What a fantastic experience! We wanted to do something special to celebrate my mother-in-laws 60th birthday. We wanted to do something intimate, and loved the idea of being able to stay home because we have young children and its always hard to go out to dinner to eat (they never want to sit still!) I started searching for a private chef in the Frederick area, and I am so thankful I came across Perfect Little Bites. Chris was so easy to work with. He sent a bunch of menu options, and got back to me quickly with detail when trying to work out the menu. We had a couple of vegetarians and an allergy we had to be aware of, and he went above and beyond with catering to all of our requests. We celebrated during COVID and we felt extremely comfortable with the procedures in place. Chris was super friendly, and wore a mask/gloves. Our family thought our appetizers, entrée and dessert were absolutely fantastic. It was such a great experience to get to host the party, but not having to worry about cooking or cleaning up the kitchen after. It was one of the easiest parties I have ever hosted. What a fun experience! My parents arranged for Chef Chris to cook a special dinner for us during our annual family trip. A night off from meal prep, cooking, and clean up was a gift in and of itself - but Chris's amazing food made it truly special. Chris is very personable and really knows his stuff - it was fascinating hearing about his own experiences, as well as the Frederick food scene. I know I walked away with a few new tips, tricks, and cookbooks to add to my collection (Knives & Ink by Isaac Fitzgerald and Wendy MacNaughton being one of them). And when it came down to the food - where the rubber meets the road - Chris is a 10/10. None of us could stop eating the pepperoni spread with apricots and walnuts. The apple fennel celery salad was light and fresh. The short ribs with herb chimichurri paired perfectly with the corn pudding and Brussel sprouts. And the malted milk pot de crème with pretzel crunch was everything you've ever wanted in a dessert. For my 41st birthday this year, I decided to have an adult dinner party! I hired Chris to come to our house and with his collaboration we came up with a menu which was FANTASTIC!!! He nailed it with each and every dish. The 12 of us were left fat and happy from all of the incredible food. I didn't take pics of all of it but we had french onion soup, crab cakes, beef tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts from heaven followed by...wait for it...Krissy Kreme crème brûlée. To die for! My most favorite thing besides the deliciousness is he brought every cooking pot, pan, utensil and all serving plates and flatware. I didn't have to clean A THING! We are in the midst of planning to have Chris do another dinner party a month from now and plan on having him a recurring staple in our house every few months from here on out. He's very reasonable cost wise, very comparable to the cost of a restaurant so why not have one of a kind meals prepared for you at home where you can just do you! On 30 October, Chris prepared a wonderful Anniversary dinner for my husband & I. He arrived right on time, was fully prepared and cooked a flavorful and satisfying meal for us. Our menu consisted of a butternut/apple soup w/maple cream drizzle and nut crumble, Asian pear salad with manchego cheese, toasted Spanish almonds and an apple cider vinaigrette dressing. Our entree was Local farm-raised pork schnitzel w/mushroom cream sauce, homemade spaetzle, and roasted Brussels sprouts, with bacon and maple syrup. It was fabulous! Dessert did not disappoint either, which was a traditional cheesecake with emulsified strawberries, topped with a pretzel crumble for that savory sweet/salty taste. We thoroughly enjoyed talking and getting to know Chris and of course our Anniversary dinner. We plan to invite him back to cook a Spanish tapas and paella meal in December. My wife surprised me with a dinner cooked in our home by Chris Spears of Perfect Little Bites. The dinner was outstanding! She was able to select the courses from a large list of menu ideas. Many of the items she chose were not things I would normally order in a restaurant, as I told Chris, I am a meat and potatoes guy from Pennsylvania Dutch country. Chris' courses were all great! My wife honored my normal tastes by choosing Beef Tenderloin with Herb Chimichurri as the entrée. It was incredible! Chris brought everything he needed other than the service ware. Not only did he cook a delicious meal, Chris also cleaned up and left our kitchen as it was before he started. Chris provided a great experience and great food. Perfect little bites made our first wedding anniversary such a great experience. Since in time of COVID, we couldn't go out and celebrate. Chris made our stay home anniversary dinner so unique. The food was to die for, I never finish my food when we go out to dinner, but the food so was great that I couldn't stop eating. My husband and I were amazed now how safely Chris worked. He had a mask on, wore gloves at all times. Chris brought everything with him and cooked the most amazing food for us. Then he even cleaned up the space he used before he left, which was so great. We could see what he was making and how he was making it, so it made us feel like we were part of the whole process. We hired Chris on several occasions. For our Company Christmas party he entertained 12 guests with the most wonderful meal! Charming witty and a delight to have over. We hired him again for a romantic peaceful dinner at home to celebrate the birth of our third child. We sent the older kiddos to Grandmother's and my wife and I enjoyed one of the most exquisite experiences since we got married. He brought his own dishes and utensils which was great because I still had a heaping pile of our dishes in the sink! Chris was wonderful to work with, from start to finish. He had tons of menu options to choose from. The hardest part was narrowing down what we wanted! Everyone loved the birthday dinner he prepared, and Chris was kind enough to share the recipes with us after! We had shrimp and grits (real southern style grits), some delicious appetizer dips including a smoked gouda and a curried lentil, and a beautiful seasonal grilled peach salad. Few weeks ago, I won a raffle grand prize that included a weekend in a cabin in West Virginia. Included what a dinner prepared by Perfect Little Bites owner and Chef (Chris). Prior to the weekend, I asked Chris to come up with his own menu for us. It was an excellent meal I will not soon forget. From the appetizer to the decadent Paw Paw Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Creme brûlée's, It was amazing. His passion and creativity were refreshing and it was a pleasure to talk about food and the food industry in general (I have been a chef for a long time myself). A dinner prepared by Chris was gifted to my husband and me for Christmas (2 years ago -and he honored it!) by our daughters. We had a wonderful evening with Chris - full of great food and good conversation. He brought a great teaser with him for us to nibble on while he prepared the first course - wish I could recall the name of it - but it was scrumptious! It was also a really relaxed evening; three of us hanging around the kitchen island like family. I have produced events and parties with up to 1000 attendees, with a variety of caterers supplying sample-sized appetizers, etc. The Perfect Little Bites line is always long, and people return multiple times to see what he will be offering next. I especially like the inventive twists he puts on un-intimidating crowd favorites, such as a gourmet mac & cheese or a sandwich combo you'd never think of.
