The installation took two visits, the first during a period of nasty weather so he worked under the house. The second visit was the installation with very professional work. It was a very common story - we open a door into our vacation home to watch the floor flooded with water due to a malfunction of a temperature/pressure valve in our electric water heater tank. Looking for businesses available to server Groveland area I found two companies I decided to call in. Optimized Plumbing and Piping was second on the list, but once I called them - the very first conversation over the phone, where I explained the issue, and we discussed possible approaches - tank vs. tankless, electric vs. propane - right after we finished I knew I would really want to do business with Curtis: - very knowledgeable - very technical - we discussed and agreed on moving from a tank to tankless solution and now we have extra room in our laundry room space, with the tankless "tank" installed in the house's crawlspace - ready to go an extra mile - part of the job we discussed was to put a propane line at our place, that was partially going over the ground under the house's deck, under ground. While doing the job Curtis needed to deal with a solid large rock that was on the way - his immediate comments were very simple: let me think how to address the issue - and it was addressed. - very accurate on promises and deliverables - timely and well documented with pictures, illustrating what was done, sent over the phone. My wife and I recently moved to copperopolis in 2022. The home we bought had an older water heater and we new that we would need to replace the old tank water heater with a new one. The water heater is located in a closet upstairs and if that tank ever leaked the water would cause alot of damage. So we contacted Curtis at Optimized plumbing and Heating. We decided to go with a tankless water heater (Navien 240A2 with the buffer tank). The buffer tank will help keep the water hot while in use. We received a quote and had Curtis install the unit on 4/6/2023. The install took roughly 6hrs., remove old water heater hook up new copper pipe to the new tankless water heater. The job went smoothly for the install of the new tankless water heater. The job was done very nice and neat, and I have a photo and if I can get the photo downloaded onto my laptop, I will update this review. We run off of propane and our unit was set up for this. I would recommend Optimized Heating & Plumbing business to anyone needing to replace a water heater or going to a tankless set up. (cost of the install: under 4k). read more

Needed my direct vent water heater replaced. Unfortunately direct vent is not as straight forward as I expected, and Curtis suggested tankless, and provided quote immediately. He showed up as planned, stayed on budget, and completed the work same day, without any issues. We purchased a new home earlier this year and upon moving in, we discovered our hot water heater and boiler system had failed. We weren't able to heat our home via radiant heat flooring and had no domestic hot water available. I called Optimized Plumbing after discovering they're one of the FEW licensed boiler contractors in the area; being that our system was so complex, that was a necessity for me. I spoke with Curtis the owner, and after learning that we were without any form of hot water he shifted his busy schedule around and made us a priority. He ended up completely redesigning our fairly new, but poorly designed system and installed a top notch Navien Combi Boiler unit and all associated pumps and lines. Amazing plumber. As a engineer i know great workmanship and they are the real deal was done to code and very neatly done. They completly re-plumbed my Ranch home (Jamestown)) in PEX. They replaced pipes, facets, kitchen sink and valves. They used a better brans of PEX than what was in Lowe and Home Depot. I read all the reviews that Yelp did not "approve"..., they were from new Yelpers and so Yelp typically does not use them. But... I agree with all the reviews. Curtiss, and his journeyman helper, Chris, did a great Re-Pipe job on our 70 year old place in Sonora. His estimate for timing and quote were spot on and his communication was excellent as well. All new PEX to 5 different faucets, two toilets and hot water heater. There was quite a bit of low level crawling required in our crawl-space and I never heard one complaint from either of them. Everywhere a water source was stubbed out, they used solidly mounted brass or copper and the PEX was all internal. Two of our baths had dual handle faucets and Optimized used nice "Moen" single handle control w/ a nice cover plate covering the old holes. SO NICE to not have dis-colored water from old rusty galv' pipes. Now our water is crisp, clean well water. Highly recommend Curtiss and his company for this kind of work. read more

Highly recommended. I had a Moen leaky shower cartridge replaced to fix a constant drip. He not only fixed that, but was kind enough to check my water pressure to my house which was 145 pounds, when standard house water pressure is supposed to be no higher than 80 pounds! I feel he saved me from a inevitable future water leak disaster. That much pressure in your pipes will eventually cause a leak somewhere, and possibly ruin your walls and floors while you are away from home! So, I had more work for Curtis to do, which he was very informative and straight forward with pricing before the work was done. He put a water pressure regulator valve in and a main shut off valve and accepted my input of how it should be done. Great work. Great professional communication. Straight forward pricing.
