Great little candy store in Perkins Cove Maine! A wide variety of candy & fudge. Lots of salt water taffy, in a lot of different varieties of flavors. Kids loved it!

Nice little candy store tucked away in the corner. Good to stop by and pick up a handful of treats to snack on while you're in the area. We stop by here every year.

The best candy jelly fruit slices. Recommend the milk chocolate covered pretzel and milk chocolate caramel nuggets. Excellent view!

Perkins Cove Candies has a couple things going for it: they serve sugar in a beautiful location. Perkins Cove Candies has a few things they need to remedy. They only accept cash (but have an ATM inside that'll undoubtedly charge you a premium fee for using it) is number one. It's the year 2015 and there's a place in a tourist town that doesn't accept credit cards? WHAT? The service is also been the same sultry workers for years now. Come on, you're making a killing on overpriced candy in a beautiful place. Is life that bad? Smile. That said their own brand candy they offer is pretty good, but not amazing. They also have the same candy you can find in any Target but at double the cost. A fun place to bring your kids once but that's about it.

    Seriously delicious peanut butter cups!

Pretty expensive little place, with a great view looking out over the ocean. Pretty decent variety of candies, chocolate, house-made marshmallows, you know, the usual candy store-type stuff. I had the pleasure of trying the dark chocolate peppermint patties and the dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Both were outrageously good. Gripe: SUPER pricey and cash only. Most of the candy and chocolate is mix and match (yay!) but it's also $21.95 per pound. Woah. And it's a cash-only place.

I stop by here every time I come to Perkins Cove! They have a good selection of candy. I love the taffy here! They also have different kinds of chocolate and other types of candy as well. If you are in the area, stop by!

Penuche fudge with walnuts (a maple like flavor popular on the upper east coast)

Perkins Cove Candies is the candy shop you would expect in a tourist town. The staff are very friendly and it's great for grabbing something small or large as they have bags you can fill with a range of items including many flavors of fudge and saltwater taffy, as well as tons of chocolate covered items and truffles. I had the penuche fudge with walnuts - a New England tradition that reminds me a bit of a maple flavor. It was $2 for a smaller slice, but the pricing is what I'd expect for a tourist spot.

    One of heaven-on-earth's signs.

I lied. I said I would give 5 stars for every review regarding my Maine trip, but this one will only get 4, because the girls at the counter were gossipy and rude, to tell you the truth. OTHERWISE, this is a peek into heaven as far as candy goes. There's all kinds of fudge, maple, and your typical fruity candy (like peach rings). What attracted me the most was the wall of barrels of salt water taffy. I've never seen so many flavors in such quantity before. Blueberry, strawberry, orange sorbet, green apple, maple, chocolate, grape and even licorice! I created my own half pound bag of the more fruit flavored ones, and it cost less than $5. They're delicious, by the way.

During my recent trip to Maine, I decided to pass through Ogunquit since it had been many years…read moresince my last visit. I remember during my last visit that Harbor Candy Shop was a standout, so I decided to stop in and rediscover the shop while exploring the area. Candy shops are pretty synonymous with resort/vacation downs in the United States, so it should come as no surprise that Ogunquit has one. Harbor is one of the better of these shops I've been to - it's large and very well stocked with a variety of sweets. They have a selection of bagged branded products, a wall filled with bulk candy, and a large display case with more artisan chocolates. The location is also prime - right on the main drag in the middle of all the action in Ogunquit. After browsing for a while, I decided to pick up a couple of pieces of loose wrapped chocolate and two of their house branded dark chocolate bars. Everything was good, I could tell the chocolate was high quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more chocolate from them again. While I do think Harbor is a premier confection shop, it's not perfect (nothing is). The prices here are outrageous - I almost couldn't believe what I was reading at times. Does it match the quality? The jury is still out - just be prepared to dish it out. Also, the traffic flow when checking out is confusing, that could use some improvement. Outside of that, though, Harbor Candy Shop was great and worth a stop in when visiting Ogunquit.

I probably would not have come here had it not been for a book I just read ("Was it Something I…read moreSaid?" By Alison Cheperdak) that praised this place. There is a really impressive variety of sweets: chocolate and non chocolate, bars, truffles, gummies, jaw breakers, etc. There is something for everyone (even vegans!). My husband and I tried the Dubai dark chocolate and the strawberry lime prosecco truffles. Goodness, they were good!! The latter was probably the best truffle I ever had! It turns out it is one of the most popular items (I learned this when I came back). Service was better than expected! The teenage girl who helped me was friendly and quick. Stop by for a truffle if you're in this area!

It's ridiculously expensive at $20 per pound so I spent over $30 on taffy but it was great. The blueberry, watermelon, and peanut butter were my favorites. Blue raspberry (which is actually pink colored) was also good. I wish the pieces of taffy were a little bit bigger because they're quite small compared to the wrapping so a good amount of the $30 that I spent went toward the weight of the wax paper wrapping but the taffy is great. It's nice to have real homemade taffy and not that Taffy Town stuff that every other candy store buys when it all comes shipped from the same factory in Utah. Service was friendly. They should honestly be handing out samples of the taffy. They asked me if I wanted to try fudge which was alright but on the sweeter side but it's the taffy that was great. At first I only bought a small bag with a few pieces in it just to make sure I liked it, and I loved it. Taffy is soft and flavorful and real.

If you're in the mood for sweet candy, definitely worth stopping in. Be aware tho they are a bit pricey. I was looking for some maine made ites to bring home as gift and I bought locally made blue berry maple jam and a variety of locally made fudge and had small bag of candy and came in at close to $50 and I barely bought anything. Just keep that in mind. Other than the prices, its neat and well stocked. The staff was very nice and even cut the fudge in smaller pieces for me when I asked even tho theyre not supposed to.

I get that most everything has gone up in price but to give less and charge more is outrageous and I don't agree with it. I saw lots of things I wanted to buy & bring back home (Vegas) to share with my co-worker's but I just didn't want to pay the price for 1/2 the amount. It's definitely a great store to go in and look @ all their products, even stuff from your childhood. I'm sure out of towners have no problem spending the amount that Yummies is charging too so I'll save it for them!! Iol I did have to get some fudge as I saw they had my favorite which is penuchi without nuts & it was delicious!! This is a better deal because the price is based on weight, so no skimping there!! This is a must store to stop in if you have a sweet tooth and you're in town or close by!! They do have some souvenirs you can buy and a bunch of non-editable gifts. I did see the cutest stuffed lobster animal & wanted to buy it until I saw the price. Great selection of t-shirts too! Enjoy & have fun!

An annual must-visit to enjoy a banana split sundae with 3 flavours! Sitting down in their amazing old-school(but clean) swivel seating, everything about it is so perfect. Pro-tip, if you want more room to eat the sundae prior to melting and spilling over in the glass, ask for it in a to-go container, it will give you more time to eat it all, as it melts. It's a gem!! Always love the staff, as well! They are so extremely friendly and kind!! 10 star service!!! I remember coming here as a kid, with their penny candy shelves, it's of course been a while since that was a thing. I notice small updates every year, and it makes me thrilled to see it!! Their saltwater taffy is the very best. We always take home 4-5 one pound boxes:2 for us and 2-3 for family and friends. My husband's favorites are the chocolate, the creamsicle and lime.
