In the beginning, this company was about family and providing them with healthier than store bought alternatives. Their customer service and offerings were top notch. We have been with them for 9 years now, and I can honestly say they have sold out and became just another corporate run money grab. They got rid of all the bonus points and rewards they used to offer. Their product is packaged in the worst possible way now, and I have no words for what they are passing as chicken wings. I went to a local fall festival where they said I could sign up for a free delivery of a sample pack of their products. The next day, I received a phone call saying we needed to be home for the representative to bring sampling of their food. But they didn't need to use our kitchen or supplies. When the rep arrived the next day, he brought frozen packets of meats and beans. But after 30 minutes and hearing we were not a good candidate for the program, he left and we never even got to try any of their products to see if we even like it! They should be up front in the beginning about the sales presentation (bait and switch). I can't comment on their quality of food, since he never even let us try any! read more

I was excited to interview for this company to only find out I was a part of a group chat to get as many people on board as possible. They only sell products for 6 months at a time. Nothing smaller. I can't say enough good things about Heartland Home Foods. My husband and I are big into proteins and meal prep and this has been SO convenient for us. We no longer have to worry about going to the grocery store to buy meat because we have a a variety at home. It's a six month order but well worth it for our family. This service started off great, but now have no use for the overpriced freezer. Better off buying an upright freezer from local store as you will save a lot of money. Also I get fresher meat, liver and veggies from my farmers market for a lot less. Most of the sundries you get with your food order, you could buy cheaper at Costco and get your meats and veggies at the Farmers Market or local farms and come out paying less in total. Food quality was good. That being said, I would not recommend. Typical pressure sales with inconsistent and false information in my experience. I was not given the right information by my sales rep apparently and this led to a very poor experience on my part. While the company made an attempt to fix the problem it was minimal. When I continued to voice my lack of satisfaction I felt pushed off and am basically left with the only option being to pay out the remainder of the agreement and just look elsewhere for such a service. This is the best food service for organic meats. I've been a customer for 5 years. All of their food is good. Matt Wesp came to my office today to take my order. My schedule is so hectic he was more than happy to make it work for me. They call me on a regular basis to remind me. Their delivery staff is wonderful too. They are on time and very friendly. They show you everything on your order and load it into your freezer so organized, it makes it easy to find anything. Your order includes household items. They're willing to work within your budget ... if you are willing to spend $500+ per month on their products. I've been searching for a company that would provide high-quality, organic, non-GMO (etc. etc.) meat, and Heartland seemed to fit the bill. The rep who came to our house to give the sales pitch didn't have to try hard--I'd already done my research and was sold on the idea as soon as he walked in; I was ready to place an order. After over three hours of meeting with us--giving the pitch, preparing the foods, and talking price--he wasn't able to make a deal with us. We are on a very strict food budget but were planning to spend in the neighborhood of $250/month (and were willing to commit to their eight-month deal), but we were told he "couldn't make that number work" and that "they might not be the right company for us." He was able go come down from his initial $550/month to about $320/month (keep in mind--we weren't getting a better deal, just less meals each month), but he wouldn't continue reducing the amount of meals per month in order to meet us at our $250ish budget. He was very nice and professional (and it turns out we even go to the same church--Hi, Steve!!), but I'm so disappointed the company wasn't able to accommodate such a willing customer. He did say he would look into it, talk to his boss, and get back to us, but it's been over month and we haven't heard from him, so I guess it's not going to happen. It seems like the only way they were willing to have us as customers was if we were willing to buy a (very highly-priced) home appliance from them--because then we could pay off the appliance in increments and also receive a discount on the meats, and with the discount we would fall into our comfortable $250 range (after about three years of paying off the appliance). *Sigh* Again, the rep was very nice and very polite, but he kept dropping big names--apparently many of his clients are local celebrities/athletes/CEOs/etc. This is GREAT for him, but left us feeling like the company is only willing to work within your budget IF you are in this elite league. This just rubbed us wrong when the company promotes themselves as being "willing to work with any budget". Last note: when I say I was willing to spend $250 per month for these "specialty" meats, keep in mind that this was IN ADDITION to other meats I'd have to buy at the grocery store to complement these high-end meats, PLUS all of our other groceries each month. Bottom line ... they're certainly worth trying out if you're willing and able to spend in the $500+ range per month. read more

Our favorites are the chicken, sirloin steaks , and the salmon. We had two deliveries. Second delivery meats were not as good as first and there is no upgrade available except for size. I'm having anxiety realizing we fell for purchasing such an expensive freezer that I don't use anymore. Trying to sell it for the balance that's due just to get away from any more payments. I guess it's good for large families with no time to shop but now empty near and I love taking the time to shop the butcher shop for fresh meats and market for fresh veggies. We are both in our mid-20s and find this food service absolutely perfect for our needs. We HATE going to the grocery store - doesn't matter which one. Now, we only have to get our produce, fruits, and dairy at the grocery store which is often purchased from online sites such as JET or Amazon. We did buy into the fridge a year ago for the additional 25%. I highly recommend this long-term investment to potential clients. The food - it's literally the highest quality. We solely stick to only products air sealed with the Heartland label - just our preference as we find it the highest quality. I have to be honest we are considering cancelling and going back to shopping ourselves. One reason is that since the first couple of times we ordered, it was with our Rep. Now we purchased a freezer the first time and knives the second time. Since that time we had made it perfectly clear we would not order anymore items. Well, fast forward to our next two orders and they are by phone. Heck the second time wasn't even with our Rep and we moved so we could find our order sheets. So, the second time we did it by phone was awful because they gave us another rep and we couldn't seem to clearly go over the previous order. So we ended up getting stuff we didn't want to have but she didn't know...all she did was do counts of the total to get our order to the proper number. Is the food worth the headache? We are just finishing our first 6 months with Heartland Home Foods. We love that we can get grass fed, organic meat with so many choices delivered to our home. They worked with us to stay in our budget. The meat taste great (which is rare for grass fed beef!). We had a small issue with our order and they sent a manager out the next day to address the issue and made up for it two fold! The customer service at this company is excellent. I will say, that the freezer agreement is a little tricky. We did sign-up for the freezer because it gives you protection if you lose power and because we do plan on staying with them many years which makes the discount you get when you sign up for it worth it. read more
