This started as a typical car buying experience for the most part. Would have bumped this review up at least one star except for my interactions with the finance person and later with the sales manager. The finance manager was so focused on selling a 3rd party extended warranty (not even the more economical and convenient Hondacare) that he told a total untruth regarding the ability to perform basic maintenance on your own car. In fact he doubled down and said that you needed to be ASE certified. I was LITERALLY ready to walk at that point but my wife got me to calm down and complete the deal. I stewed on this for a week but could not let it go so I called and spoke to the sales manager. My conversation with him was very cordial and polite, but it truly felt like a conversation he had done plenty of times in the past and i eventually said my goodbyes but totally felt dismissed. So here we are, 2 months later, and I'm still pleased with the car. I ended up buying a genuine Hondacare extended warranty from another dealer for about a 1/3 of the price of aftermarket one that was being pushed in my face, as I've got no intention of spending another dime of my money here. read more

We needed a car and the dealerships near us didnt have the model and color we wanted so we came here. We bought crv hybrid. We like the car but we did have some complaints. First the sales person inattention ... he kept walking away and leaving us while we were in the process of making this huge purchase/decision. So i had to go searching. We had answers we needed answered to finalize things. It was aggravating. This is not our first car but never been treated so dismissive. Plus in finalizing things they said we had to do oil changes at dealership or oil change business like jiffy lube. Booked an express oil change earlier this week using the online website at the available appointment time of 3:45. Arrived 10 minutes early. No one greeted me until I'd stood at my car for 8 minutes. My vehicle got pulled away before I signed the paperwork which I thought was a great sign. I asked the service advisor how long I should expect to wait and was told "by the end of the day" I asked what that meant since I had an express oil change booked and was told "oh no, there's no express today before a holiday weekend. It will be done before the end of the day." When questioned further, that means by 5:30 or 6. But supposedly my car is already started so I can't abort this appointment. Super frustrated that what should be much less than an hour is going to be over 2 hours. Valvoline instant oil change done in 10 minutes is looking better and better! read more

If you go for an oil change watch out for unstated shop fees. On a $60 oil change and tire rotation shop fees were $22. Won't do that again.

Crooks! Worst car buying experience of my life. They flip cars with known problems from out of state dealerships and pass them off as fine and used. We discovered that this happened and was documented in their own system. Ended up calling the car dealership they bought it from and they confirmed the scam and told me the dealer knew about everything. If you find yourself in this situation, look for the paper trail. In fact, issues were documented in their own internal system. They ripped off our family to the tune of thousands and thousands of dollars. So took in a vehicle for an oil change... (Audi that purchased there) dropped it off one way. Picked it up with all the service lights on the push start doesn't work unless you push three times etc. service manager said it's a used car with over 100 thousand miles which I understand but I am suppose to believe it's just a coincidence the starter is going out and all these electrical issues are happening right when I bring it in to be serviced...he states they did nothing but change the oil and do an inspection well something happened. When I asked what supplies are used for a front end alignment, they couldn't tell me. Oh, we charge everyone that...but don't disclose up front. And a $2.89 charge for document storage. Been a customer with Kings Honda now for roughly 10 years. On my 3rd car with them, I've always had a pretty decent experience until my last trip on 3/28. I received an email with a lease buyout deal and went into the dealership to get into a new car possibly as I was looking something a little more sporty. I brought this deal to attention of the sales rep and he said "I don't need to see it". I explained to the sales rep what I was looking to get into, and the payment amount I'd like to be around upfront. He didn't really hesitate or seem to think I was not in the ball park on figures. The rep proceeded to get me numbers on an SI (that I wasn't allowed to test drive until numbers were negotiated I might add). I sat for over an hour to get an outlandish number thrown out at me (almost triple my current payment, no where near what we had discussed prior), when I asked why so high, there was no consideration to honor said lease deal that was sent to me, I was given false numbers on the amount of my trade in and lease pay off amounts. The more I questioned what I was being told, nothing made sense. I got the impression that they just wanted me off the lot. They completely wasted my time and could have said right off the bat that they wouldn't honor the deal, that would have ended things pretty quickly and I would have moved on and probably kept my car. At this point I don't want to do business with Kings Honda anymore. So I took my business down the street to Columbia Acura where they honored the deal (very shocked that they did) that was sent to me, took my trade in with no penalties, as the email stated and got me into a more expensive and sportier car for far less than the SI I was "quoted" at Kings. I'll never be back to Kings Honda, they lost a customer for life. Shout out to Columbia Acura for a fantastic experience and saving what felt like a wasted day up until that point! read more

