Chris has been doing private cheffing for well over a decade( before it was cool) I was lucky…read moreenough to be on Chris's Podcast where he speaks to others who do the same thing a few years back and in our continued professional/personal relationship was able to bring Chris up to New Jersey for a dinner. Now you are probably thinking "that's weird you know this person outside of their business" and that's somewhat true though it's more of as a competitor though located far enough away our tribes don't clash so it's a alliance almost. Anyway the reason I felt compelled enough to leave this review was working on this event I feel like I hired Chris and got to be on the other end of things. And in that awesome almost out of body experience I wanted to leave a review for Chris due to his dedication and professionalism that he displayed in partaking in this event. He cooked 4 excellent courses and outshone me as a host with his guest interaction and knowledge of the dishes he prepared. Chris is a champion to all private chefs and I just wanted to leave this review, if you have never hired someone to cook for you and are in the DMV area (I think that's what they call Maryland/DC/ lower Pa) you should reach out to Chris!

We had the pepperoni spread, Maryland fish soup, braised short rib with mushroom sauce, spatzle, brussel sprouts, and lemon chèvre cheesecake. It was all phenomenal. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a private chef experience!

Seriously guys-this is NOT where you go soft and limp and find a marketing sourced BS "gift" that your marketing rep is talking you into cause she gets free gifts every year. Food-AMAZING! Freezer-overpriced but guaranteed for life...I'm ok with that. Service-always on time!!!! Delivery- they always stack THE MEATS!!!! (Get it?) Are they making money? ABSOLUTELY! I'd love to see the margins!!!! Overall good food, good biz model, ATROCIOUS MARKETINGim showing you a broken knife and you don't offer to replace it? #marketingatHeartland #CEOheartlanhomefoods Zach-can we get a replacement knife for the lifetime knives that were over $3k without a full tang?! We just ordered CUTCO btw as my uncle used to sell it and has a lifetime guarantee, lifetime sharpening etc. wait for it-at 1/2 the price. #marketingFAIL YET AGAIN FOOD IS GOOD. Drop the cheap shit.

Now run out of Philadelphia, it has incurred higher transportation costs for customers in Northern Virginia, and the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. Previously, the membership included 'Pantry Items' as a bonus, and included a huge selection, but not anymore!! The quality of the food has gone down as well. My last order included a Chicken Pot Pie that just had an inflated crust, not even a 1/4 lb. of chicken, and also I had ordered two 2 lb. beef briskets for grilling, that had over 12 0z. of fat on each brisket, combined, almost 2 lbs. of fat, that was concealed in the packaging from the labeling, premium pricing though!! Do yourself a favor, buy a freezer at Costco, and a vacuum food sealer, and purchase Kirkland Select and bag/freeze yourself.
