Brett (Service Manager) and staff were fantastic!While working on a suspension issue they found 2-3 rusted parts that had to be replaced as well. I would have to leave my car for a few days (mainly due to parts being ordered and coming from far), which was unexpected. They secured a "loaner" vehicle for me which was nicer than my SUV! He can talk you through air filter checks and replacements, and get you out the door lickedy split when you go in to get information or parts. Service is terrible at Perry motors. I waited 5 hours to learn that the service associate could not replicate my issue. My appointment was at 9 am and I learned of the info at 2:30 pm. Additionally, I told the service consultant that I'd be waiting in the waiting area and he told me "oh I didn't know you were waiting." It's unfortunate that there are not other service options in the eastern sierras. You can do better Perry motors. read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Called and made appointment with their assistant service manager. Explained in detail what I needed done. He was flippant about my request, stating several times that they would take care.of me. Dropped vehicle off with service manager. He read his computer and stated, so, just a diagnostic? I again explained what was needed, repeating the directions that I had previously relayed to the assistant. The power steering pump needs to be replaced, its leaking and making whining sounds. The hoses and reservoir have been replaced and its leaking at the unit. This is a know issue for 80 series Land Cruisers and mine has 170 K on it. Manager states ok, no problem, well take a look and order parts. I explain that the vehicle is driveable and needed so I would like it back when the parts are on order. Manager states, "ok, not an issue." Two days later receive voicemail explaining that power steering unit is leaking....and I will need to pay 130 per hour for them to wash the fluid and grease off the unit, so they can conduct a multi point inspection. The voicemail is received after they close early for the holiday. When I dropped the vehicle off, they never mentioned holiday hours or that they would affect my ability to retrieve my property. Manager informed that they just got busy.....sounds like they need a service manager. Summary: customer requested that parts be ordered and vehicle returned when no work was being preformed. Service department kept vehicle for entire holiday, did not order parts, did not complete inspection.... I suppose this is service, just not the kind I am willing to pay for.... read more

Completely painless and straight forward experience. I used the online buying option and it was very easy. When I got to the dealer it only took about 15 minutes. This dealer was the only dealer for hundreds of miles that had the specific model of tacoma I was looking for. I drove over 300 miles to get here. I was not disappointed. I was helped by Alfredo and he was extremely helpful. He was very responsive to all of my questions and did not try to push any gimmicky services or products. Upon pickup he was also very helpful in assisting in downloading the toyota app and getting it set up n my phone. He also did an excellent job on explaining all of the features and functions of the truck. If you are shopping here ask for Alfredo! My Relationship has been beautiful in the last 20 years with the town of Bishop California. Amongst those has been that of Perry motors. You see back in October 2002, I came back from a seven day long backpacking trip and discovered that my 1987 Toyota pick up would not start at the trail head. I proceeded to have someone help me pull it to where the hill started and I toasted it all the way down into the town of Bishop from Northlake. After many attempts to replace spark plugs and wires I was not having any luck trying to figure out what was wrong with the ignition system. A friendly person who Saw me trying to push my vehicle To the Toyota dealership Perry motors helped me get the disabled truck across 395. When I inquired with Perry motors, they said they didn't have any spots for service appointments. But then 20 minutes later an employee who owned the same kind of truck that I did had a hunch that it would be the ignition module. This kind soul during his lunch break swapped out his ignition module in his older Toyota pick up to put it in mine and low and behold it was the problem. I was able to go to the parts department at Perry motors and purchase the ignition module and be on my way home! In 2021, I was beginning to cook myself to death by still driving this 1987 Toyota pick up in the heat of summer in the Mojave desert near Barstow and Baker were and I work now. As I live in a nature preserve I was in desperate need for a vehicle with air-conditioning and four-wheel-drive. I called around many places nearby in Las Vegas and of course it was pandemic Mayham with vehicle prices, as many dealers were charging way over MSRP particularly for the Toyota Tacoma. Remembering the good experience I had with Perry motors back in 2002, I gave them a call and they said that they had a white Tacoma double cab with 6 foot bed that was going to be on the next trailer. Their inventory was low but if I wanted this one that was coming in all I needed to do was put down a deposit. After thinking about it for a day I called them up and said yes. They had the best deal of anyone in Nevada and Southern California on a TRD off-road Tacoma with a double cab & 6 foot bed. I had them replace the stock tires with BF good rich KO2s and got a good rebate on the tires it came with the truck. When I picked up the truck it was love at first sight! It is by far my favorite vehicle and I enjoyed the experience very much of the sales and service staff that sold me the Tacoma. I'm now the happy owner of a Tacoma that I named White Buffalo, a highly sacred being in my spiritual tradition. If you're a fan of Toyota Tacoma's and other Toyota vehicles, this is the best dealership to go and get your deal. Even if you live far away! read more

I had my Honda in this summer for an obvious problem that I figured was a strut noise. They had my car all day and could not hear the very obvious noise/banging. When they called me early on in the day to say there wasn't a problem, I told the shop to take it to someplace that has speed bumps (the trailer park has some....) or someplace that they could go over bumps so they could hear the noise. They did they said however they still stated that there was nothing wrong with my car, I KNOW THERE WAS AS I COULD HEAR A BANGING WHEN I WENT OVER A BUMP. While this would go for any sort of services and sales industry, there are a few select gems that are willing to go the extra step to help out when they can. I worked directly with Aaron to inquire about a fairly rare vehicle to acquire and followed up with him. The communication was clear and no promises were made, however, Aaron came through with the good news after working directly with corporate to find me the specific vehicle I was looking for. Paperwork and logistical efficiency were top notch. Financing was done quickly and efficiently as well with some of the best rates possible. I understand this is a family owned business doing what they can to serve whatever they can do to the community and beyond. It's not easy to continue to operate during these tough times, but Aaron did go above and beyond to make the process an easy one. I was quoted 1 hour of labor (plus parts) to install new rubber parts on the bottom of the door windows. I was charged 2 hours of labor. (I wasn't even there for 2 hours.) When I called questioning it, I was told by the service person that it was 1 hour for front windows and 1 hour for back windows! Brought my Honda to have it checked because my engine misfire indicator remained stubbornly on. Perry Motors came back indicating that my engine was leaking oil onto my spark plugs. They proposed a major rebuild of my engine estimated at around $9K (parts + labor). Since I wanted to take the car to a different mechanic (out of area) for a second opinion, I asked Perry Motors to at least replace the spark plugs. The declined claiming that given the state of my engine it would make no difference. I drove my car to the other mechanic, who diagnosed the problem as bad spark plugs, replaced them (for a few hundred dollars). I have been running the car between the Bay Area and Bishop for four months without any problems. I understand that sometimes businesses take advantage of captive customers. But the difference between $9K and a few hundred dollars is staggering. I find this deeply unethical. read more

Perry Motors has saved my butt a few times now. I don't live anywhere near Bishop, but I like to go to Death Valley. At least 3 times in the last several years, I have limped my 4Runner into Bishop with some kind of breakdown (Alternator, Water Pump, wheel fell off, etc.). Pretty disappointed with my experience trying to work with Perry's service department. I should have warranty for a previous repair that was done at a Honda dealership, but the service advisor was not willing to even check if the repair would be covered under warranty until a month from now. I was told to take the car 5 hours south, to the dealer who performed the work, despite the fact that any Honda dealer should be able to perform this service.
