This is your average Perkins. I came in for breakfast. I ordered the Big Country Skillet. This is pork sausage, applewood smoked bacon, smoked ham, American cheese, and cream gravy with two eggs* served over crispy smashed tots. I ordered the eggs scrambled. This is one of my favorite breakfasts at Perkins, and this store does it well. The tots were crispy, the gravy plentiful, and the eggs perfect. The prices are reasonable. Perkins will always be one of my go-to breakfast joints. read more

Perkins, seems like if you went to one, you have seen them all. The waitress was nice but forgot a couple of things. The bacon was not cooked much and the crispy hash browns were basically raw in the middle. The people I was with wanted a Perkins or Dennys because they thought the food would be fast. It was a normal amount of time but the restaurant was virtually empty. A lot of Perkins have been closing around Minnesota. So old and out dated. They need to put some life in the place. I wanted to support smaller businesses but it will have to be next time. read more

Honestly cant believe how small the food portions are and how much the prices have gone up Perkins isn't at all what it used to be I got about three fork fills of hash browns and my everything omelet was an absolute joke if you're in Forest Lake and want a good breakfast go to Key's Cafe! Slowest Perkins we've been too even though the restaurant was half full for breakfast. We recieved our coffee promptly but our food was delivered cold. I sent back my skillet to be heated up and it came back drowning in gravy. I attempted to eat what was not slathered in gravy but it was disgusting. The omelet we ordered was good, but cold. Given that both my boyfriend and I only ordered two country fried steak and eggs. Once it hit 1:20 I decided that we were leaving after another table had been sat down and served before us. We went up to the front desk to pay for the coffee, orange juice, and muffin that we ordered and received. We stopped going to this location because the service was so bad. We just tried the online order and pickup. Well I guess they only have one cook so my order took over 45 minutes. That was with 15 minutes waiting at the location. Which if they only have one cook don't accept online orders. But I stood there for 8 minutes before the staff would talk to me. They did not have enough people so one person could be at the register. I have two guys with Autism that like to eat there once per month. They need supervision 100% of the time. I had to stand in front of the cash register for at least 15 minutes and when I looked for someone to help me the man in the kitchen was very rude, you can't be back here! I wish I could be allowed to not leave a single star. Ordering for pickup, already paid on my phone, and was denied my food when I went to pick up. After I get home, and a lot of arguing, I'm told I'm "allowed" to go back and pick up my food that was all ready paid for, and made. We stopped coming up here because we had to wait over an hour to get dinner one night. They also had this terrible practice of asking for the tip amount at the register, so you have to announce it to everyone. We're not bad tippers but it's awkward for everyone to have to process it that way. Our regular Perkins was packed, so we drove to Forest Lake. We got seated right away and our order was taken right away but again we had to wait for way too long to get our meals. My husband asked for a cinnamon roll right away but it didn't come until our breakfast was served - the server didn't come and check on us in between. I think the wait was close to 45 minutes. Our son was certain they "ran out of kid's food!" When it did come, my husband was really disappointed with his omelet. They had poured some kind of powder-y cheese sauce on top of his omelet. It looked pretty nasty but he was starving so he just scraped it off. My French toast was fine and our son was relieved to see they didn't run out of chicken. We tried to complain when we left but it kind of fell on deaf ears. We just won't be back again to this location. read more

My mom and I stopped in for breakfast, there was only 1 other table of 2 there when we got there, I had the everything omelette with hashbrowns and toast, I couldn't even consider what I had a omelette it had very little in side and not much more on the top and the hashbrowns were crispy but it was the equivalent of maybe a 1/2 of a small potato and it was sooooo NOT worth the $14.99, this location used to have really good food and you would get what you paid for I won't go there again, the service was mediocer at best and we had to go up front to get our bill. read more

We just ate at Perkins in Forest Lake, Minnesota. This was probably one of the worst meals I have ever had. They were out of most menu items so we ended up ordering the turkey dinner. The dressing was the consistency of day old wet cardboard. The turkey was covered with what appeared to be some form of very intense beef gravy. The corn was starchy and tasteless. This turkey dinner was basically inedible. The garden salad was fresh and the waitress was great. I will never eat at Perkins again read more

What can you say, this is Perkins. Nothing fancy, but it's a decent, clean place with a good selection of foods especially the breakfast menu. It's a good place to meet up with someone and have coffee and bakery or a bite to eat and carry on a conversation. The quality of the food is not as good as Village Inn nearby in Wyoming. read more