Disappointed and Misled by Platinum Protection at Performance Kings Honda I purchased a 2025 Honda Civic Sport from Performance Kings Honda and added the Platinum Protection package, which was supposed to include tire and wheel coverage, oil changes, and more. When I recently returned for service on a tire with a visible bubble, I was told the repair would be covered--but it never was. Despite documentation stating the right front tire was replaced, the bubble (on the rear right tire) was never addressed and still exists. The service team was confrontational, dismissive, and refused to acknowledge the discrepancy--even after I showed photo proof and service video evidence. I later discovered my "Platinum Protection" wasn't even through HondaCare--it's with a third-party company (Memorial Protection Corp.), which was never disclosed at the time of sale. When I tried to escalate, no manager would follow up, and they refused to provide documentation that I returned their loaner vehicle. The only person who treated me with respect was Colleen Oliver in Customer Service. She was professional, compassionate, and helpful--but sadly, she was the exception. This experience has been a frustrating lesson in poor accountability, misleading service contracts, and a total lack of customer care post-sale. I've opened a case with Honda Corporate and the BBB, and I strongly urge others to triple-check any "protection packages" sold through this dealership. read more

After waiting for over 2 hours today, I was turned away. They could not help me. What for? A tire repair. I had a 6 month old Bridgestone tire go flat due to a large nail. To get there I put Fix a Flat in it then drove it there. They took the entire tire off the rim and proceeded to tell me they could not help me. I said, "per the FixaFlat website, you take some soapy water and a rag and wipe off the FixaFlat, then you can patch the tire." They refused. I've never ever been turned away from an auto repair and service center. Let alone for something so easy to remedy. It's almost unbelievable. I still cannot believe they would not help me. I'm a Honda owner and customer and have been for over 25 years. I bought this car here. But this is just out of bounds man. What is this world coming to? read more

Amazing experience with Darrin! I went to Performance Kings Honda Used Cars with my niece to help her purchase her first car. We had the pleasure of working with Darrin. We couldn't have asked for a better person or experience. Over the years I have bought and leased many vehicles. Darrin made this entire process incredibly simple for my niece. He has a wonderful attitude, very welcoming and not pushy. I try not to get a repair from a dealer if I can avoid it, as I believe the conventional wisdom -- dealers ARE more time-consuming and expensive than any other type of mechanic. However, I had an air conditioner issue for the 3rd year in a row (yes, Honda's are well-built and hardy, unless it comes to the air conditioning!), so I needed to take it to the dealer. This time, it was mostly a positive experience. And, yes, the first day they didn't have the part, so I had to come in a second day (a week or so later, when I could find another day off). And, yes, it took 6 hours and was expensive. What was different this time was my service agent. He knew me from previous visits, gave me timely progress reports and accurate timelines, and in general was open and transparent and easy to work with. I like that my "wait time" can consist of perusing the nearby shopping areas (they offered to drive me to them across the street, but I preferred walking), kept me apprised on when I should come back, and -- amazingly -- as soon as I returned he went to check with the mechanic and let me know the car would be ready in 15 minutes!! I'm still reluctant to go to a dealer, but if need be, I know I'll be more comfortable going here. read more

