We did sit up in the bar seating because it was a little packed in the general sitting area and we didn't want to be around a lot of people so it worked for us. We met a friend here for Saturday morning brunch, and there was about a 20 minute wait. It ended up being over 40 minutes, and my 1 year old stayed patient enough so we could thankfully still try it. It was worth the long wait. Great fresh coffee, friendly service, super cute atmosphere, and an amazing breakfast! A little more over the normal breakfast budget in my opinion, but it was a nice treat for us. My hubby enjoyed the chicken and cornbread waffle combo and I loved my pesto breakfast sandwich. After taking a walk around the mall, wanted to find someplace new for breakfast. Again, a Yelp search did me good! This space is so adorable. Open and bright, I can imagine it's even nicer when it's not negative infinity outside. Our server was so friendly and helpful as well. Our breakfast was fantastic. I got the Perkarito (breakfast burrito) and was able to substitute the meat for turkey sausage. The fact that they serve non-pork breakfast meat here is a huge plus. The burrito was a little messy, but so yummy. The pineapple jalapeño pico was just delicious. Hubs had the lemon ricotta pancakes and, I'll admit, I had some food jealousy going on. Had I been in the mood for something sweet, I would have probably stolen his food. I did steal a bite, though, and those were OMG good. And they are plate-sized and you get 3! The patio was very pleasant, well shaded on a hot August day. But about the time our food arrived the other patio patrons left and we were bombarded with yellow jackets (bees). Thankfully by then the dining room had cleared out some so we were able to move inside. The appetizer (Buffalo deviled eggs) arrived quickly. They were tasty and a decent number 8 halves). The entrees came out a bit spaced apart - first two, then one, and finally two more. It was a long enough time between that I grew worried that the first dishes might grow cold as everyone was trying to be polite and waited for the whole table to be served. The presentation was great! All of the dishes had lots of food and looked really delicious. My Sunday in Italy Frittata was just ok. One colleague got the special - Aloha Pancakes and she reported that they were a bit dry. On June 28, 2026, three Military Veterans in uniform were heading to a church in west Bloomington,MN., for a military ceremony as part of the church service. As they were early, they stopped for coffee at PerkUP Kitchen. The Manager came to their table and asked if all they were ordering was coffee. Upon hearing yes from the men, he told them they needed to be in a coffee shop-pointing out one down the road. Telling them food needed to be ordered here, ne told them to leave. They did. Seriously? As Bloomington residents we had to check out the new place in town. It was a Saturday around 1100 and some people were waiting for tables. We ended up at the bar which was fine with us. The inside is beautifully decorated with white tiles and accented with bold colors. It's nice and open inside but not terribly loud. We enjoyed the breakfast skillet, chicken and waffles and some banana bread. The banana bread was a great start before our meals! Chef offered three different butters for the bread and the chai butter was a winner! The breakfast skillet was pretty basic - the potatoes in it needed a little more seasoning I think. The chicken and waffles were amazing and I would recommend this to anyone!! There's a spicy honey drizzle over it that adds a perfect sweetness to it We were served really well and the owner(?) was telling us about the locally sourced ingredients. This place took over the old Bruegger's Bagels I used to visit with my dad before school, so walking in was a really nostalgic experience. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and the cinnamon roll French toast -- and wow, both were incredible. Just raise prices 2% for everything on the menu and be done with it. Are they gonna start charging us to wipe down the table before you sit down? People are friendly, the owner came out to talk to us and tell us about his plans for the place (and he has some serious restaurant chops!). But the food is the main attraction. Every dish we've ordered has been great. Cinnamon Roll French toast isn't new, but their take on it adds a little something extra. Cinnamon pancakes were delicious as well. The breakfast poutine could feed 20 (okay I'm exaggerating, but it's a ton of food). And the frittata was spot on. We expect to be back often. Oh, I almost forgot the mimosa and sangria flights. We really enjoyed our late brunch at Perk Up Kitchen! The decor was beautiful! Very much like a modern kitchen throughout. Our wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our time as well. We started with a mimosa flight, which was a fun way to begin our meal. I'm beyond shocked and very disappointed in Perk Up because of what I witnessed on Sunday June 28, 2026. It was a busy Sunday morning and lots of people where coming and going. 3 Navy vets, all dressed in full uniform, came in. Turns out they were in the Honor Guard and had a few minutes before they were Ceremonial Guards for a Navy funeral. All 3 ordered coffee. A man who works at Perk Up came to the table and asked if they were planning on ordering food. When they explained that they were "just" there for a cup of coffee before the funeral service, the man/employee said, "Then I think you want to go to the Caribou Coffee." And pointed in the direction of the Caribou Coffee. The 3 Navy vets got up and left after this employee said tables were for people who are eating. I was (and still am) disgusted. Shame on you, Perk Up! You should have been offering to buy these vets their coffee, not condescendingly asking them to leave. Disrespectful doesn't begin to cover it. I will not support your business again. In my opinion, shameful. read more

