after he posted this he calls me. He proceeded to tell me what the Service guy told him and it was a totally different story than what happened!! I'm sure the service guy told the story this way so he wouldn't be in trouble!! Arron never said to me that he was sorry this happened, or what they could do to get this straitened out, but proceeded to tell me more lies!! He said that he was waiting for a call from me!! I had talked to Ronnie about this the day it happened and he said he would talk to Arron and I would hear back from them. I waited for three weeks and never heard back from anyone so I called Ronnie and he said Arron was notified right away of this and and he would take care of it. Right after I wrote my Yelp post , Arron called me. He proceeded to say that there front end machine was broken down that day!!! This is the first that I had heard of this because the story I got was they had taken another car in right before my appointment. Now remember, I was called an hour before my appointment and reminded of my appointment and I said yes, I would be there and I was at 15 minutes before my appointment!!! Then Arron proceeded to tell me that they told me that they would get my car in and it would be done that day!!!! Which is it Arron, is the machine broke down or is it working???? My Monday morning Experience: I took my Highlander in for service on the malfunctioning stereo. I asked if they could do the 24,000 mile check, too? YES! They finished quickly and came to get me. I was on the phone with a very important call. A little while later, they came to see if I'd been told my vehicle was ready and apologize if I hadn't. At the same time, my truck battery was dead. Service followed me home, checked my battery, gave me the bad news, gave me a boost, and followed me to the dealership. They replaced the battery and credited me for the remainder of the battery's promised life. I was driving the Highlander and discovered the Highlander's stereo's software update didn't take. I returned. Service immediately took the vehicle to fix the problem. And they did! Service was great! read more

My wife and I were going through Yosemite National Park up and down the mountains, when suddenly our 2005 Prius' Hybrid battery overheated. We panicked but were able to find Perry Motors not far away. We are from the East cost, Pennsylvania, and most dealerships around us could not care less about your problems, BUT NOT so at Perry Motors. One of their mechanics (I am really bad with names but I think he's name was Eric) met us minutes after we ask for help. We told him what had happened and that our A/C was not working and he diagnosed that we needed to cool off the battery by not driving it. We got a room for over night not far away and returned in the morning. He cleared all of our warning light and told us we were good to travel back to LA, some 300 miles, but to get the A/C repaired. I don't have any opinion to the dealership side, this is only regarding the auto shop. The customer service was less then satisfactory. Communication was terrible until I asked to speak to the mechanic directly, then I actually started to understand. And turns out the man that tried to tell me what was going on was actually the service manager... that's something to be said but I guess some of us aren't as smart as others.. Did not get done what I asked for but still had to pay for it like I did. When I asked to be refunded, the service manager said "I'm not giving you any money so I don't know what your trying to do here." Extremely rude and juvenile experience. I'm not sure why anyone would want to use this service department. Maybe it's only the locals that don't get hustled. I have filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. Hopefully, some of the poor reviews on Yelp will keep others away from them. Too bad there is not a way to give a zero-star review. The height of tourist season must be their time to make the bulk of their income. The tourist is at the mercy of one of the only auto repair shops in town. Our car was there for an overheating problem in July. They "diagnosed" and removed and replaced the coolant in the system and charged us $220 for the privilege. The technician who declared the car "not overheating anymore" took us on a test drive to an elevation fo 6,000 feet to prove it. Guess what? It overheated, all the way to the red mark, and he turned around to go downhill so it would cool off. They said there was "nothing else to be done." And one of the service technicians, Brett, said that there was no warranty because "there was no repair done." How is that for making a $220 profit for a little work? Don't go there! Have it towed elsewhere, anywhere! read more

I took my vehicle in for oil change, check fluids. I was informed I have a leak in the power steering. I was informed they did not have time to address this, make a separate appointment. I did. My appointment was at 1 pm. My 3 pm, no one had worked on my vehicle yet. Shortly after I was informed I might have a "big problem" and that they are unsure where the leak is coming from and that it would be a big repair where they would rip out the engine and they would need the vehicle for a month. I finally left that day after they had put dye in the system and drive it as much as possible, bring it back next week. My roommate helps me investigate what's going on with my vehicle the next day, as there is nothing leaking on pavement, no signs on the dash that there's a problem. My roommate informs me that because I had rust proofing done (east coast thing) it looks dark and shiny on the underneath of the vehicle like something is leaking. Due to the lack of education about this topic at perry motors, it caused me a lot of anxiety to be told they would need to work on my vehicle for a month. Super glad my roommate brought this to my attention and helped save me thousands of dollars on something that was never a problem. read more

I've used this shop four times. Every repair estimate I've gotten from Ronnie the Service Manager has been lowballed. He then goes into contortions telling you that you needed two fragistates, or a rebuilt turbo valve, or new plug wires; whatever he can make up. Twice I've had to bring the car back after it was fixed. After a wheel alignment my car was vearing to the left unless I held the wheel. The other time they had overfilled my oil. If you go here and they change your oil, please check the level when it's done--more than a few friends in town have had a similar experiences. Too much oil can ruin your engine. This shop fully takes advantage of being the only Toyota dealer in town. Avoid unless your car breaks down in front of the shop. Good news is that the parts department and office staff are nice--that's why the one star! read more
