Other than the customer service from the very nice girl at the register, we really did not have a good experience here. My husband ordered an iced coffee he used a little milk and got sick within minutes, so he threw it out. I got the Turkey Sandwich, they were out of ciabatta, so I got it on a wrap. It came without any meat, in which I had to bring it back, it also contained no lettuce as advertised and one strip of bacon. It was very unimpressive. They basically just gave me a folded spinach wrap, for $10? No thanks. read more

i came in here and asked for a well done burger and when my burger came in it was pink, the employees were not rude but they weren't welcoming and they seemed like they hate their job there, i really wouldn't recommend coming here our food was plain and not that flavorful, the drinks were bad, it was just not it. read more

Love it! Came here one morning because we were in the area. And from the coffee to the food to the setting, it was wonderful. Great for any occasion and also there are so many options for you to choose from. read more

Disappointing for a place that specializes in a couple things: crepes and coffee. I'd expect both to be sensational, considering the coffee cafe competition in the area. Unfortunately Perk on Main didn't deliver. And I've really enjoyed Sweet Harmony's and Brew Bakers offerings and customer service a lot more - all on Main Street. I prefer the modern decor of "Perk" but that's about it. They could easily improve by putting more care into their products. read more

If you are looking for a delicious meal at a reasonable price, then look no further! Stopped in on a Saturday morning with my boyfriend and was greeted by a small, inviting dining room. When you first walk in you are most likely stepping into the line to get up to the register, because this place gets busy quickly. Though the line seemed a bit long at first, we reached the register in less than five minutes, to place our order. For breakfast they offer omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and of course, crepes, and for lunch they have savory crepes, salads, soups, and some sandwiches. I ordered the et tu brutus, a crepe filled with spinach, eggs, onions, garlic, tomato, and feta, and my partner had the western omelet; both were outstanding. Additionally, we each ordered a coffee, his was iced, and agreed that they both had great flavor to them. The staff were incredibly friendly as well, which only adds to the charm and warm environment of this establishment. read more

Not really what I was expecting for a $10 a plate breakfast place. I liked the atmosphere and the fact that they're green although I don't care much whether the food is organic or not. I ordered a southwest omelet whose taste was good but I didn't realize until I tasted it that it was missing tomatoes. It was pretty cold when it got to the table. It came with homefries which could have been mistaken for leather nuggets. To their credit, I said nothing so I cannot fault them for not fixing it, however, if your homefries have been sitting out for that long, don't refry them, just switch them out. The cashier was pleasant though. Again, not was I was expecting but it was "just okay" for what it was. read more

The space is really nice. Well decorated and has a unique feel to it. The food was only okay, though. And they charge $1 for coffee refills, which is bananas for a breakfast joint. Got an omelet with avocado and all of the pieces were brown, which is kind of nasty. The bacon was really good though. Service was meh. Everyone's food came out at different times, which is fine - just not what we expected. Seemed like the kitchen was a bit disorganized. read more

Been here twice since moving to town, love the atmosphere, and the food has been delicious. Had one minor issue with one of my orders that I addressed with one of the employees and they immediately corrected it. I'd recommend giving this place a try! read more

Came here to meet friends. We had not been since they moved. We loved the new location and the seating was great! It felt really authentic but the longer I stayed there the more I did not like it or believe it. We ordered and I got the curry chicken wrap, but did not want the wrap and just asked for extra pieces of lettuce. Which they did. The taste was good but there was maybe 1/4 cup of actual chicken salad which mostly consisted of cashews. It was literally 3 pieces of chunks of chicken in thing. I was going to go up and complain but I just wanted to enjoy my friends and not cause a scene. I felt like the food was cheap and not given a lot of thought of love. Then I saw a server not putting the right things in the compost bin. Several time! So is that just there to be "trendy" very disappointing. Too bad they have a great menu and location they should revamp their place and hire someone who knows how to put food on the plate and enough as well! read more

half the time I go the place is great, the food and drinks are good, but sometimes it's like they just dont care... got this crepe to go last week and it was really good, but this week it looks like they just threw it. disappointing read more

