6/16/24 Update: Here's the texts proving I was in contact with this business and here is a nasty review just left by the owner of this company on MY business page. I'm sorry, but you never used my business. You never reached out to me. You never sent me photos of the vehicle which is what I actually ask for, but you wouldn't know that of course since you never contacted my business. You didn't even know what I do for work. Keep up the defamation though, fantastic look for you. Wow, that was an unbelievable response. You left fast it was on video. You drove In fast it was on video. I implore you to listen to the phone call your wife and I had. What wild accusations to place on somebody, a "woman abuser" after canceling the appoint due to YOUR attitude and demeanor unknowing that I was even speaking to the owner of the company. I was not rude whatsoever to your wife, so if all you have is to place lies on me to justify your actions you do need mental help. Also, since you clearly didn't comprehend what I said to you when you were here, what I stated was I know a lot of people that use your company and my wife and I would be sure to share our experience in dealing with you to them. Your response further solidifies the entire situation. You showed up on my property without my consent saying you were here on my property and began threatening me, and here you are doing it again.

Performance Based Heating & Air replaced all the ductwork, heater and install air conditioning into our 1400 square foot home in Arnold. The crew arrived on time and completed the job in 2 days. The system works perfectly. The cost was significantly less than the local competition. The job was done 10 days after my first call as opposed to the local competition who were going to take 4 to 6 weeks to get to me. I was very impressed by the owner's opening remark after I agreed to the job over the phone. He said our relationship would be like a marriage. We would be bound together for the next 10+ years. He took the words right out of my mouth. Thanks Jacob & Team !

The outdoor HVAC unit was totally installed crooked. When I showed the owner the problem, he told me to fix it myself. Classic.

Update June 16, 2021: In a total mafia move, the owner sent me a text saying, in part, that he would blackball us with all local contractors to get back at an honest Yelp review. From the owner's text, "If you don't know you'll figure out at some point. This is a very small community, most contractors know each other. I know someone from every HVAC company up here. Probably 10 electricians, plumbers, General contractors, etc. We all run into each other all the time. I could easily contact people and advise them about you. That would be a dick move...." Update June 14, 2021: Jacob Klein, the owner, actually made a YouTube video on his personal YouTube site violating our privacy and making up something about a contractor lawsuit that does not even exist. He also filmed a YouTube video in our house without our consent for commercial purposes. Do not let this guy in your house. Original post: We had these guys install a large 5-ton mini-split heat pump system in 2020. When I asked them to install a small 0.75-ton mini split in an outbuilding recently, the owner gave me a quote. And then he chastised me for wanting a building permit and said it was $750 for a building permit, which is far beyond market rate for a small system like this. After scheduling the job, he stalked me on Yelp and said he didn't want to do the job in the end because I hadn't given everyone a five-star review. The owner said I should try the following other places, instead of his shop to service the system *they* installed: Angels SheetMetal Aire Serv Gatewood Central Heating and Air Comphel Foust The owner also doesn't keep his politics to himself, which is annoying and bad for business. Don't hire this guy unless you're looking to get hung out to dry with a big ration of attitude. I'm sure the owner will write some condescending reply to this review.

We have an oil burning furnace here at the Red Church. I called for a service. They came out a day…read moreearly and I was not notified. I am the person in charge of the buildings and grounds there. They called the church office and of course the lady in the office said come on out. They sent a tech and she checked it out as all ok. That cost us quite a bit of money. Then the thing starts fouling up again and won't come on. We call for another appt.vA new tech comes out, Doug. He seems very knowledgeable. Got it going. We got another charge for service. Then, it still won't come on during church service. Call Doug back to look at it. It's not getting fuel. He cleans out the line but fails to check the filter even after I suggested it. He said those things last a long time, we don't need to check it. Then not long after same problem. Won't ignite. Call them back for a FOURTH TIME! This time Doug checks the filter. It looked like it was clogged with black mayonnaise! He replaced the filter, problem solved. But really crummy service. I bought a dozen filters and will be servicing it myself. Unless I quit which is likely. I personally will never call them for service again. But the lady in the office prolly will.

I also had him replace the wall thermostat to one that was easy to read and set. Fast forward to last week, I called and requested a check up on my heater to make sure all is good. I was told a service could take place sometime that day. No more than 20 minutes later the truck pulled up! Jesse came in, and checked out my unit and did some cleaning/maintenance and very nicely changed the time on my thermostat. Everything is good with my unit and I am very happy with the service I received!

Foust was subbed out from our GC a few years ago to install a new HVAC system for the remodel of our cabin. Not sure who recommended what in terms of the type of system, but ultimately Foust installed a ducted mini split that wasn't suited for our snowy climate, nor was it applied properly. Unfortunately I had no idea this was the case and have been foolishly replacing/revamping everything else in our home, in an effort to mitigate our insane electric bills that have been averaging $1K/month during the Winter season. This for a 1,250 sqft home with propane fireplaces. Fast forward to now, after installing solar panels on our property as a last ditch effort to reduce our energy costs, when I finally realized that the only constant has been our HVAC system. After contacting several reputable companies in the area (Comphel and Waters), it was confirmed that not only was this not the right kind of system for our home, but the manner in which it was installed and implemented was borderline criminal. Terribly inefficient choices and lazy execution. I gave Foust an opportunity to make it right (since my GC is no longer in business), and their owner, Matt came out for his "expert assessment". Based on his body language and demeanor upon arrival to our home, it was painfully apparent he had no intention on hearing anything we had to say, and already had his mind made that the sole responsibility fell on me and our former GC. After some back and forth and repeated dismissals of our concerns, he ultimately slipped and flat out said "this system is not the best choice for Winters in this area, and it's going to be operating at max capacity during those months". Finally, the truth!! At this point my wife chimed in to give her perspective, while he stood there with a condescending grin plastered on his smug face, and things finally fell apart when he called my wife and I "a joke". My patience had completely worn thin by then and I loudly escorted him off our property, with several expletives to send him on his merry way. His response, exactly what I'd expect from someone that treats their customers this way and calls a woman and mother a joke, he took his phone out and began recording me. No problem you juvenile LOSER! Consider yourself lucky, and a word of caution to any other crooks out there, you steal money from my family and insult my wife on our property - you'll get the same response if not worse. So, Matt, go ahead and post that video or do whatever you'd like with it. Play it on a loop in your office for all I care. Makes no difference to me. It's only going to further highlight how terrible of an operator you are and how little you care about your customers, that you'd actually insult them enough to be yelled off a property. We have worked with countless local businesses since moving here and every single one of them would gladly work with us again. So now, we'll be taking our money elsewhere and will likely have to spend several thousand dollars to fix the pis* poor job that you guys did. A zero star review would be a compliment. Good riddance!
