All I can say is WOW! As many who have commented here, I needed an emergency tire replacement while on vacation. Found Perez tires just before closing time on a Saturday. The Honda Roadside Assistance had me towed to the Honda dealership in Bishop from Tonopah NV for a replacement tire for my car. The tow driver dropped me off only for me to find the service department at Honda was closed until Monday. (but I could leave my car in front and put my keys in the drop box...). We were supposed to be in Ely NV by the next day. Looked up tire places in Bishop and Perez Tires showed they were open until 3:30. Took a chance they would have an AWD tire that would work. As it was almost 3:00 I tore over there like a madwoman. Was greeted by Alex and showed him the tire size I needed. Within minutes he came out with it. As the back of my car was loaded to the gills with camping gear, Alex and another worker had to completely unpack it to reach the spare compartment in order to remove the blown out tire and to return the spare after they swiftly put on the new tire. And they were so kind to repack everything thoughtfully (I am old and disabled). And the tire price was way lower than I had paid on other occasions. The whole thing was like 15 minutes tops! Beware! Do not do business with Perez Quality Tires, Alex(THE OWNER), the RIP-OFF artist, shakedown of a businessman. After 20 years of living in the Eastern Sierra and four years in Bishop, it was easily the worst experience I've had with a retailer. He demanded cash to order the tires and promised installation within a week. Eleven days later, with no call, I went to the shop, and he offered immediate installation. However, he reminded me that he needed an additional $775 on top of the $500 deposit. I went to give him cash and asked for a receipt in exchange. He yelled at me and called me an idiot. He said a cash sale means no receipt and no paperwork for warranty purposes because he does not report the sales to the state. He then repeated that I was an idiot and that he would not give me my truck back (I already had the keys from Alex, the employee), and that the discount for cash is in place of sales tax. I offered to pay the tax to receive a receipt and warranty paperwork, and he called me an idiot again and asked me to leave. He said, "Come back later to pay when I am ready to beg him." I returned defeated at the end of the day and paid Alex, the employee, cash so he could avoid reporting the sales tax to the IRS. BISHOP AUTO CENTER is installing the same tires for $180 less on my wife's truck tomorrow. read more

After getting TWO flat tires up in Rock Creek, the tow truck driver from Mr. K's dropped our car off here in their parking lot as they were closed for the day. Luckily, they are open on Saturday (oddly, some tire places aren't). I was very worried they wouldn't have tires for my Volvo wagon Sport edition- those very low profile tires, not your standard tire. I needed TWO. They opened at 8am and by 8:30 I had two new tires and was on my way back to the hotel to pick everyone up! What a relief! Very nice staff that seem to work very hard. Highly recommend. read more

My family was driving through Bishop area on 395 on a Saturday afternoon going home from vacation and two of our trailer tires exploded leaving us stranded on the side of the road 8 hours from home. It was a cold afternoon around 2pm. They repaired my flat, helped me replace my spare under the truck and did all of this in about 20 minutes and were very polite and provided excellent service! Perez' Auto shop definitely gets 5 stars for customer service. While headed to Tahoe we blew one of our trailer tires and almost a second in 105 degree heat. We called every auto shop in Lone Pine, Big Pine and Bishop but since it was 45 minutes from closing time on a Friday we were told over and over we would have to wait until the morning. When we called Perez' they said if you get here before 5:00 we'll take care of you. We rolled up at 4:55, sweaty, stressed and unsure what our backup plan would be and they honored their word.
