This place is great! The people here are very nice and quite knowledgeable, and they have a huge selection of synthesizers, modules, and effects pedals. The place is always clean and sometimes they offer sales and even contests where they give away stuff if you sign up to get notified. I haven't won anything yet but maybe I will eventually. They also have a big parking lot and lots of street parking available. Parking is free in the lot and on the street. Ordered a Pamela's PRO Workout on Reverb (via Perfect Circuit listing) early Friday morning--brand new, free shipping, 'only' in Burbank. Figured it'd ship same day and arrive by Sunday for weekend prep. Nope. They slapped signature-required on it via FedEx--no mention in the listing. I'm in a back unit, no street door, no doorbell I can hear--impossible to sign without camping outside. Tried holding at Walgreens down the street--FedEx approved, but Walgreens doesn't take packages weekends. Now it's Monday, still no module. Needed it for a lesson plan Tuesday; thanks to their silent policy, I'm screwed. Look, I get protecting against theft claims--expensive gear--but communicate! Put 'signature required for orders over $100' in the damn listing. You're selling high-end modules; transparency isn't optional. Fast ship, sure--but useless if I can't receive it. I see a lot of recent (last six months) frustrated reviewers, and I don't doubt their individual experiences, but mine during the same time period was smooth as can be: Purchased a used Moog Subsequent 37 for a great price (their inventory is stellar), drove up from SD to pick it up, had a couple very helpful discussions about the Moog as well as a general inquiry about modular systems and the guys were great...Sure, it's expected that some of the people working here are going to be hard core circuit heads with the skills of Vangelis (this is LA after all), and thus perhaps on the aloof side, but that kind of thing doesn't even register in my "I give a s-t" department, as long as I'm getting what I need out of the interaction(s), and in this case it was all good. Wow, can't believe I wasted so much time at Perfect Circuit. This place has the weirdest vibe ever - super awkward staff that barely make eye contact. But their true colors showed about their ridiculous politics when they dropped Soundrise (who make killer stands right here in CA and were their B2B partners for years) just because some internet personality got mad that Soundrise listens to Kanye's music... seriously? They didn't even bother checking facts before believing some random online claim that Soundrise stuff is made in China when anyone can see it's made locally. Typical Perfect Circuit - jump on whatever bandwagon is trending without a second thought. Ditched a solid local business partner over nothing but internet drama. Been shopping at Sweetwater since and what a difference! Better prices, awesome return policy, and the guys there actually care about gear and customers instead of whatever Twitter is freaking out about this week. I went in to see if they had the product I was looking for and the guy in the front said they do. After going through pricing, I told him I needed a few hours to talk it over with my wife. Purchased the item less than an hour after for pickup. Didn't get an email or call about the product I had ordered. After numerous emails, I finally get a message the day after saying that the order didn't go through because of my bank. Called my bank, bank said the money was taken out and wasn't flagged for fraud or being held. I message this Lisa person letting them know that my bank is fine the charge obviously went through and I was going to stop by the store with my ID and card that was used. Shortly I get an email from perfect circuit saying that supposedly my bank reversed the charge to a refund. This company is full of it. If you don't have the product or didn't want to sell it to me just say so. Everything was clear on my end, you guys failed miserably in every aspect of selling. Gladly taking my $2,000 dollars back and go to Guitar Center. read more

I walked into Perfect Circuit and the experience was very poor, starting with the customer service. The men appeared uninterested in any of my inquiries that I had. In fact, they made me feel like I didn't even belong. Despite the awkwardness, I bought a keyboard stand, only to discover when I got home that it had been used and repackaged. I mean even the plastic wrap for the parts were torn open. I initially tried to call Perfect Circuit during open business hours, but they didn't answer the phone. So I had to drive an hour and a half back to the store to discuss my matter. When I arrived at the store, one employee remembered me and apologized. He admitted that they made a mistake, but he was super cavalier, as if it didn't bother him. I exchanged the used keyboard for an actual new model, but had to go out of my way and ask for a discount for my troubles. Perfect Circuit gave 15% off, which amounted to $10 bucks (I spent at least $50 dollars on gas just driving to their store and back). I just wanted to share my experience. I am an Air Force veteran and this is my true and sworn testimony. read more

Scott gave me the name of a product that would exactly meet my needs, but said they were sold out of it, and he suggested other places I could find it. He also let me know what would be the closest product they did have in stock. Great offering and wide variety of equipment. I enjoyed how clean and spaced out everything is. They are more than happy to loan headphones if you forgot yours. Low pressure sales but they really know their stuff. I loved their album collection too. Some really hard to find items like max professor's mezzanine remixes and IBM 1401. Had my first visit to this landmark for analog synth enthusiasts today. The person at the counter, Julian, was extremely knowledgeable about the subjects of my inquiry, & i did not feel rushed in any way. I would very much like to buy from them in the future - a showroom for these kinds of instruments is an essential thing. How could one ever truly make an informed decision without hands on fun! I think the layout and approach in the showroom is well thought out, with an abundance of toys readily available to tinker with. Several brands were new to me, and its much more helpful to see them in person, side by side, than on some web page (and hear them, but i was in a big hurry myself so i couldn't spend much time). If you are into synths this place is probably what heaven looks like. It's basically a room full of gear with headphones you can plug into anything and try out. What sets them apart is all the brands that you might not find at your local Guitar Center - Teenage Engineering, Elektron, Critter & Guitari, various modular systems, etc. on top of the more hardcore products from bigger brands like Moog, Roland, Korg, etc. There's a separate room for clearance items and another room for effects and more pro audio gear. What an amazing gem located in an unsuspecting location that draws pretty much zero attention from the street. I found them while shopping on eBay the other night for something specific, only to have found the item I wanted located right here in Burbank. I did a quick Yelp search and found this place. I'm a former supervisor for a large technology company that sports a bitten piece of fruit logo. So I notice excellent and clean merchandising. This place didn't disappoint, being marched in the most excited of ways. This is like my old store, but for synth, vinyl, and effects pedal nerds (*nerds said affectionately, of course). And honestly, their shop is merched even cleaner than that large fruit company. I needed something as simple as a Voodoo Labs voltage doubler and I was given service like I was buying a $1000 item. It was refreshing to see and I felt valued as a customer, despite my toddler running around the store like a bull in a China shop.