Today I came to perk up kitchen to enjoy a relaxing breakfast. I ordered a skillet. Unfortunately, I didn't understand how it was made... there was bacon all throughout the meal. So I requested something different. The waitress Jennifer did not seem to want to accommodate my request, but she did anyways. I requested the classic breakfast and stated I wanted just the eggs and potatoes, no bacon, assuming the rest of what came with the classic breakfast would be there. If she wasn't sure she should have asked, but instead of ordering the classic breakfast, she ordered me a side of eggs and a side of potatoes without confirming that's what I wanted. I said I wanted the classic breakfast minus the bacon. She When she brought out my new order, the eggs were way overcooked and on a tiny saucer, and the home potatoes were in another dish. I was expecting the classic plate minus the bacon but because she was so busy rushing to the computer when the restaurant was not even busy. My order was wrong for the second time. I did not even eat the eggs. They were so rubbery like and overcooked, and I took the home potatoes to go. On my way out, I expressed as kindly as I could to her my disappointment and instead of giving me a sincere apology she became very defensive which at that point got me really upset. Jennifer's service was poor. Her unwillingness to take time to hear what her customer wanted so that it would be right the second time around was also poor and her response to my disappointment was definitely poor. This is my second time having her as a waitress and both times I've come her energy is always rushed and not really willing to listen just as it was today . I hate to waste food and I almost did not send back the skillet, but the bacon had so much fat on it that I could not eat it. I thought the bacon was just going to be on top or on the side not throughout the entire meal. The way I received my second request made it apparent that they were mad that I had sent the food back. This is a beautiful place, but service matters. When people are paying $15-$17 for breakfast these days it should be some thing that makes you smile and that you enjoy. read more

I was influenced by TikTok to check out this breakfast spot and it didn't disappoint! When you first walk in, its clean and fresh atmosphere is welcoming, as are the staff! We came on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. The place definitely picked up after we got there but never felt cramped or uncomfortable. We started with the banana bread and it was classic. Nothing crazy or over the top, just simple but delicious banana bread! We then split the Flat-Finger Frankie frittata, which came with fruit, and the breakfast sandwich with potatoes. Both were great! The frittata was a perfect size and was piping hot! There was a ton of cheese on top, and a decent amount of meat on the inside. I will say it seemed to lack the bruschetta tomatoes, I only found a few in mine. However it was still delicious. The breakfast sandwich was awesome! The pesto was a curve ball I wasn't expecting and didn't know every breakfast sandwich needed! It brought such a bright and fresh flavor that made the sandwich next level! One thing I felt was lacking was the options for more coffee drinks. I'm not a plain hot coffee girl, but live an iced coffee or latte with breakfast and was kind of disappointed they didn't have any cold coffee options. We started with coffee as we perused the extensive menu. I chose the Classic pancakes. They are HUGE and tasty. Couldn't decide between the yummy syrup or the fresh whipped cream so I tried both. I enjoyed a side of real ham with my pancakes. There were enough leftovers of both for a second meal. They use plastic glasses which I like. Cups of coffee hot and steaming at about 16oz. Acoustics are excellent as kitchen is right there and open to dining room. No sounds of pots and pans clanging! Breakfast all day; lunch starts at 11am. Prices vary from sides to soups to breakfast and lunch. Fries are $2 extra with sandwiches. Our entrees $15 and $17 respectively. Breakfast sandwich yummy on light airy Foccasia bread. Hot and steaming with egg, cheese, sausage, avocado. Delicious and more than enough. Pan fried diced potatoes. Breakfast skillets look small we saw across from us. I had the. Club and turkey and ham were like fresh carved, lettuce, tomato, real cheddar cheese slice, great whole grain toast and bacon.
