This is a beautiful setting; the glassed in garden is comfortable and beautiful. There is also a more secluded inside club like small seating area. We started with the prawn appetiser, and it was prepared perfectly with a combination of small and large prawns accompanied by some salad. Excellent! We then tried house salad and also Caesar salad. Both were inventive and delicious. For mains, we had a delectable duck breast; a delicious moist roasted chicken, and a generous, if somewhat predictable, cut of beef steak. The side of roasted potatoes is notable, very generous, moist, and tasty. And, all the other sides were perfectly prepared. The service was noteworthy in especially accommodating our dietary requirements. Reasonably priced too, for a really first class dining experience. Highly recommended.

I didn't enjoy the ratatouille that accompanies the dish, but the fish was well worth it. The filet was also cooked perfectly and had great flavor! The chips were also yummy. Great texture outside and soft interior. Their own soup was also delicious. Great flavor and had a great onion to broth ratio. If in the area I recommend getting a reservation or arriving earlier to snag a table. Great overall

I paired it with one of their locally brewed lagers, which was crisp, refreshing, and a great match for the meal. The biggest surprise was the mushroom soup. It was rich, velvety, and absolutely exquisite, served with warm house made bread that was impossible to stop eating. What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. Fresh local ingredients, fantastic beer, unforgettable food, and wonderful service. Market Lane deserves every bit of its five stars. Highly recommended!

Definitely consider making reservations because the restaurant gets quite busy during peak times. I chose to go with the fish pie and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The second night I had an appetizer of seafood chowder and the John Dory fish. The cheese cake was unique, , very satisfying taste of cocoa, and the crunchy and gritty texture really felt like Ferrero Roche. For the other dishes I found something interesting. The prawns and crab sandwiches tasted standard, but the oily sauce (prawns) and the sweet and sour puree (crab sandwiches) had exquisite flavor that made one want to finish them all with a piece of bread (which I did). On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side. In general I enjoyed my experience, but I wonder if they could match the quality of the sauce and the main ingredients better :)

During our entire stay, as my friends had joined about 10 minutes after I was seated and had already ordered drinks, the employee just kept throwing glances and staring at us the entire time. We were all ordering, so it wasn't like we were holding a table hostage. We did get good service from the waiter, although he didn't come around as often, even when we were out of drinks. Kudos to the whisky sommelier for giving us great suggestions. It's a quirky bar/restaurant, but I'm not sure it would be worth a return trip. The employee with the attitude was really unnerving.

Finally, the musicians invited about six members of the audience to learn how to play the bodhrán. Overall the music quality was excellent. The food was also satisfying. I had the chicken and chorizo pie which came with a small side salad dressed in honey mustard and a small portion of roasted potatoes. My friends really enjoyed the pork ribs. The waitress was awesome she split the bill for our entire group!