Glad to see improvements made at this Perkins. The service was a little slow, but friendly, but was very clear here is the improvement in the kitchen. Our food was great. I know its just Perkins, but when you rarely get to go to a Perkins, you look forward to the taste of nostalgia and they knocked it out of the park. I placed an order around 1am on the Perkins website to be picked up at this location since the hours state they are open 24 hours on Fridays. After placing the order, getting charged, and driving all the way to the restaurant, the doors are locked. Later in the day, after calling multiple times and being hung up on multiple times, an extremely rude female worker finally answers the phone. I tell her my concern and she basically tells me I'm lying since I said the restaurant isn't truly open 24 hours on Fridays. I tell her that I would like to cancel my order and be refunded and she says I'll need to speak to a manager. She then puts me on hold and transfers me without notifying me. As I'm speaking with the male manager he tells me that between the hours of midnight and 6am the Perkins website will not allow orders to be placed at all. I know right away that's incorrect since I placed my order between these hours, I got an email confirmation saying what time it would be ready for pickup, and I was charged. He then tells me that even though the website allowed me to place the order, I will be refunded in 5 business days. He says there's nothing he can do since the website is run by a vendor and they have no control over it. Needless to say he did not provide me a solution, even if it was some sort of compensation for the experience I've had while attempting to order from the Forest Lake Perkins, who false advertises their hours. read more

After a long adventure out and about, we were excited to stop by Perkins for some food. This location was fantastic! Just what we needed after a long day! 5 of us were seated quick and all needs met fast which was fabulous! All the staff was super welcoming and really worked well together. Treated you just like family Very accommodating to all coming and going giving boosters, pick of seats, etc. Food orders were fast and the food is exactly what you expect of a Perkins. Only bummer was they were out of their yummy strawberry cream muffins - we will survive that! Overall it was a great experience as we were stopping through town back home. So this is a Perkins and not Murrays Steakhouse, I get that. I am rating this Perkins very highly because they are definitely trying! Monday evening for dinner and were greeted promptly. Our server had just wiped down our table and booth so Danielle tried to accommodate us by finding a different spot. Nothing really was open so she dry towels our original booth so we could sit down. There were 2 servers on the floor that we could tell and a very large birthday party in a secluded section. You sure couldn't tell they were " short handed". She was attentive and friendly. Our food was prepared very well and came out of the kitchen hot! Not always the case at restaurants like this so we were very surprised. The cooks did a great job. The manager stopped by and checked in on us, as well as other tables. I see some pretty low scores for this place, but our experience had no issues. Years ago this was a great place to eat. In the last 4 to 5 years everything has gone down hill that my family and friends refer to this Perkins as Pukins. My fiancee, myself, my friend and his fiancee had gone there to eat after a trip. Took a few minutes to get a table ready in a half empty building. We get seated and get water and wait and wait and wait for a server to come and take our order. After a good 35 minutes (bare in mind when we walked in only one couple was waiting for food) three of us got our meals. The last meal, mine, came 10 minutes later. All I got was a omelette. All of us said the food wasn't good. We paid the price later as all of us got sick. We tried it again as we chalked the poor service and sickness as a coincidence. Food tasted about the same. Service was a hair better but that is like saying getting a baseball to the head is slightly better then a puck to the head. We all ended up sick again. I called and talked to the manager at the time to tell them about this and that they need to fix that. We explained to them we won't ever be coming back again. She said she will give us a $50 certificate if we would come back. Once again I explained we won't be going back and others experienced what we did too. Funny thing is a year later my buddy and his fiancee once again ate there and came to our place. The hostess was exceptionally friendly, so much that it started to seem forced. Our waiter was also friendly, but inexperienced. I ended up pretty chilly when a glass of ice water go spilled on the table and ran into my lap. He also took at minimum five minutes to bring a side of mayo. Would have been understandable except we were one of four tables in the entire restaurant, and only one of two that were his. The food was edible and my order was correct. Fries were cooked perfect, burger was dry, hence the need for a side of mayo. My daughter's broccoli was not good, I just can't seem to explain it. Usually a decent place, but it changed from that. When I arrived tonight there was no server, and a line filling the lobby. When we were seated, the floor was sticky. The waitress never came back after we ordered to see if we needed soda refills. The food took about 45 minutes to wait and leftovers from an all you can eat meal took about 20. I'm visiting from another state. we picked perkins as a neutral easy fairly quick and polite restaurant. when we sat down and ordered, i'd spilled my water so i asked for napkins. after asking for napkins and waiting fifteen minutes, i was tired of being polite while she sat there on her phone. finally i asked again, saying mam could i get some napkins and a straw, and her response was "heard you the first time" and throws her phone down. she then takes five more minutes to get them to our table. when she gets there, she says "damn grandmas getting cranky", while i'm literally 18 years old- kinda hard to mistake? she then takes 15 more minutes to bring the straw and throws it on the table without stopping. the service and food is awful, they're disrespectful and take FOREVER. after all this, she brings my friends orders but purposely brings me the wrong one. when i correct her, she gives me a nasty look and says be back soon read more