I rarely do reviews. Not because I'm lazy, but because I am usually not inspired enough to take the time to do it. This place is amazing! I got a southwestern breakfast crepe that was out of this world. Perfect amount of spice and everything else. Most importantly, the coffee is terrific. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is cool. I will come back whenever I'm in Middletown. They are lucky to have this place and I am lucky to have wondered in! read more

Far from the best option for lunch downtown. Had the turkey sandwich and they skimped out on the turkey. It was basically a veggie sandwich. Didn't look clean in the kitchen area where there was a lot of pieces of food and trash everywhere and there was a leak from the roof. Not too sanitary in my eyes. read more

Love the look and feel of this place and a fantastic happy staff that truly pays attention and dotes over their patrons. Artistically, this place is visually pleasing and so many different accommodations for seating from high tops, to regular table and chairs to couches...really well thought out. Now I wish they placed this thought process into their baked goods...had the glorious morning muffin, probably one of the worst ones I've ever had-dry and no flavor. I originally poured myself a hazelnut creme coffee and terrible tasting-even my other half found it to have a strange after taste. Replaced it with their bold flavor and that was much better-2 muffins and 2 small coffees came out to $10 and at $5 each, we weren't satiably satisfied but we loved seeing the smiling faces while at work...will definitely give it another try when back in the neighborhood and will definitely venture for something far different than the muffins read more

Love Perk on Main in Middletown! Awesome prices, extensive menu. Even just the regular coffee is delicious. Gluten Free options that aren't just lettuce. I asked on a whim if they had any baked goods, I was pointed towards the Triple Berry Muffin. WOW! It was amazing! The crumb was perfect and the inside was light and soft -not a dense rock cake like I've come to find in my new GF life. Can't wait to see the new space in September!! read more

Super rude staff! i walked in to be glared at by the middle aged woman while i decided my order then the bratty smoothie girl gave me heavy attitude because i asked for one item out of the smoothie that's on the menu... used to love this place now i'm probably gonna avoid it for awhile because of the stank service read more

This was my favorite spot in Durham, and now it's my favorite spot in Middletown. The food is delicious and the socially, environmentally friendly mission of this establishment is even better. read more

Big place with plenty of tables but can't handle a crowd. It took 35 minutes to get a crepe, a wrap, and a kids grilled cheese. Crepe was dry tasteless and falling apart when put on the table. The curry chicken wrap was bland with very little chicken. We are Middletown Main Street regulars and definitely won't be back read more

We love Perk! Our favorite crepes are the Southwestern and Elvis, but they're all amazing. We only wish the Middletown location was a little bigger because it can get crowded when it's busy. That said, we love that we can sit down or order online and pickup to-go. One of our favorite places in Middletown! Update: We have now been to the new location and we love it! So spacious and no more question about whether we'll get a seat. read more

The Perk on main is the best ! I ordered the Classic Crepe and it came out extra thick and perfectly cooked. I will most certainly return and recommend it to everyone. read more

I got a salad with balsamic and they gave me maple syrup. I spent almost $10 on something I didn't even end up eating lol. I got it to go and put the syrup on before realizing it was syrup so I couldn't just have them give me balsamic. also update ur closing time how do u expect people to know u close at 6 when everything says 8?? read more

Cute little spot! There's a huge selection of burritos, omelettes, and crepes. I had the Santa Fe chicken - it was amazing! I also got a perkuccino which was wonderful as well. This is definitely a great breakfast/brunch spot. I'd actually love to come back for lunch - that menu looks yummy as well. read more

We recently held a breakfast the morning after our wedding at Perk on Main and had a lovely time! Katie was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout the process from beginning to end. She helped advise us on the perfect menu of fruit, muffins and scones, and some delicious crepes! We also had some vegetarians and guests who were gluten free, which was very easily accommodated for. The crepes were amazing and I'm still craving another one right now! It was the perfect place for our friends and family to gather after a fun evening. Katie had set aside an area of the restaurant for our guests, making it easy and low key to gather with guests. Even more, it was walkable from our hotel, Inn at Middletown, which made it very easy to get to in the morning. I would highly recommend stopping by Perk on Main for delicious crepes and pastries + definitely would consider using Perk on Main for your next special event! read more