Buyer beware they are very slimy . When we purchase a used car they told us that they would look at the broken window and we got it in writing. So they made an appointment when the car got there they said what we have in writing is they looked at it and said yes it was broken. But they stated that the paper signed was that . I bought a Honda Certified 2022 HR-V from King's Performance Honda and picked it up on Thursday evening around 5:30 PM. By Saturday evening--just 48 hours later--the car completely broke down! My dashboard lit up with multiple error messages, including: "Emissions System Problem" "Electric Parking Brake Problem - Parking Brake Not Available - See Your Dealer" "Charging System Problem" ...and basically every warning light imaginable. I had to pay $160 for a tow truck to get my car home. The next morning, I called the salesperson who sold me the car--his response? "There's nothing I can do since it's Sunday." That was hard to believe, considering that just the previous Sunday, they were hounding me for my down payment check and even asked me to come in that day! So they can chase my money on a Sunday, but when my car breaks down after TWO DAYS, they suddenly can't do anything? Monday morning, I call as soon as they open. No manager is available, and they just keep forwarding me to service with no real answers or solutions. I've had this car for less than 72 hours, and they refuse to take responsibility! As of now, my car has been in their possession for 20 hours, and I've heard NOTHING. No update, no offer for a rental, no refund, no apology--nothing. I'm stuck without transportation because of a Honda Certified vehicle that failed in two days, and this dealership is showing zero accountability. At the very least, I should be reimbursed for my tow fee, but they don't seem to care. This is NOT how you treat customers! If you're thinking about buying a car here--DON'T. Naturally, when I started researching my next car purchase--a 2025 CR-V Hybrid--I decided to visit the sales side. Unfortunately, this experience has completely turned me away from this dealership. From the start, I was upfront and honest: I was not buying today, just gathering information to make the best financial decision. But instead of being met with transparency and professionalism, I was met with evasion and excuses. The sales manager outright refused to provide any details beyond the list price, claiming incentives and inventory change too frequently. I simply wanted to know the current incentives and what my out-the-door price would be if I purchased within the month. Other dealerships have readily provided this information in the past, so why not here? This entire experience felt like a deliberate attempt to keep customers in the dark. I don't know if this is a new industry trend, but I find it extremely frustrating. Am I supposed to lie and say I'm ready to buy just to get basic information? That's unfair both to customers and to honest salespeople. If a business has competitive pricing, why are they so afraid to be upfront about it? Because of this lack of transparency and unwillingness to assist me, Performance King's Honda has lost my business. I was very interested in buying a used hybrid car there. The hybrid car qualified for the used PHEV instant tax rebate of $4000. This started in January 2024. They were not even aware of the program and they are not registered to do the program. I called another performance dealer and they told me the same thing. This seems ridiculous. This performance is a major auto seller in Cincinnati. They should be up-to-date on the IRS tax incentives and offer them to customers. I asked him why I could get it somewhere else and not there and they didn't have the answer. So I will not be buying a car from them as I can go somewhere else and get $4000 off a used hybrid that qualifies for the tax rebate do not go there. Not good. 1. Started the CASH deal around 4:30pm as I had something to do at 9pm. Needless to say, I missed my 9pm appt. 2. They could not accept $14k in cash and would not accept a check unless they could run a hard pull on my credit. 3. Tried to slide in a protection plan and the Pulse light thing. Told them I didn't want either one and they tell me the Pulse is already on the car, in the price, and couldn't be removed. 4. I was standing outside next to a car and an employee intentionally triggers the horn of the car to jump scare me! Who does that?! 5. Wait over 2 hours for sales mgr. Said id run out to get a snack, told it "would just be a few more minutes" when it was not. 6. Was supposed to finish the deal today but I'm not going to pay to be clowned and taken advantage of. Will never go back. Rolled in with a CRV to get recall work done, an oil change, a tire rotation, and A/C check. Was given the "bad news" out of the gate that they can't really check the A/C and it was going to be $400 to evacuate/recharge...not really knowing if it was going to fix the issue but it was definitely recommended. There are sensors as you drive in "checking your alignment" and of course, it was out of alignment. I passed on that one. Then while changing the oil they, of course, found a stripped drain plug...$200. That was the cheaper option over a $1500 oil pan replacement. Along the way I was peppered with texts with recommended service...brake service, filter service, upgrades, recommendations, etc. It indeed is a money grab feasting on individuals that don't know or can't see what the techs are actually seeing. They lost a customer today with their first try. Never going back....only went for the recall and will stick with honest mom-and-pop shops. read more

My name is Robert Wilson. First, I would like to say that I am a loyal Honda customer. I believe in Honda. I take my car to this service department regularly. My story begins on Monday, June 30th. I brought my car in for a recall issue on my 2020 Honda CR-V. They had the parts to complete my recall, so I told them to do the recall service. I also authorized a spark plug replacement service, as well as an engine coolant flush. I waited for my vehicle. I was at the dealership for between 4-5 hours. They completed the service, told me everything looked fine and normal, I paid $528 for the services, and drove my car home, 21 Miles. The next day, I drove another 6 or 7 miles. I parked my car. About 5 minutes later, I started my car, when suddenly all of my electrical warning lights went off one after the other, and my front dashboard was filled with error messages. The car would start, but I had no steering controls, no brakes. When I put my foot on the gas, the engine revved up, but nothing happened. The transmission warning light was red. Something serious and major had gone wrong with my car. So much so that I had to call a tow truck and have my car towed to Performance Honda. That was a week ago. During this time, nobody called me from Honda to give me updates, no progress reports, no explanation as to what the problem was. They did give me a rental car that they charged me for. Finally, yesterday, I had to call myself to get an update on my car. The person I have been dealing with in the service department couldn't give me an answer as to what was wrong with my vehicle. After 7 days, I had to take off work to go up to the dealership myself to get a status report. I talked to a manager, but there is still no resolution to my maintenance issue. What's worse, if they can't "reproduce the issue", then how safe is my car to drive? What if I leave Performance Kings Honda, drive my car onto the interstate, and the problem happens again? This time, I'm traveling at 65 miles per hour. If the same problem repeats itself while I'm driving, I could be in a serious injury accident. I can't understand why the technicians cannot fix my car. Very frustrated. This is in addition to the botched oil change I received in April, when they forgot to put the oil plug back after changing my oil, and engine oil ran all over the bottom of my car, completely coating it. I had to have my car towed on that occasion as well. I am hoping they can resolve this. Otherwise, they will lose my business, perhaps to Toyota. read more
