After being turned down by Miller's in Lone Pine (too busy, supposedly), we ended up at Perez Tire right as our delaminated tire was about to fall apart and was quickly losing pressure. We were super stressed of risking having a tire pop, when it was 107F outside! We made it to Perez and in minutes, two gentlemen had found the right replacement tires. We were able to stay cool in their waiting area (with our dog) and their price was very reasonable! Kind, professional people, who had us back on the road in less than 30min. As we were driving thru the Mojave desert in 110° heat our AC broke down and eventually started making a concerning little noise. We drove in two hours of empty roads sweating in our car as the sun inched up in the sky. We were on our way to Reno and the car was packed to the brim + rooftop carrier. Lone pine had no availability for a mechanic and we would find our Bishop didn't either, but luckily as we drove to Bishop we saw this tiny tire shop in Big Pine and pulled over to give it a try. We are so glad we did bc Giovanni was the perfect person to help in a pinch. He knew we were on a quick timeframe to get to Reno and did whatever he could to help us get back on the road quickly and safely. He walked us through everything and was clearly extremely knowledgeable about his work. Once he fixed the car he showed us the old broken parts and explained what happened to our car. He clearly loves what he does and understands it very well. Even though breaking down is never a great experience, our experience with Giovanni at Perez Auto was the best we could have hoped for. I was dropping my truck off this morning for service and a caravan of trucks and trailers heading to a Pomona car show pulled in at 8am. They had the exact tire replacement to make the repair and get them back on schedule...amazing service! OMG, these guys are my heroes! We got a nail in our tire on our road trip on the 395. It was a Sunday and our tire went flat overnight while we were in Lone Pine. We gave these guys a call and they said just drive on up with our spare and they'll take it from there. When we arrived, they knew it was us and were SO FRIENDLY and welcoming! We were in town camping. We first met Giovanni on the side of the road after a rock tore a hole in a tire of ours. An older gentleman stopped to help us, then Giovanni happened to pass, pulled up and assisted with getting our tire changed. He let us know he had a tire shop and what time they'd be open in the morning. We stopped in first thing, and he quickly assessed our tire and showed us the large, unrepairable hole. He looked to see if he had a tire of the same size, which unfortunately he didn't, but he called his brother's shop in Bishop to see if he had it, which he did. Giovanni took care of our tire for us, and refused to take any money for his troubles. He was super kind and professional. Being a lesbian couple visiting a small town, we weren't sure what we would encounter, but this whole situation has really made us fall even more in love with Big Pine and the people here. read more

We stopped here on a Hail Mary on our way to Bishop after getting a rock tear in one of our tires. They were having issues with their phone, so we couldn't call ahead. They were able to get us on our way in less than 30 minutes with 4 new tires at a more than fair and competitive price. Our treads were already low and we were due for new tires, they recommended we at least replace 2 to get home, but we decided to replace all 4. The price was fair (comparable to what we'd have paid at home), and that's not to mention they could have easily charged more due to being a Sunday. I have nothing but great things to size about Perez Tire! I was staying in Big Pine for a couple nights to do a hike, and ended up having pretty intense car troubles. I was told that not a single mechanic in Bishop would be able to see my car to figure out what's wrong for at least a week (not convenient for me because I live hundreds of miles away) but I thought I'd check to see if these guys could help. They looked at my car immediately when I came in, figured out the issue within minutes, and fixed my car within hours and I was able to get back on the road. Not only was the service super quick and reliable, they also charged me less than the estimate they quoted me. Before I left, one of the mechanics (unfortunately I forgot to ask for his name) actually drove me around in my car for 10 minutes to teach me how to use the low gear on my car so that I wouldn't run into the same issue. Some people might drive by this shop thinking they only do tires. I found Alex and his team to be very skilled at diagnosing and replacing a failed alternator. It was mid-afternoon on a Friday before the 4th of July weekend and it was 96 degrees out. He found a replacement part in Bishop, had it shipped down and installed within two hours while my family hung out in the air conditioned office. Great service! Highly recommend! I got a flat tire yesterday and while up in the mountains. I looked on Yelp and found several places to get my tire fixed which included a couple horrible review places and this place which has great reviews. This place was further of a drive but of course you go to the place that has the better reviews. I called them after hours and they answered and I said that I would be by at 8am when they opened the next day. I just finished having my tire replaced from them. They were so fast, very thorough, and had great prices. I was in and out within 20 minutes. I wish there were more honest places like this in Los Angeles. Fast work honest prices. 20 min to get our left back tire replaced on our 2017 Subaru Outback. The men looked hard working. Easily found what the problem was, glass slit the tire making it useless. It sucks we couldn't patch our tire. However, the silver lining is we can utilize this tire as a spare if this ever happens again so that we can continue on our journey without any added expense to our travels. read more

Life saver! We were hiking up in the White Mountains and noticed our front trie had a flat at Schulman Grove near the visitor center. We replaced with our spare and made it down the windy road back to Big Pine whew! Once we were in cell range, looked on Yelp for a tire shop, pulled into Perez Tire and Lube. Can't say enough about this place. We had a flat tire on a Sunday driving from San Diego to Tahoe. Driving a Kia unknown to us does not have a spare but a tire sealant with a mini compressor. We drove the max distance on this tire and limped into the shop at 3pm ( they close at 3:30 on Sunday's. We had called ahead and we were in and out with a new tire in less than 20 minutes. They had even offered to drive to us with a new tire if we couldn't make there by 3:30. They are the best and did not overcharge for the tire as some of the other places we called had quoted. Note: not a lot of places to fix/repair tires or any auto issues on the 395. Definitely go here if you are ever in need. read more