I came here for the first time after a hair appointment next door. I needed to grab a quick dinner and heard from a friend that it was one of her favorite breakfast places. I ordered two crepes to share with my boyfriend, the Rajin' Cajun ($8.50) with cajun chicken, tomato, melted cheddar and cool ranch dressing, and the Amazing Grace ($7), local Deerfield Farm's low-fat vanilla yogurt, banana, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. I also got a medium Spicy Chai Tea ($4). The Amazing Grace was just as the name implies, absolutely delicious! The mix of berries and yogurt was so good! I finished every last bit. The spicy chai tea was also one of the best I've ever had. I would come back just to order that to go. The Rajin' Cajun on the other hand was not my favorite. It was a little too spicy for me and the pieces of chicken were too dry for my liking. However, I'd love to come back again and try more of their crepes! A cool thing is that they can change their savory crepes into wraps or salads if you just ask! read more

Stopped if coffee and ended having a full breakfest. Everyrhing cook well, fast and very tasty.

I have ordered several times on line and it is always ready on time and very tasty! I also found Katie to be very helpful and flexible with catering orders. They accommodate gluten free, and vegan diets. I highly recommend! read more

Really good food and coffee in a comfortable setting on mid Main Street (so perfect as a jumping point to other locations in Middletown). But for all these good aspects, they really need to work on their speed. Waiting 30 minutes for a simple sausage egg and cheese is not acceptable. Acknowledging the delay would have been nice too. Ill be back again for another go though, hopefully giving them a better rating. read more

I've ordered vegetarian dishes twice, and both times I found meat in my dishes. This is unacceptable, and I can't really trust the quality of this operation. Avoid this place unless you want hidden meat in your food. read more

This is a cute little space I've watched for the past couple years while it's been vacant and for-lease. When it finally got a tenant I was glad - except it was a coffee place. Going in right next to Sweet Harmony, and into this small city that has 100 eateries and coffee places already. There are chairs up front by the windows, but you'd have to be a dwarf to be comfortable in them. The other tables are run of the mill. Their menus are odd: printed in colors on clear plexi, mounted above wood backgrounds. I think they're going for a Nature look, but the end-result is that they're very hard to read. I've given Perk On Main three tries. I found the sandwiches good, but nothing to write home about. Their coffee, which is what they're supposed to be all about, is consistently disappointing. While they hype the various flavors with a generous shot of adjectives, it is merely OK as coffee goes. And their iced coffee? Awful would best describe it. I thought maybe the first day was a fluke, so I tried it again. It was just as bad. Bitter. Add sweetener and you have sweet-bitter-bad (NOT in a good way). Add more milk and you have milky-bitter sludge. So, it's not that it's merely too strong. It's just bad coffee. The staff was average one of the days I was here. The other two days they ranged from unfriendly and annoyed... to depressed and dejected. read more

Decently priced breakfast. We came at 9 am on a Sunday morning and they didn't have any butter yet! The veg omelet was really great. The Home fries had a good spice to them but were not fully cooked :/ read more

Great crepes!! The place is small so it can get busy but worth waiting a few extra minutes!

All the "Perk" locations have been fantastic! Glad I finally had a chance to stop in for a nice breakfast. Great coffee, the dark roast was not burnt or bitter... smooth and almost velvety. And the food was high quality as well. Go here! Keep them in business. Local places like Perk and Klekolo are true Middletown gems for coffee lovers. read more

Coffee and egg crepes are delicious! Restaurant is clean and inviting! You can order online and your food is ready when you arrive.

I wanted to give this 5 stars because the food is always delicious but I have come here several times in the past 3 years and the customer service is always awful. Got an iced latte and vanilla iced Chai tea. Both were good and on par with a real coffee shop (i.e. NOT DD). Inside was bare bones, only two tables occupied but it was loud due to the way the room is so i wouldn't study here. Will come again :) read more
