A great place to have a meal with a great view in the city of Cork. Our party of five really enjoyed our evening with some delicious food. I ordered the fish and chips and got to try their shrimp curry as well. I prefer the fish and chips better than the shrimp curry though. The service was great as well. We stopped in for an Irish Coffee and Coke. We were sitting outside by the water, enjoying the view, when it started to rain. Thankfully we got inside before it started pouring. Unfortunately, as soon as we got inside, we watched our table overturn, and the umbrella snap off! Always an adventure! The staff was kind and helpful. They did not object to our relocating ourselves during the storm. We didn't have food, but we were impressed with the menu and prices. This in inside the WatersEdge Hotel. Great ambiance & food! Just stopped in on our cruise visit! Fish & chips is often my choice!

We walked past this restaurant between the train station and our nearby b&b so we knew it was open (off-season, February). It was a dark, rainy night and we hadn't yet explored Cobh. So we headed back. In general our mains were fine - not special but good and one was modified with gluten free bread. The star of the night was a supposed starter. We asked for a gluten free version of a "fried goat cheese" dish. We don't know what it was supposed to be, but we received a very large beet and goat cheese salad with a delicious and delicate dressing on a bed of very fresh baby spinach and beet greens. Incredible. I gave a point for atmosphere. We sat at a window wall overlooking the harbor and there was a fireplace. Despite the gloomy night it wasn't lit but it could add to the ambiance. The hotel lobby did have a lit fireplace. The location is next to the cruise ship landing. I imagine that in-season it's too busy. We had a quiet and relaxing dinner, though. read more

If you're look for a beautiful view to sit outside and have 1 drink. 1. Only 1, then this is the place. They won't come back to check on you. Plan accordingly In my opinion- eat elsewhere. I love fish and chips and have eaten them in a few countries. We ordered them here. My husband was too hungry to not eat it but hated it. I ate the chips which were good, and only could manage 2 bites of the fish. After no one coming to check on us, offer another round or bring a check we finally went in and waited up front for someone to get us a check. No ambiance inside. I was very very not impressed and underwhelmed. read more

Even on a busy Sunday the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Great views winter or summer. Highly recommend!

We've been here several times and it's always been very good. The menu has a good variety including fresh seafood and the service is above average every time. Last week we had the seafood Alfredo and the baked hake with potatoes and veggies. Both excellent, we will be back. read more

Food is spot on ...... The lamb falls off your spoon .... It's thattttt good..... The steak and steak sandwich were one of the best we have had in Ireland, the curry was alright but it tasted good. The bbq chicken was very tasty and juicy I just wish they didn't have skin on it because the skin wasn't crispy it was mooshy, their fries is very good but a couple of their fish dishes were flavorless.... Rated one of the top restaurants in the area. Was a cute place with a coastal casual feel rather than classy. The food was mediocre. I was really looking forward to lamb and it wasn't as tender as I had hoped for...same thing with the monkfish. Burgers were good, the ravioli was good and the red curry was also good--not too spicy. They also had a good wine selection and wine available on tap. Service was a little slow, so with the mediocre food, higher prices and subpar customer service, we removed two stars. If you are in the area and looking for a good staple, this is definitely a great option. read more

Gorgeous water views. We opted to sit outside. It was quite cold, but that wasn't the restaurants fault. Food was great. We had the seafood chowder, which was only ok. But the fish and chips, and the hake were both very tasty. Our main issue was the service. Our server suggested we only order the soup, and didn't want to place our dinner order until we finished. I thought that was odd but we went with it. After we got our soup the service became quite slow. It took her a long time to get back to us after our soup. It took a very long time to get our dinner. After serving our main course, the server never came back for well over an hour. I'm not sure if it's because we were outside or what but she never came back. We ended up walking in, paying, and left. Overall, food was good, but service was lacking. read more

I particularly enjoyed the seafood chowder although the fish of the day could have done with some veg as a side rather than just mash. Their vegetable soup was probably the best soup I've ever had. I need to find a way to replicate it. So very delicious. My ribeye and chips were perfectly cooked, I love a proper juicy steak! The feta salad was also delightful. Lovely service as well. read more

I was pleasantly surprised here! We were staying at the hotel but actually looked for other places to eat since hotel food is usually not that great. We ended up eating here & were very happy! I flew in to Dublin and drove to Cobh (cove) just before nightfall. I checked into WatersEdge hotel and as its the beginning of winter season, decided to dine at the hotel since most of the town seemed closed. I thought I'd be settling for crummy hotel food, and boy was I proved wrong. I ordered the steak ciabatta sandwich with chips (fries) because it was local beef and I had to try actual Irish potatoes! The garlic butter sauce and sauteed onions were a rich delicious compliment to the hunk of steak placed on top. I had to slice the steak so I could actually take bites of it as a sandwich but boy was it worth it. Scrumptious and hearty, just what I needed on a chilly night after a day of traveling.
